Excellent sushi in Collierville. Nice and quiet unlike Osaka. Have no idea why this place wouldn’t be packed during lunch. Enjoyed it and will be back.

Came here with a co-worker to celebrate his 25th b-day as it’s his go-to restaurant and followed his lead by also ordering his fave dish — the Chirashi bowl. It was nice to get a complimentary hot towel when we sat down, but I found the complimentary miso soup flavor to be a bit weak. Still both of these were a nice welcoming gesture. Service was also attentive and the folks came down to check on our table a couple of times during the meal. So I really liked the Chirashi bowl. I would call it a deconstructed sushi roll as you have two pieces of 4 different kinds of raw fish, 2 triangular pieces of a thick omelet, 1 piece of shrimp, squid salad, 2 pieces of pickled radish, 2 crab sticks and a small size seaweed salad put on top of a rice bowl. Wasabi and ginger is also included on the side of the rice bowl and then a separate dipping bowl for the soy sauce is also provided. The lunchtime cost for this bowl was $ 10 and I found it very reasonable cost wise, but also walked away from the meal feeling full, but not heavy. Based on the lovely pieces of raw fish we got, I think their sashimi might be worthwhile coming back and trying. Note: #93 of Unilocal 100 challenge for 2016

Best sushi in town. Their sushi are much better than Osaka’s. The tuna tataki is the best version I’ve ever had. The restaurant doesn’t have hibachi, it’s a small sushi place. If you are a sushi lover, this is definitely the right place.

This is my husband and I’s favorite sushi restaurant. The sushi is always fresh and the service is always excellent. Our favorites are the Rock ‘N’ Roll roll and the Chili roll. My husband always judges a sushi place by its crawfish roll and, so far, Fuji has been the best! Our 3-year-old son is a HUGE fan of their chicken-fried rice, of which he eats an entire adult portion! We love the personal service, including the hot towel and free miso soup for everyone who walks in. We’ve been going here for nearly 10 years now and will continue to support this restaurant.

I come to this sushi place about twice a week. It’s my go to for some good vegetarian options. Their yakisoba is delicious. The sushi is amazing and fresh. The best part is how nice and personal the waitstaff are. I’ve never had an issue here. If you’re looking for a good sushi place, try this one out!

I’m upset with myself for not eating here before now. Judging by the bento box lunch I had this place is right on! Shrimp and vegetable tempura very well done with some sashimi and half order of California roll. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. The sushi roll had very little rice around it which kept me from having to peel some off like at some places. It came with a decent house salad and a quite good cucumber and squid salad. Maybe the hottest wasabi I’ve ever had. It burned all the way down! No doubt I will be back to try several good sounding items on the menu.

Love this place for some good vegetarian sushi and tempura. Always greeted by a friendly face and seated right away. Sushi and tempura is good and reasonably priced. Rolls are plenty big for the price on the menu. I recommend this place as a good sushi restaurant.

I come here pretty regularly and pick up food. The employees here are so friendly and one thing I really like about Fuji café is the serving size. I always get avocado rolls and they are very large in size, much bigger than any other sushi place I’ve been to.

Wow. Yet another gem hidden in a strip mall. Walk in, get my table, and get(1) hot towel,(2) hot miso soup, and(3) my drink within a minute. Not just fast, the service is also attentive too. Chicken and sushi lunch combo gets a ranking of: «Certifiably excellent.» It comes with a little salad on the plate as well, a spring(?) roll, and a few other things. Very good value for what you pay.

Nice sushi place. Service was good, the ambiance was good, the food was good. I came for lunch so I had the chirashi lunch special. It looks small but there was a lot of food. The fish was fresh and tasty. Rice was also nicely cooked. Would come again.

I can NOT emphasis how amazing this place is! I come here at least once or twice a week and every time has been nothing short of perfection. The sushi is always fresh. I do warn to newcomers that unlike most sushi restaurants around, their rolls are massive! The pieces are sometimes so big, it takes a few bites to eat the whole thing! It’s worth the money though.

I thought this place had potential. As you walk in you are greeted kindly and seated promptly. My waitress brought us a warm hand towel and free miso soup(I love miso soup by the way). To start with, we ordered edamame and some sushi rolls. I enjoyed the California roll and the avocado rolls we ordered, they were tasty. However, I’ve only ever eaten a California roll before, which according to my friend and most people isn’t real sushi lol. So this was my first time trying real sushi. I really liked the salmon roll that we ordered, however I didn’t care for the tuna or octopus. It should be noted though, that my friend who loves sushi said that they were really good. I think sushi is really based on your palate and what you like. In addition, we ordered the Beef Donburi Bento Box. I didn’t really enjoy this dish. It did not come in a Bento box, which really disappointed me and the description on the menu said stir fried beef with veggies over rice, nowhere did it mention it would be stir fried in a teriyaki sauce(at least thats what it tasted like). The dish also came with a side salad, noodles and an orange. I didn’t care for the dish at all and would not reorder it. The beef was soaked in too much sauce and it had a ratio of 70% rice to 30% beef and veggies. I plan to try this place again as I did enjoy their sushi.

Probably one of the best sushi places in Shelby county! Big portion, very fresh ingredients, and excellent combinations of ingredients on the sushi rolls. If you order realize that even the small rolls can feed an army. I only ordered 2 rolls and 2 nigiri for lunch, it was so much I had to share with my friend. Very good food. Service was excellent as well, always available, but never hovering. In short, the ideal restaurant with great offerings.

Fuji Café is not only for your typical sushi or tempura, it also has great nabes or nabeyakis(Japanese soups), something that I often crave a lot. Be sure to ask for«Nanami Togarashi»(Spicy Powder), so you can add a spicy flavor to your nabe. It has the best sushis that I have seen so far in Memphis, they are abundant, big and with a lot more meat than many other places. The same can be said of the other kind of dishes, the tempuras, donburis, and specially the nabeyakis, all of them are delicious. The service is great and it seems that the waitresses have photographic memory, they remember what you asked for before and your preferences… months ago ! Something I don’t precisely see often. The ambiance is quiet and very pleasant. The only thing I don’t like is that they close from 2:30 to 4:00PM. I wonder, why only Japanese restaurants do this ? Nevertheless, At least, I go there once a month.

Fuji is by far the best sushi café in west Tennessee. My friends who visit from California always want to go to Fuji at least once when they ar in town. I prefer the simple sushi: tuna nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls, etc. They also make great specialty rolls if that’s what you like.

I went with a friend last night at 7:30 pm. We went there mainly for the sushi because I’ve heard it’s the best sushi place in town. The place had a few other diners in it, but was otherwise empty. I was delighted by the miso soup, which you get automatically just from coming in and sitting down. They also give you hot towels to use on your hands. I heard the lady giving an explanation of why to a man at at table next to us, but I was talking so much with my friend that I forgot to ask about it as well. But it was also cool and unique. Onto the sushi! they have a decent selection of things to try. We got Shrimp Tempura, Rock and Roll, and Spicy Crawfish. The Shrimp Tempura was perfect. It was very different from what I expected. I expected it to be fried all on the outside, but instead the middle part had been fried(or tempurad) and wrapped in rice. It was delicious and we ate it all up immediately. The Rock and Roll was amazing as well. It came with a spicy mayo sauce that complemented it well. It was too big to comfortably fit in our mouths though. So I would dip it in the sauce, pour some soy sauce on top, and then use a fork to cut it in half and eat half at a time. The spicy crawfish was the last thing we tried and it was ok. It wasn’t as good as the other two rolls, but it was still really good. The BBQ Salmon Roll was excellent by itself without any soy sauce. The Chili Roll was good(which says something since I hate cream cheese in my sushi). It tasted better with soy sauce, in my opinion. The Yaki Udon was ok but I think I will try their other noodles as I like my much thinner and these were really fat. My friend also got a ginger salad and chicken fried rice. The ginger salad was ok, but the ginger dressing wasn’t as strong as I’ve had at Stix. Their chicken fried rice was terrible. It was dry and tasteless and we didn’t finish it nor take it home with us(which is a big deal because I have been known to take other people’s food home from restaurants if they didn’t want it). Summary: I would definitely come back. I also would love to try some of their main course as I am looking for a good Japanese place. Awesome-Sauce: — Shrimp Tempura($ 5.25) — Rock and Roll($ 8.95) — Snow Mountain Roll — Spicy Crawfish($ 4.95) — BBQ Salmon Roll — Miso Soup Ok: Yaki Udon(vegetarian) — Ginger Salad — Chili Roll — Avocado Roll Nopers: — Chicken Fried Rice — Cucumber Roll

Stopped by for lunch and sat at the sushi bar. i was greeted immediately by a smiling face, warm towel and some miso soup. Started off with a bowl of seaweed salad which was great along with the portion size. Finished up with several pieces of regular and yellow fin tuna along with some eel as well. Everything was very tasty, fresh and as always, the portion size of fish they give you is on the healthy size. One of my favorite places to go for lunch in Collierville.
