Came during happy hour on a Friday. There was a short wait, but we were able to grab a couple seats at the bar. Matt and Scrappy were behind the bar and treated us like family. I saw it as a running theme. Happy hour specials were great, the bar is charming and well stocked, and the food is tasty and well priced. The restaurant on a whole was warm and inviting. I will definitely come back and bring more friends. P. S.- the nachos are HUGE! We split the small order and couldn’t finish!

I’ve been to the red cedar a few times now and even had my bridal shower hosted there. Each time I’ve been there it’s amazing. The service has always been on point whether it’s a table of two or a group of 30 in the back room. I love the creative drinks at the bar and make sure to try something different on the menu each time. One thing never to be missed is the flaming hallumi cheese appetizer!

Came here one time and I can’t believe I haven’t been back yet. Nice looking place and the meal I got… fuhgettaboutit! I got the grilled chicken breast meal. Let me say that it was hands down the best chicken breast meal I’ve ever had. Cant wait to come back.

We had the Sunday brunch buffet and of course over indulged. The bacon was crispy and delicious. Chicken fingers were the best we ever had(dipped them in syrup). The omelette bar had 9 fresh options including real crab. If you like eggs Benedict they have 2 kinds. I loved the crab and spinach, Waitress served, made to order. Included with brunch but not sitting out. Our waitress, Angel, was so attentive and nice. In fact we were impressed how great the entire staff was. Coffee refills offered generously by all staff. Used a Living Social voucher and was happily surprised.

Service was slow. Food was barely adequate. Ordered a prime rib sandwich and a crab soup. The service was slow and when we finally got the food the sandwich was overcooked and dry. The crab soup looked more like snapper soup with little or no crab. The quesadillas were over cooked and looked unappetizing. My corona came with a dried out lime in a glass. I should have sent the whole meal back. The waitress never asked us if we needed ketchup. She was nice and kept apologizing. I saw other people nearby returning food. I wouldn’t recommend you go there. The ambience wasn’t great and there was a trip hazard as you left the main floor.

Came for dinner and were seated quickly by our friendly server. We like the selection of wine and beer and the general atmosphere. The food was just ok. Salads(goat cheese, beet) were both good but needed more dressing. The nachos are enormous — too big to be on the small plates menu and while good, the salsa/Pico de Gallo was way too garlicy. I had a special entrée of roasted lamb — great ingredients but meat was overcooked and not enough seasoning there or on the potatoes and veggies. We may come back as previous visits were better.

Great food, but not much else good to say. I had made a reservation online. The hostess clearly hadn’t checked the computer and was overwhelmed by the line of people waiting. We waited half an hour to get seated… with a reservation. The hostess was clearly flustered and not behaving in a professional manner with the waiting patrons. The atmosphere was loud, and so difficult to have s conversation. Our waitress didn’t know which beers were out of stock for the night and then tried to blame the bar staff for not telling her, instead of taking responsibility for not finding out. She was also young and probably inexperienced. But she didn’t help after we were already tired and hungry from waiting so long. The eggplant special was lovely. The saganaki appetizer was delicious, but very small for the price. If you go, go for the food but don’t expect great service.

Been here a couple times. Went tonight Saturday nite at 7 pm was packed but got in fairly quick. Wife got the veal chop special said it was the best she ever had. I ordered the blt crab cake was pretty good. Beer menus extensive but the bartender was a drink making rockstar he free styled a couple drinks for me all excellent. Waitstaff was attentive also.

My husband and I went back to this place to give it another try. Our first experience wasn’t great but we decided it was worth a second chance. Let’s start with the temperature… Arctic may begin to describe it. It’s 29 degrees outside… Turn on your heat. I ate lunch in a parka. Anyway, we saw the drink menu and got mildly excited about the selection. After two beers not available, the wrong cider and then a flat cider we were already on the path to utter disappointment. The only saving grace was our adorably bubbly apologetic waitress. Wanting to play it simple and order small plates, we ordered the saganaki which is always a favorite of mine to order when available. It was surprisingly delicious and small. Like the size of a dollar bill folded in half. It also came out on a cedar plank the size of a kitchen sink. We also ordered the fries which were also small and lacking the ale cheese that was the selling point to the item. Lastly we got nachos… Not small by any means but lacking in flavor. They were nothing special and left us both dying of too much raw onion. Overall another let down. Good thing the waitress was great and sweet, otherwise it would be one star.

Amazing brunch! Bloody mary was tremendous. Today was a snow day and they worked hard with limited staff to make it great… and it was. We will be back!

Always friendly staff and never much of a wait. They have new and interesting specials each night. they also handle larger groups easily with reservations. Highly recommend! Tonight we had reservations but once we arrived… They told us we were going to have to wait. After sitting us the hostess said she was so sorry for the wait and one appetizer was on the house. We never even mentioned anything but they knew. That is a business that takes cares of their customers and recognizes when they can make situations right. We go every time we are in the area and will continue to go.

This is a fantastic place for some delicious food. The atmosphere is cozy and rustic, and the wait staff is incredibly polite and knowledgable about the food. During the week you can easily walk in without a reservation and get seated immediately. But on a Friday or Saturday night, I suggest making reservations! As for the food, I’ve had multiple items off of the menu and every single one has been delicious. I love crab cakes, so I’ve ordered the Crab Cake BLT more than once and it’s always so tasty. They also have a fabulous Sunday brunch with a buffet and a cook to make eggs and waffles any way you like! You can also order Eggs Benedict and other items a la carte. I always recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere new to go to in the Lansdale/Colmar area. You won’t be disappointed!

We came here after our first 3 options were closed. We showed up as the kitchen was closing, and we asked if they’d like us to leave. We were the only people in there, but they insisted we stay. I felt bad at first, but they were so friendly, and made us feel so welcomed, we didn’t want to leave. Unbelievably great customer service. The staff made us feel welcome to have a great time, instead of just another night out to eat. The food was nothing short of fantastic. Our waiter was funny, and very personable. The way he did his job, with such charisma, made you feel like a friend. Highly recommend a pizza or hamburger, they make their bread fresh, and you can tell. By the time the tip came around, we couldn’t leave a big enough tip. We scraped together every penny we could, and decided that a 160% tip was the least we could leave. I’m not exaggerating, when you visit, 160% won’t seem enough. We came from out of state, but will definitely be seeking this place out again next time we’re in PA.

We went to Red Cedar for brunch on Mothers’ Day. We had made a reservation and arrived a few minutes early which was not a problem because only a few tables were occupied that early. Despite that, they felt a need to seat us in a table at the front that appeared to be storage for extra chairs. They actually had to move the chairs off of our seats while we waited despite a virtually empty restaurant at the time. Once we were seated, we were informed that our coupon would not be expected. There were no exclusions on the website or the coupon itself but they said it is «restaurant’s discretion» and they would not honor it. The final strike was when we were told that the buffet price was higher than we were told on the phone when making the reservation. Again, tough luck, take it or leave it. We decided to leave it and will not be back. I am sure the food is good, as it was on our previous visits. Regardless of how good it is, there are too many other places that have great food and actually seem to care about customers. Red Cedar must be doing so well that they don’t need to care about how they treat people.

Always a pleasure to visit. When in doubt, choose the special. They have a shareable mussels dish but the sauces are pretty hit or miss — we’ve had it be amazingly good but taste watery and bland another time… I would definitely go back again as they are always adding new items to their menus and experimenting with different things. We’ve also participated in their brunch. There were some interesting things but nothing special enough to open an hour earlier on a Sunday morning for… The omelette station is nice but reminded me very much of a complimentary hotel breakfast with the buffets setup. Egg frittata was pretty good. Overall, this is a great restaurant. We visit about once every 2 – 3 months as we are fairly local.

Great place. Great food. Great staff of friendly people just trying to make people happy. Specials during the week are always kept new and fresh. This area is in need of a place to just grab a bite to eat and have a drink and a few laughs. Red Cedar does this well.

Solid option for anyone looking for dinner and/or drinks in our area. My friends and I were debating about where to go for dinner on a Friday night and didn’t know what we wanted. I mentioned this place and it’s changed names/owners over the past decade, but the building remains. We also glanced at the menu prior and they have a bunch of vegetarian options The four of us got there around 9ish on Friday night and there were people finishing dinner and a few at the bar. They have an awesome décor, with a lodge-like vibe and creatively use the tree décor to their advantage, providing a homey feeling. Our waitress was extremely nice and friendly, and came by often to check up on us and chat. It’s nice to build that banter and strike up a conversation. They have a nice beer list and a few wines(including their house wines). Only three out of the four of us were eating, and we decided to all split an app, a salad, and an entrée. Their portions are HUGE, and we definitely over-ordered. Nachos — some of the best(and largest) nachos I’ve ever had and that is not an understatement! The chips were perfectly crisp, the cheese was melted just right, and the toppings were fresh. They put retried beans in a bowl on the side, which was a pleasant surprise. We scarfed it down and were full at the end. This dish is a meal for three people by itself! Pizza — it was a bit undercooked, but still tasty nonetheless. Their balance of sauce, cheese, and veggies was great(we got onion and peppers). Salad — the goat cheese salad was large and the balsamic dressing was a perfect complement. Overall, the food, service, and ambiance is hard to beat and a must try place for anyone and everyone!
