We just went to grab some books and the place is closed-empty too. Anyone know what happened to Mary Alice?

I hate doing this. I hate giving a used book store a two-star rating, but I must. Aside from the fact that they don’t have too many exciting titles and the space is cramped, they also boast extremely high prices for used books. I was holding a book that looked like it was two seconds from falling apart, asked for the price, and was told it was half of what was marked on the book. The book was originally $ 14. You think I’ll pay $ 7 for a book that has either sat in a basement for a long time or has been read by at least 20 people with unclean hands? Please. You’re much better off walking down the street to the library, or to pretty much any other used book store. Unless you like romance books, because they have a whole separate room for those.

I finally got here after living in Collingswood for over two months. Mostly because they have a pretty tight schedule, even on Saturday. The place has some nice finds in the spy thriller/detective sections. However, there aren’t many science fiction/fantasy books, which kinda sucks. The books aren’t necessarily in alphabetical order either, which makes it a challenge to find what you want without spending some time there. One odd thing is that they have a small separate room that is completely stacked with romance/bodice rippers. Reminds me of the old days when they’d have the porn room in the back of the local video store. The prices were pretty reasonable. However, make sure you bring cash because there’s no credit/debit cards accepted here. I’ll probably be back at some point.
