Gave 2 stars bc the service in deli was great. However, we were quite disappointed w the front end service. Went through the self checkout and it felt like we were in our own. We needed the cashier to clear is for alcohol so only thing on the console was«waiting on cashier». We were the only ones in the area and she was busy talking to another cashier instead of attending to her duties as I stood there waiting. Neither made an effort to greet me nor acknowledge I was even standing there. After I went over there to ask her to do it we had another issue w the terminal locking up. Again she was inattentive even as we three stood there looking at her. Additionally, her«MIC»(manager) Brian was standing there and looked at us needing assistance as we waved him down to help. Instead of coming over and offering aid(notoriously outstanding service other locations are famous for), he glanced at us, turned, and walked away. You’d think it was unusual for people to be standing there for 5 minutes doing nothing… Anyway, evidently this location has a reputation for ignoring patrons and it’s become an acceptable thing. We come up here to visit friends and family and this is the first time inside this location, and it will be our last. There’s another location in CS and we will be sure to go there next time since we are evidently a bother to assist.

In my opinion, HEB is the best overall grocery store in the College Station area. The store is always clean and well-stocked. They also carry a good variety of foods, including sushi, organic foods, and a large selection of wine. Their associates are friendly and courteous, and they have always been willing to help me when I’m trying to find something. I don’t think you can find a better grocery store in College Station!

Love this place. Some of their items seem overpriced– specially their store products when compared to big brands, but quality stands out. Clean, organized and packed with great variety of choices! Appreciate the focus on organic foods and the sushi spot. Great customer service overall.

The male manager was extremely rude when my car was damaged by their parking spot blocks. It had a rod sticking up, I couldn’t back out, and the rod tore the protective plastic under my car. I told him I don’t want to have to replace it on my own and he respond saying nothing in the parking lot is their responsibility… When the sign only says damage by shopping carts aren’t. Their infrastructure is not a shopping cart. He preceded to say that it’s my fault because of the way I parked and if I had just parked more to the other side(which I didn’t have space to do when I parked), then I wouldn’t have had the issue. He was very rude and insisted that it’s my fault and HEB is in no way responsible. If corporate is satisfied with this manager’s response, I’m deeply disappointed with the company and they have just lost several customers.

The HEB bakery bagels are better than Panera’s bagels. They have a selection of great hummus. Even the sushi is good. The prices are normal. You’ll never wait to check out. It’s the most sophisticated grocery store in BCS, for sure.

Love getting groceries here. From reserved parking for parents with children, to helpful staff, to fresh produce to quick checkouts– this place has it all covered. I have rarely seen long lines at checkout– the checkout crew are that fast!

The best grocery store in BCS and Texas! I can’t even begin to tell you how much my family and I love this grocery store. The products offered are in a wide variety and HEB’s own unique products are also very good and invoke a little Texan pride each time you try them. Not only this but the generic brand(HEB Organics, Central Market, Hill Country Fare, HEB) all compete with the major brands in quality and flavor. Without a doubt the introduction of the HEB Organics brand which prohibits GMO’s and other additives is my favorite brand. They offer this healthy alternative to other brands and other ingredients which I really like. Also they recently just released an app on the App Store/Google Play Store that allows you to search the stores’ products, make recipes, and even use Digital Coupons. The digital coupons are something that make it as easy as the touch of a button to get savings! Not only that but the coupons are different then those in the store! Can’t beat that! I encourage anyone to try HEB and not only compare the prices and quality of food but also the level of customer service. Each customer is treated like a member of the family in that you are left with the desire to come back, unlike how I feel when I leave Kroger or Walmart. Although I know no place is perfect, if I have ever had an issue, the employees made it easy to clarify issues. So I hope this review makes you want to try HEB and compare it to the supermarket near you!

LOVE this HEB and shop here everyday! But Kayla in the meat dept needs to be trained to serve the customers, not argue with them. .. . bought 4 lobster tails and when I told her which ones I wanted she told me they are all the same. Believe me, lobster tails are not all the same, and the weight is averaged. .. .

I do not use this H-E-B location much since it is generally not on my route to or from home. It is not quite as upscale as the H-E-B Tower Point off of Fitch but it carries pretty much the same things as the other H-E-B’s located around the area. The one thing that is different is that it has a coffee bar, nice touch and I usually see them in stores in Austin, Houston and San Antonio. This location probably caters more to the students as their international section is not very large but then again the BCS Asian Grocery Market is just up the road. Staff are friendly and helpful.

How often do you check your receipt at a grocery store? I always do this at this HEB(and the other one in College Station). Try it yourself, and you’d be surprised. Why? Because once every 2 – 3 visits I am overcharged. This typically happens with the items that are«on sale», typically fruits or vegetables. Today, I was overcharged $ 1 on a $ 2 honeydew melon. That is 50% more! (… and about 5% of my today’s, relatively small purchase.) Sometimes, the price difference is even higher(I remember as high as $ 5 overcharge for one item!) If I notice it at the cashier, it takes time them to send somebody to check the price and then to do the adjustment. When I don’t notice until after the check is finalized and paid, I have to go to the customer service, sometimes wait until other people are helped, and then again wait until they check for the price label in the correct department. Most of the time it happens, and especially at the customer service, they don’t even bother to apologize. But they always have the same well rehearsed excuse: «We have many items, and the prices changed every week, and so we make mistakes». Well, if you do a mistake, you go and fix it, don’t ya? On more than one occasion, when I came back in a day or two, before Wednesday when the sale changes, and I am overcharged again for the same item. They don’t bother to fix it. Today’s visit was on Saturday, in the evening. The sale started on Wednesday. So, for half a week, including a half of the weekend, they’ve been overcharging all customers 50% on these honeydew melons! And I am sure(and according to their«logic» and statistical analysis, that there must be other items that are also charged a wrong price. And after some 6 years in BCS, I am yet to see any of the prices to be wrong in the other direction. So, overcharging everybody some 1−2% of the entire purchase on average must be systematic. It might not that much on a single purchase scale, but«a billion here, a billion there, pretty soon, you’re talking real money.» as the former US senator Everett Dirksen once said. This store doesn’t have the policy where an item that was charged the wrong amount is given to the customer for free(as it is done in many if not most big supermarket chains around the country). So, the store has no downside for making their frequent«mistakes» that increase their profits. And how many customers check their HEB receipt every time(or at all)? I leave the judgments if it is a store-level scam or not to the reader. How often do you check your receipt at HEB? I always do it here!

Great HEB in College Station. This is a million times better than getting shot or stabbed at Krogers down the street. The produce here is always fresh, and the staff is super helpful when you find them. They have a large isle of GLUTEN-FREE items which I’m in love with. As well as the same gluten-free bread they use at Grub Burger Bar. They do cary Nutella which is Heaven sent mixed on some strawberry non-high fructose corn syrup and NOM away you go YO. I’m going to make one right now, brb. okay back, HEB also has great bathroms if you need to stop in real quick. They do have a pharmacy as well as a great floral selection of goodies.

Did you know you can eat fresh hot prepared to order seafood in this grocery store? Well… It would have been nice to have a Central Market like HEB promised to their employees and the community for years, before revealing that they lied. But, thanks to the good man, Rudy, Owner/Founder/Chef of El Vale Mexican Tex Mex Fusion in Bryan whom I affectionately refer to as the«Shrimp God of Brazos Valley». He gave me a gift of how-to which backs my betokening of his knowledge of that tasty crustacean. He said to order the meat market to steam some fresh gulf super jumbos, and squeeze some lemon juice on them. And eat them INTHESTORE. Okay, so I asked the meat counter to pick 4 of those super expensive, giant fresh gulf shrimp(last night) and steam them with lemon juice. Well, they didn’t have juice but they did put lemon pepper on them. The process took 10 minutes, went back and were handed a plate, took them to the TV area with tables by the deli and chowed down on those super hot, perfectly steamed crunchy things. Now, some say your food tastes change every 7 years and I call bullshit on that. I have loved shrimp since the day I first tasted it when I was 4. And having them use that steamer(something I just so happen to not have in my home kitchen), the shrimp were ludicrously delicious. Thanks Rudy /Shrimp God of the Brazos for showing me something I love in this store.

I hate feeling like a burden, as I check out, I get this vibe! If I’m going to come in and spend a lot of money, I don’t want to feel like a problem. If you’re going to hire kids, please make sure that they have their priorities straight.

Extremely sad that north texas doesn’t have HEB, only Central Market :( HEB has a huge candy selection. Where else can you find mini sour patch straws?

When school is in session this must be the busiest HEB in Texas. It’s a great place to pick up some store made tortillas to build a Layne’s chicken soft taco. The new HEB over past Rock Prairie has a better selection of… well, everything. But this HEB still gets 4 stars for convenience and for being better than all of the other nearby grocery stores.
