Pros: + They have a huge variety of Kolache’s + Extra points for keeping veggie and meat Kolache’s separated for us germaphobes and vegetarians + they replace the meat Kolache’s every few hours + relative inexpensive for their quality — a fruit Kolache’s was about $ 1 + Unilocal check-in-offer for buy 3 get 3 free! Cons: — they only make fruit Kolache’s in the morning Al– if they’re out, no more of those flavours until tomorrow. They were out of most of the flavours I really wanted — poppy seed, lemon, and apricot. — Workers are sweet but a little inefficient. They couldn’t remember what they still had in stock and had to keep running back and forth to check. I really wish the cashier had just gotten a bag bagged what I wanted first and then charged me. I ended up having to change my order three times(because they were out of half the Kolache’s) and then I had to repeat the order a few times. I still ended up getting a different order than what I wanted. Oh well :(. Anyways, they do have decent Kolache’s but avoid coming here when you are in a rush.(Allow at least 30 minutes to get in and out of the door).

Best Kolaches in College Station! Call ahead for breakfast orders as the line is usually out the door in the mornings.

Line out the door for what? 2 people working. Cold kolaches in the bag. Out of their bubba-buns and not enough workers to make more. Their«small» kolaches are just that. Small! Doubt I’ll go back next time I’m in college station.

In a world where there is much uncertainty, Kolache Rolfs always comes through! Can’t give 5 stars only because it’s just counter service, but the staff is always friendly. Every once and while the kolaches are sometimes a tad doughy as if they were in a rush to get them out and instead sacrificed quality. My hand’s down fave is the jalapeño ham and cheese. The jalapeño bacon cheese for some reason is always dry. The Slovacek sausage is great as well. On weekends they have sausage breakfast squares. It’s basically a breakfast pie made with kolache dough as the crust and stuffed with pan sausage, scrambled eggs, and cheese. Bonus tip: If you’re there after 12 on Sundays, they sell the kolaches for half price since they have to close at 12:30!

Wish there was a half star. 3 is: this was good, I’ll be back; and 4 stars is they did something to charm me to earn an extra star. Kolaches are good. Not warm– that would have charmed me. Fruit Kolaches were all gone so I left with a bag of day old. Tasty but not charm me good. But my family of six is full and happy– that’s charming. 3 ½ stars.

Food: same quality as other two stores. Service — need major improvement: 1 star Maybe I caught them on an off day? No smiles or greeting(Saturday, January 11). The young lady was friendly but declined to accept the«buy 3 get 3 free» Unilocal coupon by saying that«we do not offer this on weekends.» There are no such fine prints on coupon and I have used the same coupons at other locations on weekends. So I disagreed, and she went back to the kitchen to check. A lady in her 40s, probably the manager of the store(although I hope not!), came out. She had a frown and an impatient look the whole time(about 10 minutes) I was there. The cold demeanor took an even worse turn when she took my order and accepted the coupon. Not barking at me is the best civility she could manage. My take: 1. If you don’t like the coupon, withdraw the offer from Unilocal!Don’t find lame excuses to get out of a contract. Don’t give attitude to a paying customer. 2. Given the experience, I would say the food is NOT worth a revisit. The other two locations are much more pleasant.

A week ago, on Dec. 20, I drove by this place in the morning, saw that it was open and decided to come back for lunch. I drove to it, even though I was right near another place to eat, where I would have gone otherwise, — just to kiss the closed door. At 12:20pm, they just closed for today, despite the fact that their hours are until 2pm. There was no note on the doors earlier or at the time. A woman working their was still inside, and when I asked her through the crossbars of the door from the attached print-shop, she told me that they would be closing earlier for the entire week. I was very disappointed that I drove there for nothing, and expressed that, she just shrugged, not caring to offer any kolaches or even to simply apologize for the inconvenience. To my question why they would not have posted new(temporary hours), — she told me that they would do that. I guess, I won’t be back soon. I gave 2 stars only because I had some reasonable(albeit far from the best) kolaches before.

I went here with my mom for breakfast one morning. I had a deal for two fruit kolaches and a coffee. To my joyful surprise, I found that the coffee was a frappuccino! Even more bang for my buck. I ordered a poppyseed kolache and my mom got a blueberry. The bread is always so tasty here. Like a sweet Hawaiian roll but better. Then the filling is like a fresh thick compote. Very tasty. The poppyseed was good, but I really liked the blueberry even better. I’ve also had raspberry and cheese before. All flavors are really good; just depends on what you’re feeling. I would like to come back and try the prune, peach, and pineapple flavors. I got a Kona mocha. It was very good. The blended ice was just the right texture. Sweet but nothing like the sweet overload at Tully’s coffee. My mom(who doesn’t like sweet drinks like this) liked the frapp too. They have day-old bags that are 50% off and also a Unilocal deal for buy 3, get 3 free kolaches. I want to use this sometime. Nice people who work here, clean store, very cute pig paintings on the wall. Tasty food, great price. Love it and would like to return!

There is a Unilocal coupon! Got the sausage one and I have to say it is delicious. There are actually two sausages — 0.88 and 1.80?. The The 0.88 cent one is a lot smaller compared to the 1.80 but they are both savory. The smaller one has a smoky taste to it. Got the ham and cheese one since the bacon and cheese one was out. The ham and cheese tastes bland as compared to the bacon and cheese one.

Who doesn’t love the juxtaposition of dense sweetbread and salty Slovacek sausage, especially when you add cheese?!! As one who always makes a pit stop in a little place called West, Texas, I know that there are few skilled hands who can create a perfect kolache. My friends, Kolache Rolf’s has the perfect ingredients! Breakfast or lunch — they’ve got the sweet, salty, and savory to make your day right.
