Take the old bad reviews with a grain of salt. Many of them look pre-2014. Granted, we «buzzed» through here at 630am, the service was fast, friendly, and efficient. The latte was great and the breakfast bagels were way better(hot and delicious) than the heat and serve preassembled food at the Starbucks down the road. Nice little local place that we are happy to support.

Much better experience than the crazy Starbucks across the street with a coffee line of 15 people long and a bathroom line of 10 people long. No line for the clean bathroom(toilet seat is freezing though) and the coffee is good, quick and hot. A comfortable local vibe with friendly service and a nice little book stand supporting the local library– got to love that!

I am not sure why people gave the bad comments. This place is a great alternative to the crowded and overpriced Starbucks up the road and the lousy café at McDonald across the road. Beside it is local. No chain restaurants. The drive thru is small but the process to get the drinks is fast, that’s why I went there instead of waiting on the line at Starbucks. Actually I pulled off from Starbucks to go there. When I got my drink, I noticed that the car in front of me at Starbucks was still waiting to get the order. My choice was a medium sized mocha and a chocolate muffin. I was asked if I wanted the muffin to be warmed up a bit. Nice thinking. On the second day, I went inside and I ordered a croissant with egg and bacon. I could see that all the foods are prepared in advance and they just warm them up in a microwave. It is a pity but it is what it takes not to have customers waiting. I give 3 stars and half.

I’ve been coming here since they opened, and up until recently it’s been great. The last two weeks, however, are a different story. The first time, I sat in the drive thru and watched the girl come out and take orders from three cars that pulled into the other lane after I was there, without ever acknowledging my presence. This morning, I sat for over two minutes without anyone even coming out of the building. Both times I finally gave up and left. Even with 4 – 5 cars ahead of me at the«other» coffee place, I was served faster. I’ll try one more time — but third strike and they’re out for good.

I have been stopping in on the way to drop my daughter off at school in the mornings for about six months now. The drive thru is ALWAYS packed but on multiple occasions, the girl that comes outside to take orders has skipped coming over to take my order. One morning last week, I waited 20 minutes just to have my order taken and finally gave up and left. Starbucks at least keeps the line moving. I’m afraid Buzz Thru just lost a regular LOCAL customer. It’s sad because I do my best to support local businesses but clearly this one didn’t think it needs it. Thumbs down. Bye.

I tried to order an iced Americano. I asked for a 12 oz. cup. The sales clerk informed me that if I wanted an iced drink it had to be in a 16 oz plastic cup. I said that I just wanted a shot of espresso with a little bit of water and some ice added. She wouldn’t accommodate my request. I didn’t want 16 oz of fluid, and paying for a 16 oz drink was fine, just so long as I didn’t get 16 oz. of fluid. I clarified that I didn’t want a blended iced drink and she said ya like she understood. She told me that all iced drinks are sold in the 16 oz plastic cups. I passed on the coffee and proceeded to order my dad the drink he wanted. My dad asked if I wanted a bagel-I did. We had the food to go. When I tried to eat the bagel my lips and mouth burned like fire as if they put a very spicy chili oil on my blueberry bagel. For at least 1 hour my mouth burned. I believe the café’s staff retaliated because I didn’t get the 16 oz coffee and I didn’t leave a tip. At the very least, they didn’t properly wash the food prep area. I always leave tips and people always tell me that I am the sweetest person they know. I wasn’t rude-I just didn’t get the coffee. Why pay for something you don’t want? I will never go there again, and neither will my dad. I rated 1 star because I couldn’t get this app to leave 0 stars. I don’t recommend this shop. Go to the Starbucks up the road. They know how to satisfy a customer.

We love Buzz thru Joes! It’s a great place to get goodies on the go in a hurry or stop inside for some of their delicious biscuits and gravy! YUM! We like the smoothies and the baked goods are wonderful too. Nice community bulletin board and little library inside. Been around for over a decade so they must be doing something right! The locals love ya!

This place used to be my favorite place in the world. Now the food is not good and it took 15 min with only 2 cars in front of me to get a croissant. Such a shame never coming here again:(

HORRIBLE! Let me start, first off this place USED to be amazing! I don’t know what happened over the years, or they changed owners, but now it is horrible! I loved going there growing up. Went there today, I will NEVER go back! One reason I ordered a cinnamon roll. They used to have mouth watering delicious amazing huge cinnamon rolls! I got home opened my bag and they gave me a cinna bun that looked as if they just pulled it from the freezer. So I went back and the rude gal said that no one was buying them. That’s bull. So I ordered a sausage burrito which used to be amazing and huge! I mean its almost 7 $ for one burrito, it better be decent size, when I got it today it was about half the size it used to be. In conclusion I will never go back. And I used to love that place. I miss the way it was. If it ever went back, i would be backin a heart beat. Don’t waste your money. Go to Starbucks… 1 star. The only reason 1 and not zero was because of the way it used to be.

Gross, worst breakfast burrito i have ever eaten. Stopped here on my way to go skiing on a Saturday morning, went inside to order because the drive thru was too long. It looked like a great little place to eat, but damn was i wrong. I literally took 2 bites of my burrito and could not possibly take another, it tasted like poop. The contents of the burrito felt like mush and looked more or less the same, i am pretty sure they put eggs, potatoes and bacon and put it in a blender and poured it into a tortilla, wrapped it up, put it in the fridge and then heated it up in the microwave. Sure enough, we told the lady it was horrible as she said they make them the day before and they heat them up in the microwave. I would have been better off buying a frozen jimmy dean. I will never go back, i highly recommend skipping this place. Ohhh and the coffee sucked too.

The big dog Starbucks lurks less than 25 yards away, but their drive-through is always 5 to 6 cars deep… That is why Buzz through Joe’s is a pretty good option. You are in and out very quickly & the food menu is far more impressive than Starbucks. I have been here a handful of times and the Coffee is decent(it is no Pete’s). Last time I splurged and got a small Mocha and I was then back on the freeway in about a minute… This is a good spot for folks not patient enough to wait for the almighty master Starbucks line to die down.

TJs had a 30 min wait at 10:30am so my gf and I walked over to Joes to grab a coffee and a white mocha(guess which one was hers). Anyways Joes was empty inside, but the drive-through was consistently busy. Smells great inside, fresh bagels and donut-like stuff look good, and pleasant staff. Coffee was ok(way better than starbucks) and good because the temp was hot but not too hot to where you can’t drink it. My gf said the mocha was perfect. Not much else to say. Its close proximity to I80 a good place to hang out and grab a cup of joe at Joe’s before heading back down the road, where ever your destination.

Buzz thru Joes is the obvious choice in Colfax for a wonderful cup of Joe! The staff is incredibly friendly. The food is great. Their donuts are awesome… and I’m NOT a donut fan! I often order their Peach Jet Tea smoothie. YUM. Also their Snowcap(peppermint white chocolate blended coffee drink) Add cookies. it’s amazing! I highly recommend this stop as your passing through!

This place used to be great. But I go to Starbucks now. Ever since Joe’s was bought up by the Chinese a couple of months ago the place just hasn’t felt the same. Maybe I’ll give them another chance in a few months. Or maybe I won’t. The drinks all taste the same as before, but something else is missing. I couldn’t tell you what, though. One thing I can tell you is that all of the love and positive energy Tracy brought to that place over the years has left with her. I hope she finds success in whatever new venture she chooses!

Buzz Thru Joes is the rare local coffee place that can compete with the Starbucks across the street. Frequented by the small-town locals for the great coffee and friendly faces. The tourists should find this place and enjoy the treats.

last outpost. On your way to tahoe along I80 be sure to get off at the colfax exit and fill up on coffee and gas. it’s the last reasonably priced stop before you head into the mountains. i grew up in this town before escaping to berkeley for college. get the iced white mocha on hot days and the hot vanilla chai on those colder mornings. joe’s is an excellent alternative to starbucks in this one horse town.
