Love the hotel and everyone else at this hotel except for Robert, the overnight lobby clerk. I was working in College Station Saturday and not planning on staying the night and then got in a car accident totaling my car, doing so at about 1 am. We had over 50,000 honors points and so when we knew we would be spending at least one night we thought awesome we can just use our points. Well trying to book the hotel the system was down. We were like well we will just pay for the room and deal with the rest in the morning. by the time that we got to the hotel after dealing with the accident it was at 2am. We were tired and frustrated, as anyone would be after just totaling your car about 3 hours from home. We get to the hotel and told Robert that we needed a room. We asked him if he knew what was going on with the system and his snippy response was it shouldn’t be down I don’t know what you did wrong. Again it being so late we were like whatever lets get the room. Robert said he was sorry for the issue with the rewards system but he had nothing to do with it, although you could tell through his tone that he was not sorry, then he said if we didn’t calm down he would not check us in. I thought wait we aren’t yelling, we are raising hell, just frustrated over the long night. My boyfriend said that he just wish they could take better care of their honors members and Robert then handed the cash we gave him for the room back to us and told us to leave. My boyfriend walked out. I stayed and very calmly apologized and asked to please just let us check in we didn’t have a car(rental place was not open that late) we just gotten in the accident and that really had no place to go. His response was leave or I am going to call the cops. I will be contacting the hotels manager and Hilton Honors headquarters. I hope they have volume on the camera and can review the tapes so they can see that Robert has no issue turning away people when they are in desperate need for a room, have the money(and points) to stay the night. All we wanted was to get to the room and fall asleep. I understand that people have bad days but if you are working in customer service you can’t bring that to work, I don’t know if this is just him every day, but the way he acted was like I have power here so I am going to use it whether it is warranted or not. Hopefully they will remove him from a front position and put him some place in the back so that he doesn’t have to interact with customers since he obviously does not like to do so.

Let me just say, I have NEVER written a bad review about a hotel, but here goes. I stay at Hilton hotels 90% during the year for work(I am a Diamond member). However, I will never stay at this hotel EVER again. I am relocating to the new Hilton Garden Inn ASAP. The service at this hotel is terrible. They act as though you work for them. I get several perks being a Diamond member, and when I had to ask for some of them(like a complimentary bottled water), they argued with me, to the point where I was like, forget it. They screwed up my reservation, and then the lady had the gall to say it was my fault! And here’s the real dumb part: I have a long-standing reservation every week, Monday through Friday, so they make a killing off me, right? But they told me I couldn’t book a room on Thursday night bc of graduation, and here’s the kicker, UNLESS I was willing to pay close to $ 300. Wait, what!!! So they’d rather make a ton of money off one person, for one night, and piss off a regular Hilton customer who makes them a ton of money week in and week out? Pure craziness. Now I can handle bad service, so long as the room is nice. But no. I guess they did a remodel, but it is like putting lipstick on a pig. The rooms are grossly outdated. The fridge is so loud, I can’t think. It ticks like a grandfather clock, only faster, louder and more annoying. The smoke detector does this crazy strobe lighting that only gets brighter when the lights are out. The ac unit is super loud and the walls are paper thin. I can hear every little noise from next door. There is a teeny tiny fitness room with ONE treadmill and no weights. The breakfast is terrible. I second all the bad reviews to that effect. The only thing good I have to say about this hotel is that they have some pretty Christmas decorations. That’s it.

Plus Staff — Front desk friendly, helpful. Cleaning crew never missed a day. Nice looking exterior and pool/hottub. This hampton IS the best one in town. Neutral Room — Nice larger room — BUT sleeper sofa and carpet wasnt clean. stained. Used spare sheets on everything. Minus Everything Else — Internet speed way too slow — miserable via all methods — wifi, hard wire OR business center. Confirmed with 3 computers and guests. they have a real problem with internet. Breakfast way downhill vs old Hampton days. it’s not worth much. Will take own food next time.

We had scheduled a stay here for my sister’s graduation from Texas A&M. However, my sister did not end up graduating May 2013. When I found out the graduation was not going to happen for my sister, I called to cancel my reservation in March 2013. However, I just noticed my credit card was charged. I called to have the charges reversed since we didn’t stay here and I had canceled my reservation. However, the manager would not help me out saying they had no record of the cancellation. I am disgusted at the horrible customer service from this hotel.

One of the worst nights of sleep I’ve had due to mechanical noise in my room. NOTE — problem could be unique to my room, and not in other rooms on the property. Loud refrigerator(on the up-side — hey! A fridge in a Hampton room!). Bathroom vent never shut off(on the up-side — hey! Air circulation!) Both added up to a really terrible night of sleep. I agree with other comments that the hotel is nice and shiny and new. Smells great. Carpet feels clean. Spacious layout of public and private areas. It can’t be a new property, however(I don’t think). They have only 1 elevator for the 3-floor property(who would do that with new construction?). And the showers are old-style. Still, if just a remodel, it is a nice treat. As the other commenter says, I am a frequent Hilton lodger. This is my third Hampton in less than a week, in fact, so this isn’t a dodge on Hamptons overall.

Regular Hilton Honors traveler — one of the nicer Hampton Inns I’ve stayed in. New décor with no wear and tear showing, despite busy weekends and conference traffic. Definitely much nicer, with a better lay out for breakfast & lobby area, than the Hampton Inn on Texas Ave. But, not a fair comparison with a 20+ yr old property. Décor is modern French Provence — nice color palette, comfy chairs and bed & lux bathroom. Only complaints — noisy halls(at times) and plastic cups for water and coffee.
