Pretty awesome place. Especially to watch soccer games. Or any kind of sports entertainment. They have so many tvs. I literally didn’t miss a thing at any time. The drinks are on point. I loved the spicey margarita… I only had an appetizer but I could smell the aroma of all the amazing food around me… It was awesome. The guac was SUPER fresh. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5, was the fact that the service was a bit shaky at times. Our server wasn’t really fluent in English and messed a couple of our orders up… BUT ill give it another chance and rate 5 stars if it lives up to my standards

I absolutely love this place. Came here on a Saturday night with some friends and really had a good time. The bartender Mike made the best drinks, you have to try the strawberry caipirina or the frozen Long Island ice tea. The owner Mr. Dre came out even took shots with us. Will definitely be back again.

If you happen to be in Queens or will be making your way to Queens you should definitely make plans to stop by this Gem in College Point, Queens. With a movie theater, shopping and Citi Field home of the Mets all being in close proximity you ought to stop by. Appetizers and Dinner will always be delicious and the service, second to none. TV’s surround the entire indoor and outdoor sitting areas so you won’t miss a beat. The kicker for me here are the drinks and variety. They are all worth trying and coming back for, time and time again. From flavored Mojitos to flavored Sangrias along with their signature cocktails, you’ll be asking for more. Worth every STAR!

Came here for dinner. Not my kind of bar — DJ was spinning, music very loud — and service was slow. Tried the«coconut sangria» and I’m really unsure that there’s any wine in it, maybe coconut rum? Tasted okay but maybe should have ordered something else. On the upside the food was really delicious and at a good price point — I had the pollito and my friend had the steak. Yuca fries were perfect. Would be willing to come back to try the brunch food as that seems to be this place’s big draw.

This restaurant is such a great addition to College Point and I would gladly come back any time no doubt about it! The staff is so friendly, patient, and helpful. The food is delicious, fresh, and filling. The vibe is very chill/casual and you can drink and eat all night. From what I can tell, their playlist is comprised of bachata and other Spanish dance music. The waitress that served the Mr. and myself offered sample shots of the Sangria because I wanted to try a fruity one off their menu. I picked out the Passionfruit one under her advice and Hubs picked out Mr. Dre Sangria with Jacks! They were both very good. The Passionfruit was delicious and fruity and Mr. Dre was balanced with the Jacks and Passionfruit. We were recommended the pitcher($ 30) over individual drinks($ 8/$ 10 each respectively) because it would have been a better deal shareable between 2 people. Of course being Asian and lightweight, we said nah. But it was definitely appreciated! Ok time for food! Mariquitas– fun and delicious finger food. They were so beautifully presented, the plantains were so crispy and fun to eat. The guacamole was delicious and complimented the chips very well. Initially, being a heavy dipper, I thought that the guac to chip ratio was off but it’s quite proportionate. I would say get that extra guac if you are a serious dipper as well. Ceviche Mixto– I wanted a light lean meal for dinner and this was that, as well as refreshing and plenty. No complaints honestly. I finished it in under 20 minutes. Costillas w/Sweet Potato Fries– holy mother– what is that sauce? Sticky and finger licking goodness. This dish took a while to come out but it was worth waiting for. The fries were really good as well, crispy, hot, and soft inside. No need for ketchup. All in all/TL;DR great service, food, vibe. Many offerings for different preferences.

Myself and 4 others came here since it was near our hotel and everything was excellent!!! 1. Service: We were seated right away and our waitress was incredibly sweet, attentive, and accommodating. 2. Alcohol: Our table had the Mr Dre 7 drink which has coconut and pomegranate infusion and the mango and passion sangria. Personally the mango sangria was my favorite, so refreshing! 3. Food: I had the churrasco– skirt steaks with chimmichuri(forgive spelling) and a side of the sweet plantains… So delicious. The steak was yummy but the sweet plantains were cooked to perfection. The beef arrepas melted in our mouth and yuca was also perfectly cooked 4. Atmosphere: I loved the decorations and lighting. Really chill place to eat/drink at. Also, the DJ was killing it with the old school 90s jams. The music alone had my entire party in a great mood Also were planning on going back for the Sunday brunch :)

My friend and I came here for brunch yesterday after hearing great things — it didn’t disappoint! we made a reservation for the 2 of us at 12, which I’d recommend because the place gets really busy. it’s small, but really cute and the staff was just great. Jonathan was our server, really nice guy and attentive. they have about 7 or 8 different sangrias and he came over with little samples of each when we couldn’t decide. as soon as you’re served you get a complimentary mimosa(made with passion fruit juice I believe, not OJ) I had the churrasco(skirt steak with chimichurri served with egg and yucca) — really good and a nice size portion. my friend had one of their burgers which she also really enjoyed. there was a DJ playing great music so it’s a really fun atmosphere, we stayed for a drink at the bar afterwards. definitely check it out!

Great service! Food was decent for a neighborhood spot. Empanadas were the best of everything we ordered. Sangria’s were excellent. They encouraged us to try all the different flavors as free samples. Would definitely come back on a weekend for brunch or for dinner.

First off I want to start by saying the service at Dre’s is off the charts!!! The waitresses are friendly and constantly catering to their customers. The bartender is just as helpful and keeps the drinks comingIm a returning customer on Fridays!!! I would give 5 stars to this great, little spot if the bar stools were more comfortable

I was going to the movies nearby with some girlfriends and decided to come here for an early dinner and drinks. I was super excited after all the great reviews on Unilocal. The place wasn’t crowded there were only about 4 tables full. We placed on our orders, I went with the pollito(chicken breast stuffed with chorizo and sweet plantains) with a side of mash potatoes. My food was delicious and a good portion. It was happy hour which is always great so I had the coconut and guava sangria. Both flavors lack a lot of flavor and alcohol. Now the reason I wouldn’t come back was the service. I still don’t know who our server was and the two waitresses seem more interested and concern with the table next to us. It looked like the guys on that table were their friends so they were just hanging out chatting with them instead of doing their job.

Mr Dres is fairly new to the College Point area and a nice addition I might say. There are a bunch of fast casual and very few sit down Latin/Hispanic restaurants along the strip but imo they stand out. The exterior is different, it being all black makes it look a bit blah during the day but at night that changes. Equipt with icicle lights, a bright sign and straw thatching on one side of the roof you can’t drive by without wondering what’s inside. The interior is just as unique with stand out pieces like rocks held together with coop fencing along the bottom of bar, the intricacy of the paneled ceiling and color changing lights along the walls. The entire restaurant took 3 months to complete and everything was designed and put together by the owner himself. The vibe is fun, they have great music playing in the background from Top 40 to MJ to techno(a live Dj plays certain nights). Based on Unilocal videos and word from the staff it gets poppin in there. We walked in and were greeted by the best waiter ever, Jonathan! He was mad cool, informative, helpful and handsome… all that you want your waiter to be and then some! Very personable and kept the drinks flowing all night. On my first visit we experienced the Brunch scene and I wasnt blown away by the food options but the drinks were amazeballs! I really enjoyed the mango sangria but wanted to try one of the other 11 flavors they offered. Jonathan allowed me to sample four different flavors; coconut, guava, pineapple and the Mr. Dres signature which has Jack daniels and passion fruit. I ended up going with guava first round, it was fruity but not too sweet, then mango which is perfection! and finished off the night with the Mr. Dres(wasted! Lol). Their menu is a bit red meat heavy offering only two seafood entrees and two ceviches but we were able to still enjoy a full meal. My bestie and I had stared at pictures of the mariquitas so we were looking forward to trying that and I wanted to try their empanadas. The presentation of the mariquitas was cool with plantain and yucca chips fanned out around a delicious mound of guac. The chips were crispy and fresh and the guac had chopped onions and tomatoes on top Yummy! The dough of the empanadas were delicious and soft with each one filled to capacity, no empty shell over here. The spinach and cheese had golden raisins baked in which was different, it added a nice contrast in flavor. Based off the managers suggestion I ordered the linguini with shrimp, peas, carrots and grape tomatoes in a creamy mushroom garlic sauce. The serving was large, enough for two to share. They dont skimp on the shrimp and they were large in size but slightly overdone; the sauce was creamy goodness though and everything meshed well. Jonathan informed us of a special they were offering; Tilapia with red sauce, chickpeas and olives with a side of white rice and black beans. The filets were thick and stewed to perfection and the accompanying red sauce was finger Iicking good. Theres no dessert menu but we were offered their bread pudding. It comes with dulce de Leche sauce and ice cream but we were way too stuffed to indulge anymore. Definitely going to get that on my next visit in. All in all this is a great spot for drinks, take advantage of all 12 sangria flavors, meat lovers come on down as I heard their churrasco is amazeballs and seafood lovers get that damn tilapia, you won’t regret it. See you again soon Mr. Dres.

A new Gem in Queens! I like a lively place from time to time– and this place is definitely jumping! The menu is Latin fusion, the Sangria is the bomb, but the vibe is definitely what keeps me coming back! Yesterday I went for the Sunday Brunch. DJ was playing a mix of old school hits from freestyle to hip hop to reggae. We started with a pitcher of Passion Fruit Sangria– so good! I ordered the Cazuela– which is a baked dish consisting of potatoes, 2 fried eggs, chorizo, onions and peppers, with some garlic toast on the side. It takes a long time to cook, but I didn’t even notice w the great music playing and the pitcher of Sangria keeping us busy. Hubby ordered the Mangu– which is a Dominican traditional breakfast consisting of mashed plantains, salami, and eggs. Everything was delicious, and reasonably priced. Dishes start at about $ 10-$ 20, and include a mimosa. Their dinner menu is also great. I’ve tried the arepas with shredded beef on top, and also the skirt steak w yucca fries is to die for! You won’t be disappointed coming here. Everything is on point! My first time was a Friday night, and it was so lively people were dancing in the street! Get there early because people literally do not get up when they finish eating, and you’re not rushed out either, so a wait for a table might be a problem during peak hours.

First Unilocal Elite to review this place. Three stars because there’s more room for improvement. Mr. Dre Kitchen/Bar is a hot new hip spot in Whitestone, Queens. Took the drive from Ozone Park to check this place out after I saw a segment about it in a Spanish network, as soon as I arrived to Dre Kitchen/Bar a DJ was playing some Latin hits and the boyfriend and I were seated right away. They don’t have a drink menu but we were told they have a full bar and their specialty are the 9 flavors of sangria that they make fresh daily. I have no problems with the waiter telling us what they carry but on a Friday night where a dj is pumping up the volume it’s hard to grasper all the information, I would’ve love to see a drink menu for a more ease of mind choice. I couldn’t remember most of the choices but I chose one of my favorite fruits and ended up with choosing the guava sangria. For appetizers we got the beef arepas which were delicious and the right amount. For entrée I got the Pollito dish, chicken thigh stuffed with chorizo and maduros on a garlic mushroom sauce that came with white rice and black beans, I would recommend that this dish is better with mashed potatoes. My boyfriend got the mango sauce ribs that also came with rice and beans, again this dish would’ve work out better with anything but rice and beans. The waitress seemed nervous; I’m assuming it was her first week and that’s why she told us that our dishes only comes with rice and beans and forgot to mention that they had side dishes for $ 5. When it was time for some dessert, again there was no menus so we were told the items over the pumping music, we were so stuffed from everything that we opted out for some sweets. Overall I wish I can give this place more stars since their food dishes are really good minus the rice and beans situation and I loved their guava sangria but this new spot needs more improvement with better service and I would love to see a bar and dessert menu, this place is great for a date night but not a first date because it will be hard to communicate over the music. Décor is very unique and I loved how it’s modernized with an old-school vibe to it. I would come back but to try their Sunday brunch menu.

I am sorry to be the first to break the five star review train, but the brunch I just had was not a five star experience. The staff IS amazing though. Very pleasant, professional and kept our beverages filled. Unfortunately the food just fell flat. Between the three of us, my friends and I had pancakes, a stir fried chicken dish and a egg topped burger with plantains. The burger was top notch! Juicy beef, a great contrast with a fried plantain and an ooey gooey egg. Each bite was a treat! The fries were thick and crisp too. It started to go down hill with the chicken. It was really plain with no real flavor. $ 10 for basically a handful of chicken and another $ 7 for a plate of romaine lettuce shreds since I couldn’t sub out the rice with a salad. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t very good. Our meal hit rock bottom with the pancakes. If you are going to put pancakes on a brunch menu, they should be some delicious pancakes. What we got instead were three small, hard and flat discs. Honestly I could have made a better batch with some Bisquick! We had one bite and didn’t touch the waste of $ 9 after that. On top of the mediocre food, the wait to get the food was really long. Around thirty minutes when we were the only customers when we ordered and only two other tables came in long after we had placed our orders. A shout out to the delicious guava mimosas, rockin’ DJ and the many large monitors playing miscellaneous sporting events :) Definitely check them out for a drink, but the food is definitely hit or miss. Order at your own risk :-/
