Stopped in for a beer and a bite on way out of town. There was a gentleman rocking out tunes on the piano, a super friendly atmosphere, great staff, and not to mention the place oozes authenticity. A superb gem, you just feel good being there. I’ll definitely be coming back with friends!

This place is one cool honky tonk. I don’t think you could get any more authentic, since it’s straight out of an old west movie. The fare is simple. Beer and pizza. Menus are on the wall and the servers are behind the bar. Peanut shells on the floor and colorful characters abound. We tried three of their locally brewed beers — all were excellent, especially their IPA. Pizzas were excellent too– we had their take on a traditional magherita along with a chicken and pesto with artichoke hearts. The mini pizzas were the perfect size. We spent a good part of a Saturday afternoon at Bixel enjoying Roger the piano player’s honky tonk renditions of 70s rock tunes. The bartenders were super nice and made sure my pup had plenty of water in the bowl outside.

Horrible, as in no customer service, when we walked in at lunch hour. Tables & chairs scattered about and had to piece together a place to sit. After our group of 6 not being acknowledge after many minutes, I approach the only person I saw working there behind the bar area. Went to bar and asked about menus. She rudely snapped«they’re on the wall.» I asked if they served burgers as stated on the Parks website. She said«we have pizza. No burgers in town for more than 20 years.» And as a started to ask more questions about whether they would take our order at the table or at the bar, she told us we should go elsewhere. We did not stay, so I have no comment on the food.

Hands down the best pizza all four of us in our group has ever had. We are pizza experts and this pizza is approved. We had a everything pizza. The bixel brewery pale ale was ok. It had too much of a hoppy taste for a pale ale. The bixel brewery stout was excellent. It had coffee notes in it. There is a piano my boyfriend got to play there. They also throw peanut shells on the floor. They don’t sell hard liquor here.

Four stars because this place was comfortable and welcoming to kids. It’s not fancy at all, but the beer was cold and the fire hot in a cold day. Seems like locals and tourists hang out here. My kids thought throwing peanuts on the floor and the tub of toys were great. I liked the old bar and backbar. They could probably get more tables in there too
