This place is gone now. It deserved to be gone. I previously ordered a burrito here. The burritos here are smaller than other places for what you pay. No big deal. But I do not like beans in my burrito. So they did just that; not put any beans. After they had rolled it, it looked more like a taquito. Every place I have been just compensated and put more rice. All for that price? Never came back. I could have easily eaten 3 of these«burritos.» The taste was decent. But when you try to jip your customers, this is what happens. I’m sure they would have shut down sooner if it weren’t for their lease.

Gave this place a try, my first impressions were excellent, the cashier/order taker was super polite and attentive. Upon placing my order, which were the Carne Asada french fries, I specifically asked for extra jalapeño’s twice. Upon picking up my order, the person before me also ordered Carne Asada french fries which came without any toppings, as they apologized and fixed the order. I should have checked my order because it was also missing all the toppings and jalapeño’s I specially requested. Service great, but no execution from the hired help, and food was Ok at best. Won’t go back.

Pass Pass Pass!!! do not go here. I would rather go to Taco Bell. Oh how i wish we would have just gone to Chipotle. I got the pollo asada wet burrito and they microwaved it in a styrofoam container. They gave me whatever dreied chicken crumbs that was in the hot tray(that wasn’t hot). Terrible terrible. They cooked my wife’s shrimp(burrito) to order. I think there were 4 shrimp total. The guacamole is like water!

The chilaquiles made me sad. So I was up here for work and decided to grab some food. Was feeling Mexican, did some Unilocaling and found this place right next to the target(was there getting some office supplies). My go to when available has become chilaquiles. Usually this is a breakfast dish of tortilla chips covered in a spicy red sauce, cheese, and eggs. Also every other place serves it with rice and beans. Polanco however nixed the eggs, rice and beans and decided to use green sauce(though the menu says red). I got rice and beans on the side, and suffered through the lack of eggs because I didn’t know they wouldn’t be added til it was too late. The tortilla chips were instantly soggy and turned to mush. The sauce was flavorless. It was all around awful. One thing is the portion was huge… but a huge portion of mushy mess isn’t exactly anything to brag about. The rice and beans were good though… Quick service. Fair enough on the price. I might come back to try a burrito… but I probably won’t.

First of all, I think this is THEBEST Mexican taqueria in Daly City. I work in the area and have had a hard time finding a place that feels clean and tastes delicious. This is by far my favorite! They have Mexican breakfast options all day! All of their salsas are spicy and fresh and amazing(good salsa can be hard to find) ! They have pupusas! They have THEYUMMIEST watermelon agua fresca every time I go. Also, last time I ordered nachos they fried the tortilla chips right then, on the spot. Hot fresh chips! That’s awesome! And the lady that’s usually working there when I go is is very friendly and nice and attentive. The only drawback is that it’s usually a bit chilly since they leave the door open. But what accounts for five of THEBIGGEST stars, is that I left my purse there by accident. Rather than looting or ransacking it and making off with my identity and 100 in cash(a recent gift. I never have that much cash! I’m too damn poor), they gave me a call and saved it for me until the next morning. They could have been assholes and said no one turned it in but they honest and good people. I always feel like good, hard-working, honest people should be rewarded. I’d hug them if it were acceptable. Instead I’ll give them a five star review and tell everyone they should try it out. But regardless of the purse thing, they really ARE the best Mexican in the entire Daly City area.

Food was great, service was good, no real complaints and would stop here again if in the area doing shopping. My wife and I stopped by here after doing some shopping at Target and Michael’s. I had the super nachos and she had a carnitas burrito. Both were good. My wife also had the horchata and she said that was really good.

Can’t beat $ 1.00 tacos. that’s right dollar tacos on Mondays here. Chicken mole is yummy. Only drawback is that they use one tortilla instead of two you get on a truck. but the Mole is too yummy.

I had the California Burrito. Chorizo with French fries and cheese… Freaking amazing. The place was clean and the staff are friendly. The dining area is a bit awkward but I will definitely be back for that burrito.

Wife had an order of the chips and salsa verde. She originally wanted a large family size order of these, but the only person working there was this super old lady who didn’t speak english and my wife didn’t speak spanish, so she ended up only getting a single-sized order, and let it go at that. Thank goodness for the rest of us that she didn’t get the family sized servings. My wife decided to just have the chips and salsa herself as a snack, and then proceeded to get violently ill several hours later. Watch out for poor food handling and cross contamination here. Food poisoning risk! The San Mateo health department recently paid them a visit and they got cited for poor hand washing.

I ordered a super(bad) tostada bowl, and I chose not to finish it because it wasn’t worth eating! The carnitas meat and rice were so bland and tasteless, and it wasn’t even hot when I got it. I’m not quite sure what the tostada bowl was supposed to taste like, but my green(spinach) bowl crumbled a lot and wasn’t too crispy when I tried to eat it. I ordered it without beans, and I asked for a little bit of extra lettuce and sour cream to substitute. They told me that would have to charge me 50 cents for each! Service was pretty bad here. We had to wait a few moments for someone to come out to take our order. I asked them what the difference between the three different colored tostada bowls were, and they never answered me. My friend had the same question and asked them again right after I did, and he was also completely ignored! So we had to ask them a third time when we were ordering. I should have given my money to Chipotle.

A-okay overall. Service is friendly. Came here because I was shopping at Target. The space is cute, with a few dining tables inside, and a TV tuned to sports hanging above the door. Average meat choices(beef, pork, chicken, fish and shrimp), and not enough foot traffic. Not enough customers, so the staff keeps only a small amount of meat in the warmer trays, while the rest is kept refrigerated. Which makes the meat just a little bit tough, compared to freshly grilled meats elsewhere. I got a pair of carnitas tacos($ 1.75 each), which were okay. The tortillas were very soft and fresh, but the meat was a bit dry. Also no salsa bar, so u specify to add mild or spicy salsa while they make your order. Also got some custard filled churros($ 1 each), but they were cold. Other reviews make a big deal about having a bacon wrapped hot dog on the menu, but I don’t consider that real Mexican food. Almost forgot to mention that they also have carne asada fries listed on the menu. I haven’t tried that. It obviously doesn’t compare to Mission taquerias, but I’m sure that the employees who work around this Colma shopping center are glad to have a decent Mexican lunch spot.

Really disappointed… After a day of shipping & errands, we were graving some Mexican fare. Unilocaled this spot & headed right on over. At 4 stars… no need to investigate any further. We ordered a california burrito & chicken enchilada plate. For starters, the order was wrong… We ended up receiving a beef enchilada. Both burrito & enchilada not tasty at all… Meat was tough, the enchilada sauce, in taste & texture… Was like something out of a can. Although the rice & beans were decent. For a plate of tortilla chips was an additional $ 1.50 — /for store bought/stale tortilla chips… The 1 star is actually not even for the food, their saving grace… The woman at the register was polite, even tho our order was not correct.

What’s the origin of the name Polanco? Word on the street has it, that it’s an upper scale section in Mexico City. Whether the owner chose this name for the title of his business is above me, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it actually the case. Tucked inside this Colma plaza between the large conglomerates, Target and Michael’s, is Taqueria Polanco. Quite hidden is this place with no sign where the main road is. So far I’ve talked to a few different people about the specific location and yielded the same question: «Where is this place?» To the baseball coach: «Few stores down from Round Table.» To the mother of three and one along the way: «Near the Carter’s, and a couple stores over from Michael’s.» To the college student: «Next to the Gamestop.» Sadly, this place doesn’t have a local identity to be the answer, «Oh, it’s next to Taqueria Polanco.» They deserve more notice. I came here twice so far, and both times satisfied. Only thing I wish they had was a salsa bar. Salsa bars is to me what an ammunition station is to Rambo. Not many places have the«California burrito» up in Northern California. Basically the burrito consists of fries or potato wedges to be more precise. I ordered a regular burrito the first time, and liked it. So I deviated to another choice and ordered the California burrito. Looks are deceiving because the size isn’t the largest, but it was solid personified. The baby brick was tasty and combined with the fries made each bite a hearty one. Both times, Bun ordered three Mexico City tacos. They were small in size, but with freshly grilled double wrapped tortillas, they carried a mean mixture of awesomeness. She finished them each time in record times. My burrito was around $ 7.50. A little steep for a burrito, but you’re paying for a sure thing. You won’t be left disappointed. Materials used were all fresh and the fact they have a California burrito is a plus. With an overall extensive menu, Taqueria Polanco has almost anything you can think of. They even have a Mexican style hot dog. A hot dog wrapped all the around in bacon. I will personally pass on that not because how good it probably tastes, but because I may like it too much. Give this place a shot, and if you’re brave enough, try the dog!

Just happened to be passing by after shopping at Michael’s and wow that carnitas super taco was mmmmmhhhmmmm good. It was about 3 dollars and it looked and tasted like a $ 5 burrito. They also sell carne asada fries named under california nachos. Will be coming here to try that next time. I also tried their crème filled churros since: $ 5 credit card minimum. The churro was kinda stale and there was barely much filling. Those go for $ 1 for half a churro… not worth it. I would rather have saved those 2 dollars to buy ice cream at target a few doors down.

It was a Saturday afternoon and slighly past lunch time. Bunny and I were thinking of places to go. We didn’t want to go to a sit down restaurant. Then we remembered Tacqueria Polanco. We had notice this before when shopping at Target and Michaels. It was the day after Christmas, so all the returns and after Christmas sales were going on at Target. filling up the parking lot. Finally we find a space and start heading over. It is not a large place and you order first then sit down. We walk in and after looking at the menu for quite some time, I end up going with my usual, soft tacos. I decide on three Mexico city tacos while Bunny gets a California steak burrito. I like that there is no separate charge for different kinds of meat. I get one chicken, one steak and one pork, so I can try each one. The casher is very friendly and nice. Our food is ready shortly. The portions of the tacos are perfect. The meat does not fall out as I roll it up and use my hands to eat. I start off with the steak and am impressed. The squares are cut up and are a good size. Next I have the pork(I think.) The meat has a lot of flavor and is not fat or greasy. Everything is nice and fresh. I did have some trouble figuring out which meat was chicken and pork, but I enjoyed them all to the point where that didn’t matter. I rarely finish eating before Bunny. This was one of the exceptions. I totally forgot to offer him a bite or some of my tacos and by the time I realize this, I am nearly done. Oh well, there is always next time. I see myself returning here.

My boyfriend and I were stopping by to pick up some supplies from Michael’s and he noticed a new taqueria joint next door so we had to stop by. It’s right next door to Game Stop and Carter’s. Probably seats about 30-ish people inside. The place was really clean. It’s big in the front part of the place, then gets small at the back. One way passage. The owner is really nice and very friendly, he was having a conversation with my boyfriend the whole time. We ordered a chorizo burrito, came with chips and salsa and a small drink: $ 9+. The burrito wasn’t as big as I thought it would be, Chipotle burrito’s are bigger than the one we had. But they were nice enough to cut it in half for us. I’ve never tried chorizo before, it tasted really salty(to me), but not for my boyfriend. Overall, the flavors were good and I tasted everything. This place also has a TV so you could watch some TV while you eat. I also like the fact that it’s bright inside :) Overall good experience, I’d love to come back.

My 1st time was good but not great. I think I got a taco and another dish. 2nd time my carnitas were bland. Califrnia was good but not great. The best burritos I’ve eaten are from the mission. Not comparable. Best tacos from taco trucks and the mission, well of course Mexico. Incomparable. Go figure, it’s located in a plaza. Taquerias just don’t belong there.

Cashier made my burrito without washing hands! Yea! The germ transfer went in this exact order: 1) I opened the door. 2) Handed them my cash. 3) They operated the Register and gave me some change. 4) They dug in a huge vat of cheese(FYI that lid is useless at this point), 5) All up and down inside the bag of burritos flopping around like a fish, 6) Smothered the utensils for lukewarm meat scoopage. 7) Germy hands then rolled my burrito nice and tight. 8) Handed back to me. De Nada. Bravo! You just hella contaminated your entire kitchen space and products with God knows what, but you know what I manned up and said oh well! I was hungrier than a vegan at the Texas State Fair. I inhaled my burrito praying to God I didn’t get bubble gut. All in all it was pretty good or maybe it was just one of those times when you’re so freaking hungry that an acorn would taste like a chocolate truffle. Thank God I didn’t get sick but will I come back? Eek probably not unless I am dying for some grub before I fight the Sunday crowd in Target. If you come make sure to bring your iron gut and penicillin for good measure.

Because seriously why are you thinking of getting food inside Target? Came in on a rainy Sunday before my often dreaded Target shopping trip. This place just opened so obviously everything is clean. I ordered a super quesadilla with chorizo. Just as good as your favorite Mission district taqueria. With the convenience of being next to a major shopping area. I’m dinging this place because of the seating. The layout doesn’t make for much seating room in the first place. Not really for sitting down for an extended meal with lots of friends. Otherwise this is my go-to eating spot when I need fuel to shop at Target or Michael’s or BevMo.

Going to Taqueria Polanco has already become a weekly ritual for me since they opened a month ago. They just have way too many things to try and so far everything I’ve had there has been really good! Today I decided to go a la carte and ordered two Al Pastor Super Tacos and finally took the plunge to try their Mexican Hot Dog. The Al Pastor Super Tacos($ 2.50 each) were loaded( ). They were so loaded to the point where it became a challenge to pick them up. But me being the taco expert I am, managed to keep them together and they were pretty good. Though next time I would probably opt for their regular Tacos. I have been very curious about their Mexican Hot Dog since I thought that $ 5.25 for a hot dog was a little steep. I’m definitely glad I picked one up. Check out the Bacon wrapped goodness( ). It was really tasty and it also comes with chips and salsa, so I think it’s a pretty good deal for $ 5.25. Plus, who doesn’t love Bacon on their Hot Dogs? The fact that I don’t have to drive all the way out to the Mission anymore to get a Bacon-wrapped Hot Dog is an awesome plus. I would definitely order another one or two! I think all that’s really left for me is their El Gigante Mega-burrito. I’ll eventually get to tackling it. In the meantime, they’ve definitely earned their 5th star from me!
