The beers are always seem to change or a regular basis and are quite drinkable. The menu seems to change quite often too, not necessarily with the season, but regularity which gives you many choices in quite a tight menu. This means that if you are a repeat customer your favourite might just not be there next time. The environment is relaxed and full of young professionals. It’s location tucked away in the basement also gives cm great access to the pedestrian alleyway behind and parking in the multi-storey garage if the streets are full. Less than a block from 9th street where the majority of the people are.

Broadway Brewery, the name can be deceiving. While a good place for beer, it also is a consistently great place for food and cool, local art/photography displays. I have been a few times, and the experience continues to impress. The beer is solid, with something for most tastes. I’d recommend getting a flight if you have never been to help find your favorite. I like the Cream Ale and some of their seasonal beers best. Because it is a smaller brewery, they do occasionally run out of certain beers, but the servers always have good suggestions for another choice. The menu features a nice variety, with a lot of locally-sourced ingredients. Some of the best dishes I’ve had were the daily features. However, they have some great options on their standard menu. For appetizers, the Porter Dip or Poutine are crowd pleasers. Their salads are typically my go-to, my favorite being the arugula, beet and goat cheese salad(yum). I’ve also enjoyed their Smoked Pork sandwich. The service is typically friendly and prompt, and they know their stuff. On weekends and some weeknights, they have chill live music. And they always have local art or photography on the walls, which adds to the cool vibe of the place. Overall, always a positive experience in my book!

Love the beer, especially the double rye IPA. Best brunch in Columbia. Super atmosphere.

I am utterly confused by this place, its underground, and has bad art everywhere you look, the beer is less than mediocre, and so is the food… overpriced sad food.

I have never been let down by Broadway Brewery! The food is locally sourced when possible. Everything is always fresh and flavorful. I usually end up with the blue plate special which changes day to day. The breads are fresh from a local bakery. My husband always gets a beer(or two) and he has never been disappointed. The atmosphere is cozy and the music is great. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Columbia!

Went to Broadway Brewery for NYE dinner with a group of 10. They had live, local music, which was very nice. The place was not as busy as we expected it might be. Hostesses were nice, but our server was curt and snarky! What a disappointment considering we were their to enjoy ourselves and were racking up quite the bill. She was the kind of server you had to ask for drink refills– she didn’t ask. She also dropped off our checks without asking. We were there to drink and socialize, not to be pushed along when our server was ready. Again, there was no wait and it was NYE. To add, their special menu was not impressive. Most if us ordered pizzas. Overpriced. One ordered the charcuterie platter, one ordered the trout, one had the seafood linguine. All looked delicious. However, the pricing and curt service doesn’t make up for that. I haven’t been to Broadway Brewery in years and I just remembered why– an underwhelming and pricey experience.

Micro brew is adequate. The bar keep who seems to be there all the time in the afternoon hours and seems to be some kind of manager/supervisor is terrible. No regard for serving customer at the bar; doesn’t seem to care if or when customers get her attention. After a half dozens times try to spend my money there, I finally gave up. The last straw was listening to her talk to a couple friends until I just gave up.

I have been here a couple of times and decided to write a review after my 2nd visit(last night) where I met a friend here for a meat lovers pizza and a couple of beers. The pizza was pretty good… nothing special though. The crust seemed like it was prepared elsewhere and seemed a little like a high quality frozen pizza crust… not hand thrown. The toppings were excellent though. They have a large selection of beers. Service was good. The place was clean. I actually feel this is about a 3.5 star place based on my two visits. I gave it 4 because 3 seemed too low.

I had never been here before but was TOTALLY surprised by how awesome the food was! Not what you think of when you think of «brewery food» Oh, and the beer is awesome.

Wow. This place really impressed me. It’s in such a cool spot and building. It’s in the basement of this weird little half outdoor/indoor shopping center building thing. Downtown Columbia is super cool as it is, and this is no exception. It’s a rather large area with lots of seating and different style tables. Bar is a great set up, it fits a lot of people. I will throw in an extra comment about their bathrooms being super nice also. I glanced quickly at the beer menu without reading it too in depth. I ordered a flight and they assumed I meant all of them. Before I knew I had 12 different beers in front of me. Perfect! I slowly started working my way through them. I couldn’t help but notice how consistently good they were. I didn’t have a single beer I wouldn’t drink again, even the styles I’m not a fan of. They had some really unique choices and great names for the brews as well. I’d highly recommend all the different IPAs they have. AND they are planning on continuing a series of single hop strain IPAs! After working my way through some of the technically 4 whole beers of varying, mostly on the high end, alcohol content, I decided to order some food. I went out of my comfort zone and ordered the wild mushroom sandwich. Outstanding! I never would have thought an entire, filling, delicious sandwich could be made with just a few ingredients. Amazing flavor. This is by far one of the best brewpub experiences I have had beer and foodwise, If you’re trying to decide between some of the different places in town to go, please, give this a shot.

What a great spot! It was a bit tricky for us to find at first(we aren’t from Columbia). Located in the basement of this building and with pretty poor signage my Unilocal app helped me find it-thank goodness! Part of what drew us here was a recommendation from a relative but also I was pretty excited about the check in incentive. They have delicious brews and delicious food. They have a sweet stage for a band too! I really like the menu of this place-limited! I think its important for a place to not have everything under the sun on the menu. We had the buffalo burger, added blue cheese and bacon-rich and fabulous! I think next time I will skip the bleu cheese so I can enjoy more of the flavor of the meat. I had a summer brew and also a cider! Their cider is on point and so so yummy! I very much appreciate our server for providing that as a suggestion. We also had so much fun at this place-we went twice in one day!

Wow, what a great place for a bite and a couple beers. Definitely one of my new favorite spots in Columbia. The atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. Since you’re on the lower level of a building, cell service(Verizon at least) is not the best, forcing you to put the phone down and converse with, you know, other people. I had a beet salad and four cheese pizza. Both top notch, made from scratch using as many locally sourced ingredients as possible. My brother and his wife tried a buffalo burger and both of them had no complaints whatsoever. On to the brews. Everything I tried was great. From their signature APA to a less-hoppy pale ale to their fan-tas-tic hard apple cider. The cider is more dry and sour then sweet, so it’s are very drinkable as a session. They also serve brunch on Saturdays and Sundays and often have live music. The next time I’m in town, I will be returning.

Coming from Portland, OR(micro brew haven) I thought I’d stop in and check out what they have here. Not bad! I wished they’d has more options for their own porters/stouts(they offered a lot of different choices of their own brews though) but I tried a mead from Leaky Roof Meadery in Buffalo, MO. It was the High, Dry, & Dusty… Not bad either!!! I finished the whole drink(something I don’t normally do, even with my favorite beers). I also had the Porter Dip with toasted different types of bread; and the burger w/wild mushrooms and white cheddar cheese. Yum.(That’s all I can say.). Seriously… YUM!!! Loved the décor, very clean, laid back, great employees too!

This place has good food and a cool local concept but the service is rude. The bartender was just socializing the whole time and all my other experiences there. We ordered a spinach salad and the entire thing was arugula?! We sent it back and then saw them gossiping about us in the back. I would give it another shot but need to work on service that’s all

2013 We stopped here thanks to Unilocal. The town was cute. We shared three bean dip and maize cakes. We drank Blonde on Blonde and Wee Heavy. Good tastes all around. The dip was garnished with the first good tomatoes I’ve had this year. The egg on the cakes: perfect sunny side up. Left with a growler of Blonde on Blonde. 2015 We stopped here again. The menu was different. He had shrimp gumbo and I had the cottage pie. Although it wasn’t quite the menu we were looking for, I do appreciate that they take the care to change the menu. We tried several beers and our favorite was the Black Honey Boone Dog Brown.

This is the best place in Columbia. Most breweries have just a few beers or one beer style. Broadway has solid IPAs(plural!!!), a delicious porter, a great brown and a stout collaboration with a local coffee shop. The French dip and side salad are the best I have ever had. The pizza is perfectly cooked. I had a special with apple and pork that was a unique blend of sweet and savory that more than satisfied. The leek soups was out of this world delicious. They are also great if you have dietary restrictions. They were willing to help with vegan and veggie options far beyond the typical steamed veggies and rice you get at other places. The best part about this place is the staff. Incredibly kind and helpful, even beyond the food. On my first week in town they gave me a long list of to-dos that helped me orient and enjoy my time. They also have free wireless if you need it and they are the perfect spot for lunch.

I was visiting Missouri and came across this little gem. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food(some type of mushroom dip) was phenomenal. It tasted earthy yet delicious. I have to say the best thing about this place is its beer. Go figure right? Seriously though, the beer here is amazing and I wish it was bottled and sold in stores. I tried 4 different beers but the American Pale Ale was my favorite. It is literally the best APA I have ever had. I will always remember this beer and i definitly will come back next time in Columbia, Missouri again. Kudos to Broadway Brewery!

Oh, Broadway Brewery, you were so promising when you first opened… where did you go wrong? Let’s begin with service. It’s never been the high point. With the exception of a couple of stellar servers, most of the serving staff appear either uninterested or too inexperienced to know basic tenants of good customer service. But, like I said, service has never been the high point. In the beginning, the high point was always the food. That’s why I kept going back. An affordable restaurant featuring high quality, locally sourced ingredients was just what Columbia needed. Unfortunately, the kitchen has been increasingly inconsistent. Makes me suspect they are having staffing problems in the back of the house, as well. The last few times I’ve eaten there, I leave feeling like I shouldn’t have spent the money. I miss the good old days! Broadway, I want to come back when you get your kitchen back in order! I’m still willing to look the other way on the mediocre service — mostly, I just miss the food.

I absolutely love this spot in Columbia! I frequently make the trek from St. Louis to Kansas City and back, and my best friend from high school lives in COMO — this means a lot of stopping in for quick dinners. On my most recent visit we checked out Broadway Brewery, and I’m so glad we did. It was on the first freezing day of «fall» and this spot served as a great little hideaway to warm up, have some drinks, and enjoy good food. We went super early on a weekday, and there weren’t many people there yet. Our server was so friendly and knew a ton about the menu, and was able to recommend lots of different things. Clearly they have an excellent beer selection, but they also have a full bar. The menu is huge and so many things looked great, but considering how much eating out I had been doing before this dinner, I decided to go as healthy as possible and order the black bean burger. It’s house-made and so good, and comes topped with spinach, roasted red pepper, and spicy cheddar. Things I want to try next time: the trout hush puppies, root vegetable hash, the artichoke porter dip, and pretty much all of the speciality pizzas. This place impressed the hell out of me, and I know we’ll be stopping in again very soon.
