This was a Dinner for New Year’s Eve 2015 — Menu was a set for a set price which was fine — but they run out of dessert — their Tira Misu, ice cream and turon(fried banana). So they instead serve a dry, cake not fit for the occasion. The event was disorganized — the DJ was not around when we have to request a song. The favors came by the boxes and people started to grab and cannot wait for their turn to get their share of favors. The DJ did not play Auld Lang Syne which is a must on a NEw YEars Eve — I won’t celebrate my New Year here again. ..

Had Prime Rib last night. The staff was friendly, the food delicious. This was my first time, and I was amazed. I’m coming back.

This review is for the fine dining, no Lucky Chance because we all know all the Asians love Lucky Chance. Again, let me repeat, THEYLOVELUCKYCHANCE. Anyways, I spent my party here. I had a group of about 25 – 30 people. I’m sorry but their food is not exactly«fine dining» material. Not just that, it was pretty bad. We ordered calamari, I didn’t think anyone can screw up on Calamari but this place did. The other food was also mediocre. They ought to re-think their menu. I was really disappointed with their food. The only good thing going for with this place is that their manager is super nice. The staff was also okay and not bad. It’s just their food that was a letdown. I still think about it and I am upset that I spent so much money over the worst food that I have ever had in my life. The only reason I spent my birthday here was because they have balroom dancing on friday nights(which was the day of my party). I don’t know if I have given another, I would not have spent anything here. The only time I will probably come back here again is if they fix their menu and the food.

Rene’s Fine Dining is one of those places I would not go to for late night dining but for that once in a while someones«birthday/special event» restaurant. As many times as I have visited Lucky Chances I did not know this place existed on the other entrance! Come here with your appetite because you will get full! If you’re looking for some quick, Filipino late night dining food go next door to Café Colma. Back to Rene’s: the menu changes all the time so check beforehand to make sure they have selections that you like.

If you are hankering for a decent buffet, Rene’s Fine Dining would be a good place to start. You’re not going to get a 4 or 3 star gourmet buffet but the food is good. I was surprised that their prime ribs were not dry. They were actually moist and generally in any buffets they tend to be really dry. I thought their chow mein/fried rice were really delicious and their mixed vegetables were good. Although, the salmon did not look or smell good, so I would stay away from that. The waitstaff where warm and friendly and maybe it was because the place was a fourth full, doesn’t matter they were still great. Now, the question is, would I came back? Tick tock, tick tock, I sit here wondering. My answer would be yes, I would. Even though they will never compete with Vegas, they are good enough to come back. BTW the price for the buffet is $ 22.00. And that does not include fountain drinks/coffee.

When it comes to late night dining in the Peninsula after clubbing in San Francisco, the two restaurants inside Lucky Chances casino are popular spots. That’s where 12 of my friends and I decided to go last night. Since there were a lot of people at Café Colma, we went for Rene’s. And for $ 15, you basically get an all-you-can-eat, Filipino-style late night breakfast. Honestly, how could you go wrong with that? My friends were shocked when I told them that this was my first time at this restaurant late at night. I’ve been here a couple of times before for dinner, and I think the food then was alright. But as for last night, when I was trying to overcome the drunken buzz, this felt like awesome comfort food. At that time, they were serving garlic rice, scrambled eggs, tapa, longanisa, chicken and pork tocino, and bangus. I went in for 2 rounds before I got full. Because I don’t eat breakfast at home anymore, this definitely brought it all back, sort of like that critic in Ratatouille at the end of the movie. Sure, a few of us were a bit loud, but thankfully, neither the staff nor the people we were sitting next to didn’t seem to care. Actually, I remember that we were even singing to the background music in the restaurant. I suppose we were all in that delusional state, haha. Overall, the staff was very nice when we asked for things like water or tea, and they promptly refilled the food trays when they were empty. I will definitely come back here again for more post-drunk food and fun when the opportunity arises.

I attended my cousins college graduation here. They had a catered buffet and the food was pretty good. Not great, but it was a buffet, so you cant really expect too much from food thats been sitting out. It was a nice location and seated a lot of people. They were also able to provide a projection screen which was nice for the slide show that was shown. There is also a mini dance floor available just in case you wanted to throw a mini party there.

A restaurant inside the Lucky Chances Casino. We usually go out there for Sunday brunch. The waitstaff is always nice and pleasant — nice to always be greeted with a huge smile on their faces. Food selection always varies but they usually have an omelet station, some pancakes, waffles, a nice dessert station, salad bar, smoked salmon, prawns w/cocktail sauce, soups, etc. Entrees usually change but they range from traditional American cuisine to Asian. I believe they charge $ 17+ for Sunday brunch — on regular days. Definitely not bad for the price. Parking can be a hassle though. They have a large lot and good sized basement garage but man — all i can say is, a lot of people really like to gamble!!!
