Although its super disappointing that there is no Starbucks on campus, The Coffee Bar is the next best thing. Located on the 1st floor of the STAMP Student Union, the café serves Starbucks coffee and a limited selection of typical Starbucks drinks like macchiatos, flavored lattes, and frappucinos. During the lunch rush be prepared for a pretty long wait but there is plenty of seating in and around the café. This is an ideal place for me to sit and study, read a book, or talk to a friend over coffee. The Coffee Bar also has a limited selection of food items like pastries. I haven’t tried these so I cannot speak to the quality of such items. They also have gelato which I haven’t tried but it looks delicious.

I haven’t had Starbucks for the past…3 months? Not okay. Finally, after a month on campus, I decided to pay a visit to The Coffee Bar in Stamp Student Union on the way back from class. …Correction: two visits. Within 3 hours. First visit: Iced Caramel Macchiato — as good as I remember it from Starbucks. Second visit: Sweetened Iced Black Tea — yummm! And healthy :) I think. Does the syrup make it unhealthy? :( Service is fairly fast and you can use your TerpBucks! It’s the next best thing to having an actual Starbucks on campus in an accessible location. There’s ample seating space both inside and outside, and they sell pastries too. Grande size only, limited selection of drinks(obviously).

Ahh, The Coffee Bar. This place has kept me awake through some long days and nights of classes and events on campus. The Coffee Bar faces the street so there is outdoor seating and windows in the place. One of the walls has a couple of flat screen tvs… most patrons don’t pay much attention to them, but they add to the ambiance. The Coffee Bar serves Starbucks coffee(House Blend) and make standard espresso drinks and frappuccinos. They don’t have a huge selection of syrups(I really like sugar-free hazelnut syrup but they don’t have it), and most of the pastries and sandwiches are provided by the University’s caterers(which are meh). I like that they have a punch card, though, so every 11th drink is free! I also like that it’s located in the Stamp Student Union, but it’s not open very late on the weekends — boo.
