Not sure about the October review Greg posted but this is now a cafeteria that makes 1 – 2 things each day. They generally look/taste stale and most employees tend to pack their lunch or go out. Would not recommend this to anyone

Évaluation du lieu : 4 College Station, TX
Stopped by College Station’s newest restaurant for a late lunch today. It opened at 7:30 this morning in the Cognizant Building right across the street from the South College Station Lowes and Towerpointe HEB. You park in visitor parking enter the lobby and sign in with security and are escorted to the restaurant. The name should be a no-brainer as to whom is behind Stover Café Express. It’s Charles Stover formerly of Stover Boys Burgers on Wellborn and Stover Bros Café in Village Foods. Presently of Flip & Peel Burgers and Fries in the Post Oak Mall, Primo Pizza on Walton and soon to be Salad Creations also in the Post Oak Mall. I was initially impressed with the size. There were few other customers remaining as I showed up right before closing time(It closes at 2:30 pm daily). In addition to the very large, open and comfortable seating it is nice and quiet with CNN on a pair of large flat panels, and even has outdoor seating. As I have always been a fan of Stover’s creations I went with the very newest incarnation of the Stover Burger. Had a double cheeseburger which they pulled out of a hot hold. I was like«what the heck?» This one is now on wheat buns and the cheese was melted perfectly. While there was a toppings bar I didn’t add anything to it. The burger had the classic Stover flavor and beats McDonald’s, Burger King, etc. hands down. I beleive it’s better than What-A-Burger as it tasted much fresher and less mass produced-like. Also had the Chili Cheese fries which was a massive portion. It had been a few years since I have tasted those and missed them. The Chili was home made like what used to be in Stover Bros and I instantly recognized that same flavor. Something was a tad different with the chili and I was told that was because it’s «Day 1». What that means is that the Chili was made today. They were supposed to make it yesterday but could not because they didn’t have the Health Department permit yet. I had known in the past that Stover Chili is normally over 48 hours old intentionally as they say it helps the flavors meld more. All I know is that it’s better than my average home made chili! The drink selection consists of fountains and I forgot to ask if they will offer premium drinks in the future but I am guess they will as every Stover restaurant in the past and present always have a real sugar option drink. So there you have it folks. Fans of Stover burgers now have even another new version to try where you can top it yourself with a huge amount of seating and an interesting new menu. There are also menu request cards asking people to pick their favorite foods and vote by the end of November. Apparently there will be another new menu based on customer input. Interesting. I’m going to vote that they bring back Stover Fried Chicken.
