In the past 5 years the food scene in Columbia has really emerged from chain restaurants and bar food, but with few exceptions is still lacking in decent and authentic Asian cuisine options. Be My Guest adds to the generic landscape of Asian fusion also-rans. There’s nothing special here. I went because they claimed to have Japanese style ramen. It was miso soup(NOTMISOBROTH — this is a significant difference) with vermicelli noodles, not the mandatory alkaline noodles. They’d be significantly better off selling packaged ramen; that’s how bad it was. The sushi roll was decent but nothing that doesn’t exist at 15 other places in Columbia including the prepared foods section of Lucky’s.

We had the Pad Thai and the Chicken Teriyaki. A little more than the single $ for lunch. Both prepared perfectly and very tasty. The location is a little out of the mainstream downtown area. The décor is upscale. Will definitely come again.

I had the Udon shrimp noodles it was good and quite messy to eat. The BBQ Egg Roll was outstanding it’s a must try. Loved the fried rice was not the usual run of mill stuff. No soft drinks and bottled beer and tea choices are limited. It’s worth a try.
