Just ate there. The food was extremely good. Had the garlic shrimp with rice and a small shrimp cocktail. You get one huge drink-I ordered lemonade. Now, the strange thing is that it was 7:30−8pm when I ate there, not another soul in there, but to have the owner come out and question why I was there was off-she claims it was because she never saw me there before. She was correct-it was my first time being there but I didn’t think I had to explain why I was there. I had to tell her because my kids are at the high school around the corner for rugby practice. She asked me if I was the coach-I told her«no, because I would have to be at practice like they are». I don’t get that. Does the owner always question her customers? I was dressed in dressy casual pants and a golf/polo shirt, so it couldn’t have been that. And then, as I was driving away, the same woman was outside in the back of the restaurant watching me leave. It was extremely uncomfortable. I won’t be going back. Maybe her attitude towards customers or out of town patrons should change and she wouldn’t have an empty restaurant. That sucked.

Good food decent prices. Live music on a Sunday afternoon and a Michelada… Doesn’t get much better than this.

The seafood is great. Fish tacos to die for but why I gave it 3 stars is that the service sucked. Our food came fast but my husband wanted a el pastor taco they were out. Then we asked for more ice tea, and it wasn’t bottomless no refills. They didn’t get my husbands order right even though it was repeated twice out loud and the ladies who were serving kept on chatty with each other, even though I kept trying to get their attention. I miss the days of Perla and the others who use to work there. They cared about their customers.

Everything was delicious! I highly recommend it! Starting off with a Tecate Light michelada and Ostyones especiales! Then taco de pescado, which was best fish taco ever! Then finished it off with a Tostada de Camaron that was full of flavor!

The plates were the size of man hole covers! I had the bacon wrapped shrimp and have to say, it was incredible. My wife had grilled chicken and she indicated it was very tasty and moist. Our salads were very chilled just the way we like them. The chips and salsa were good. The grilled jalapeño and green onions were a nice addition. We did order guacamole, and the only complaint was far too much cilantro, almost like having a shrub in the guacamole. My wife also had a regular margarita which was quite good. Our server Nancy was very friendly, attentive and made our first time here pleasant.

Seafood — Pretty good Al Pastor Burrito — not good, all pastor was not fresh. Atmosphere — cruddy area and not clean.

Huge portions, fresh products, great seafood. I ordered the Caldos 7 Seas or the seafood soup which was full of crab, octopus, fish, clams, shrimp, etc. I was really surprised by it;s size. George, the owner/manager took over this restaurant from his Dad a year ago and improved the quality and service. The food was just reviewed by the local paper and got 5 stars. Single portions are generally enough to feed 2.

I really do like this place, a little quiet but the waitress is super nice. I came here looking for a good burrito and she said,” well what would you like in it?” burrito came out great! Meat tender; asada was good, lengua tender just missing something, some type of seasoning. I wish the salsa was spicer, but other than that I enjoy coming here.

Las Playas was one of my favorite, and most frequently visited restaurants. I like their chips and salsa.(Throw some salt on the chips first– bad habit of mine.) I never thought of their outfits looking skimpy, but then I like going to Hooter’s too. Anyway, where was I? They used to serve hefty portions of food, but last wednesday I had breakfast and was surprised with smaller plates. Smaller portions. Guess the economy could be taking a toll. I got a breakfast burrito, and while it had alot of ingredients, the taste was kind of bizarre. Just a weird taste, Most people may have stopped eating, but I… Noooooo! The server’s were pre-occupied with talking to each other, and seemed bothered when we asked for more chips. One of them gave a looooong stare our way. Excuse me! The food usually is good. I just don’t recommend the burrito. Also, a baby was crying in the kitchen area, bringing to mind an awful incident where I saw a woman changing a diaper at the same time cooking the food. ewwww.(Not here, but at another restaurant.)
