Omg… found this place via Unilocal on our way home from Reno. So glad we stopped here! The atmosphere is comfortable and like home. Our waitress was prompt and very attentive. Prices were very reasonable, fed my family of 5 for $ 60 including the tip. Now for the food… DELICIOUS! Its rare that all 3 of my kids eat ALL of their food, but they did today. Hubby had the Penny’s Garden omlette with biscuits and gravy and I had the«usual» breakfast(I’m a picky eater) with sweet potato fries. Everything was cooked to perfection. We are getting back on the road with full, happy bellies. Will definitely stop here again on our travels.

Solid three, Service was eh and food took forever, kinda hard to call a 8month pregnant lady bad but yeah. I got the veggie tacos and they were ever so boring. Onions and mushrooms with nothing else. I asked for salsa and sour cream. Just because it’s vegetarian does not mean I have given up on flavor. The stars are so wrong for this place. The kids got pancakes in which they barely ate because they were dissolving into crumbly dust… basically bad version of Denys. I don’t eat Denys Update 24 hours later I have intense stomach flu/food poisoning. I ate nothing else that was not cooked by me, must be the food from this place. what was I thinking? Thanks oh and taking a star Because I can’t give a negative one. Shame on your business.

We had a 9am reservation for breakfast & were not served our food until 10:15! Watched others seated after us, served before us. Food was good not great! I had steel cut oatmeal that i had had before. This time it was not served in the same way. The presentation was lacking & was not as appealing as before. They seemed too busy for the amount of staff workings. Staff was not relaxed enough to enjoy serving etc. understaffed.

Ok… so we get invited to Valentine’s dinner at this place from our friends who had recently discovered this gem. Turns out to be one of the funnest nights we have had in awhile. We always hear things like, «we know the owner».blah blah blah. .but here, during our first visit, we now know the owner Stacy… treated us like gold. isn’t that why we go out??? Her staff was top notch. .the food excellent and the atmosphere loose and fun. You know a place is good when the couple giving up their table for us tells us they have been coming here since it’s opening. .on their way to and from their homes in Marin and Tahoe. It is an hour drive for us from Folsom, but we’re coming back for the breakfast that we hear is better than dinner. …really? ?? Thanks for a great time! !

Great atmosphere will be even better after renovations! Love sitting outside and enjoying a cup of coffee with my delicious meal. Great service and great food! Large menu with many options. Only down side is its jammed packed with tourists on some weekends. Love this place!

Better than your average dinner. The menu is big with something for everyone. The breakfasts seemed ordinary. I can make fried eggs and thin bacon better. I was impressed with their French dip and you can get it with turkey. They close early.

Enjoyed the Super bowl in the Dine n Dash’s newly opened Pub and had a great time. If you need to wet your whistle, this is the place to go! The food is pretty awesome too!

Excellent food and service! Everybody is pleasant. Our server, Gillian, gave great recommendations and checked on us to make sure our food was okay. It was more than okay! Aside from being delicious, the presentation was nice and the servings were substantial. The menu comes with lots of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. They also advertise military discount, thank you!

The husband ordered the Club sandwich was very dry. I ordered the Bakers Benny which my eggs were over poached. Had a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream $ 3 for a packet and hot water. Overall, it was good and prices were just right $ 10 ish a plater.

Is there such a thing as too many servers? There might be. Dine N Dash might have too many servers. I think we encountered five different people helping us at our table through our entire visit and two of them were our«servers», but I don’t know if they knew the other was our server until we told them. The regular eggs benedict was tasty enough. The hollandaise was a little flavorless and the ham lacked smokey sweetness, but everything was fresh and I ate all of it. My man got CJ’s breakfast burrito(covered in tasty gravy) and he enjoyed it. We wanted Bloody Marys in Colfax and Dine N Dash delivered.

My fiancé and I have been to many breakfast/brunch diners in the area. From Placerville to Grass Valley from Folsom to Sacramento. But so far this place ranks at the top of the list. I had the quincy’s mess and the ingredients weren’t just cooked to perfection but portioned out perfectly as well. The gravy which tends to be too floury tasting in most establishments was incredibly flavorful here. 5 out of 5 for the gravy. My fiancés omelet had bacon in almost every bite which was delightfully surprising. The home fries were crispy on the outside which is a sign of being freshly cooked by experienced cooks. The service is down home, prompt, welcoming and attentive. All of which made for a delightful experience. Overall this place is a must stop on the 80 route to or from the mountains if you are the least bit hungry for a great breakfast. Thank you dine & dash for a wonderful experience.

A friend recommended this place. Unilocal reviews were great! The service was outstanding! The food was not anything special. The place was huge and we had a little table next to the fire. Coffee is not good.

Saw this on DDD years ago and put it on my bucket list. 2,000 miles from my home in KY. Worth the trip. The menu is very exciting and all portions are huge, really huge. I am going to stop in again next week on my way home.

Fast, friendly, and ruthlessly efficient staff are a well oiled machine, working together to get the large Saturday morning crowd seated and served! My husband and I stopped in on a whim and were thrilled with the food, which was fresh and flavorful and the service, that was fun and friendly. I enjoyed the breakfast veggie tacos and my husband ate every bite of his veggie scramble. It was a first visit but it won’t be the last!

Dinner in Colfax! This is a great stop for breakfast or lunch on the the way to or coming from Reno. They only offer dinner on Fridays and Saturdays where they close at 8:00p. Otherwise, they normally have business hours from 7:00a to 3:00p. It is located off of I-80 and is easy to find. Happened to be a weekend and we had dinner here. I had one of their specials for the day which was the Seafood Pasta and included shrimps and salmon and garlic bread. It was good but looking at my hubby’s order made me want steak instead! Hubby had the 10-oz Prime Rib! I had a taste of it and it was yummy and cooked perfectly! Their menu has plenty of choices offering for breakfast: biscuits and gravy, omelettes, burritos, chicken fried steak, etc. Lunch menu included burgers, sandwiches(hot and cold), salads, and even gluten-free and vegan options! Dinner offered pasta, salad, burgers, Mexican, steak… it is a little pricey $$ than other cafes nearby but worth a visit! The service was great, our server was very friendly and had little conversations with us whenever she came and checked on us. She mentioned that there is a new bar that is under construction, twice as big as the original one they have now. The patio seating says«under construction» on the door but it looks finished to me and it looks beautiful! Lots of pottery and plants and greenery around on wooden flooring. It has a ceiling fan in case the weather calls for it. I took a peek and posted a couple of photos. The restaurant/café has the country feel and look. The booths makes it somewhat private since it was separated by tall wooden backs. Looking forward to having breakfast here one day… it is Colfax’s hidden gem. P. S. The huge old-fashioned weighing scale in the ladies restroom is not only a cool décor but it also works!(It lied to me) LoL
