Did you know that Brazos Valley Recycling(you’ve seen the green trucks around town) is a local family owned company that’s been in business for over 40 years? Since my wife is from Japan where they recycle –everything-, it didn’t take long for it to occur to me what a wasteful son-of-a-bitch I have been for way too long. So I called The City of College Station and asked for some curbside bins, gave them my address, they sent a person out and told me that they don’t offer paper or glass pick up services to apartments. Actually I do not live in an apartment, I live in a privately owned fourplex and when explaining that The City of College Station told me that it «looks like an apartment». So whatever, screw those ignorant bastards. My search for how to live better continued… And then suddenly I found this mecca of green dumpsters on the Texas A&M University Campus. It’s on Adriance Lab Road just off University Drive West on West Campus across the street from the Veterinary Research Lab Addition, directly across from the School of Rural Public Health. The bins here are for paper and cardboard, all types of plastic, aluminum and all types of glass. Yeah! So, have more stuff to dispose of than will fit in your car? Shouldn’t be a problem as every single person that lives in or near the State of Texas has a 1st degree of separation from at least 6 other people that drive pick up trucks.
