Do not go there if you are expecting a french bakery. They don’t have bread and what they try to sell is sweet and tastes like a cake.

Going to give it another chance. First visit was not so great. I will update my review afterwards.

Really great empanadas and iced mochas! Fair prices as well. The woman who works here is extremely nice, which makes the experience even better. The décor is super cute, yellow and purple based, and the menu is on a giant chalkboard. Overall, it’s a wonderful local bakery and coffee shop!

My Daily Bread has is great! I have been there twice now & tried about 8 different breads. We’ve loved everything, especially the sweet Guatemalan breads! They also serve coffee & espresso, which I am really looking forward to trying. Very reasonable prices and would highly recommend!

The bakery looks clean. Interior is very hipstery and I liked that a lot. The service is friendly, and courteous. The smell… the smell of fresh bread is amazing! You can eat there or take to go. I don’t think they have coffee though. I took one star off for lack of variety — they have quite a few things, but I have seen similar sized stores with more stuff to offer.

I love this place! I went to visit after a friend told me that it was a Guatemalan bakery so I was dying to check it out! It is a unique place, something different from the usual coffee/bakery shops in college station! The service was incredible and the gentleman at the register was very nice and super helpful in letting me know the different kinds of sweet breads that they offer. I chose the«gusanito» sweet bread and it was delicious, it was fresh, and it reminded me of home. I will totally be going back and trying the other kinds of sweet breads that they have to offer!

I feel bad for reviewing this place so lowly, but honestly it just doesn’t hold up. I’ve only been once, and I’ve only ordered 3 scones, so don’t take this review to heart. I was pumped for a new, local bakery to open up minutes away from campus. I ordered the cranberry, cinnamon-raisin(?), and maple scones. They all tasted okay, maybe a bit on the less-flavorful, more bread-y side. One big gripe I have is that the texture was just not there. I love scones for their crunchy outside and lovely inside, but I just didn’t get that here. I’ll go back and update my review sometime, but for now, this place is just okay.

We live nearby and I finally went in one day last week to try them out, in mid-afternoon, getting one of everything on hand. Not surprisingly, they were between bakings of their most popular roll, but everything else was wonderful, each in its own way. Especially lovely were the cinnamon rolls, a perfect balance of tender and meaty, and perfectly good without any icing, but I also liked the anise buns, that looked like French brioche. The kolaches were the weakest offering, but they are not the specialty, and their dough was still very nice. There is an espresso machine, but it either wasn’t working or it didn’t occur to the hard-working baker to offer me some, even though the coffee in the air-pot was all gone except for a(tasty) drop. Despite the name, don’t expect to buy bread on Sunday, at least not yet. Just do what I did, and load up when you can, freeze, and enjoy all week!

My Daily Bread Bakery is a Guatemalan panaderia: bakery that specializes in Guatemalan breads and pastries. This place has been under construction the whole summer and I was really anxious waiting for it to open. I had remotely followed the evolution of the store from its beginnings as a very small shop, which suffered from being difficult to find. It used to be located in a very small corner just north of the A&M campus. I learned about this bakery from a few Unilocal reviews during my search for homemade breads. Unfortunately, I never ventured out of my way to its unknown corner to try the food. Everything, though, looked and sounded amazing. I followed the shop owner on Facebook and drooled over her scones, cinnamon rolls, breads, etc. When I saw that they were going to open in this new location, I was too happy. After weeks and weeks of waiting, I heard it was finally open. I went last Sunday, but it was closed(closed Sundays, should have checked!) Determined to finally achieve my year-long wait for the breads and pastries from My Daily Bread, I went the next day. The interior of the store is vibrant and really recreates the atmosphere you expect in Guatemala or other South/Central American countries. The walls are purple and yellow and Guatemalan(?) music sings through the store. She has a little display case for her breads and sweets, a front window-facing table with high chairs and a round table in the center of the store. They even have a bathroom and sell some authentic, imported Guatemalan snacks and sodas(think Takis and hot sauce but from Guatemala). They also serve Guatemalan coffee, which I did not try that day, having my own. I started chatting with the owner to learn what the breads were and how her bakery came to be. The owner is a sweet woman named Gabriella. Her Guatemalan husband requested her to try making Guatemalan breads, because he missed them so much. She tried it out, worked to improve her recipe, and eventually came to a product that her husband gave the thumbs up for. She had successfully recreated the breads of his home. What BCS residents may not know is that there is a large Guatemalan population in BCS. Gabriella began selling the breads to the Guatemalans in town, but eventually the demand got too high; she needed a store to really sell her products at the level she was. That was how the little store opened on the corner, but as detailed above, she needed an accessible and bigger store. Now, to the breads themselves. The Guatemalan bread is basically like pan dulce, but she also has a version that is less sweet, more like bread and has anise seed inside. Then she has some sweet empanadas, shortbread of sugar cookie, homemade kolaches(sweet or savory), and cupcakes. Everything is really affordable and there is a discount for purchasing over 5 pan dulce. She sometimes makes cinnamon rolls, scones, biscotti, etc. She sometimes posts them on her Facebook( ), so follow her there to see what new stuff she is baking up! I got the pan dulce, the anise bread, a sweet roll(basically pan dulce rolled up with some sugar powder filling), and a pineapple empanada. Everything, I repeat, EVERYTHINGWASSOGOOD. I wanted to eat it all right then and there but I had to stop myself from carbo-loading like a beast, plus I needed to share it. The breads and empanadas are SOOOMUCHBETTERTHANTHELOCALLAMICHOACANA. She does not skimp on the filling in the empanada either. Everything was just sooo good. Even my boyfriend(grew up on El Bollilo sweet breads) gave the nod of approval. There is a reason that all the Guatemalans love Gabriella’s bread. If you want to discover fantastic, HAND-MADE pan dulce and more, come here and try Gabriella’s goods, because they are GOOD! Plus, she is so sweet so you feel welcome. I am very impressed by this bakery and am glad I waited a year for this to open and that I stayed in Texas to be able to try this place out. It is a must for me now, every time I travel back to College Station.

Well hell yeah — a new place to get breakfast right across the street from Texas A&M University. Sweet bread, cinnamon rolls, sausage kolaches(pineapple stuffed bread). Enjoyable new retail location which is much more convenient than the original location off in a neighborhood by South College. Friendly staff, fair prices. If you order kolaches make sure to ask them to warm them.
