I’m reviewing the bar, not the restaurant. The food is pretty good, but I don’t go there to dine. For a fast paced cocktail bar, this place is incredible. Dan and Jeoff are the best bartending team I’ve seen in action. They’re always excited to be where they’re at, serving the drinks that are being ordered, even if it’s not a top shelf, craft cocktail. Deb is a sweetheart, and always makes you feel at home when you’re at her bar. When I’ve closed down the bar I work at, I always head to Teller’s. Tip: Go on a Monday night if you work in the service industry. Everyone else will be there getting drinks, and it’s always a good time!

Went to Teller’s for a late-night gathering of friends from graduate school. I can’t speak to the food – honestly, I didn’t know they served food until I saw these other Unilocal reviews – as we were not graced with a food menu. Decent place to grab a beer with friends. The atmosphere was pretty low-key except that it’s SOLOUD … There’s no dance floor or live DJ here. Maybe it’s that we were there after 8 pm, but the music was of a level that it was difficult to hear people across the table and drink orders had to be shouted so loud the barkeep was wiping spit off his ear. It seemed pretty excessive.

A windy night in Columbia brought myself and 4 others to teller’s for dinner. They have a nice eclectic bottle/can beer menu, I had a modus hoperandi followed by a Hobrau Dunkel. For dinner I had the sour cherry duck which came with sautéed green beans and a fried parmesan polenta cake. Everything was very tasty and seasoned well, the one thing I wish is that the skin on the duck was crispy. The duck itself was cooked to a very nice medium. It’s a good place where I’d like to try some of the other items off the menu.

Columbia is full of excellent restaurants. Teller’s is one of them. Had lunch there last week and was treated to a rich soup of pulled pork, okra, corn, onions. More like a stew or gumbo but whatever, it was great. Delicious sandwiches and, of course, any restaurant that offers Tots as a side is ok by me. Thanks for a great lunch and excellent! service.

This is a Diamond in the rough. Downtown, local vibe. The kitchen has some of the BEST food and variety I’ve tasted. The service is delayed at times, but that’s so you enjoy the real experience. If your in a hurry, go to McDonalds. Of you want extraordinary food and drink, this is your go to…

Tellers is far and away the best hang out spot anyone young or trying to still be young. Geoff Pratt is the best bartender /server /host of all time. Their duck leg is awesome for dinners as well as the steak au poivre. for lunch French dip or pork wrap will make you feel like you had lunch in an chic restaurant in a big city. Just ask for Scotty, Geoff, or Ty as your waiter and you will have the time of your life!

I don’t understand how this place has such a decent rating. It’s enough to give Gordon Ramsey a stroke. Nice placement, good people-watching, but extremely sub par menu– hardly any options, and the few feasible things here are overpriced. Also is very very loud inside. Our waitress had to yell for us to hear us and vice versa. I ordered grilled chicken on my DIY salad, and the first bite i took was full of cold, half-frozen chicken. Be warned. It very obviously came straight from their freezer and through the oven for a couple minutes. Wouldn’t recommend, definitely won’t be back.

How this place has garnered 3.5 stars is beyond me. The place is dirty and the floor is disgusting. We perused the menu and could not find anything we could stomach in that environment. We had a soda and a glass of wine, that took about 30 minutes, too bad it took another 30 minutes to get the bill. I suspect it was our punishment for not ordering more.

We got referred to Tellers. It was a nice place for a great meal. Good comfort food options. Atmosphere is very friendly. There were three of us. One of us ordered the Chicken Cesar Salad. One of us ordered the Pork Chop and one of us had the Salmon. All three were very good. We also had to order a side of Tater Tots, had to do it. Very good. I would recommend eating here. The service was good as well.

Our family was in town for my son’s graduation from the University of Missouri School of Engineering. It was an early evening commencement so we wanted to take him out for a special dinner. After the ceremony we told him the night was his and asked him where he wanted to celebrate. He had a friend and co-worker who also happened to be a part/time chef at Teller’s on Broadway so off we went. We had to wait about twenty minutes for a table to open for a party of five but after this experience, I would have waited an hour. Every thing about this experience was special from the fifteen year old Scotch used for my son’s toast to the wine served with dinner. From appetizers to entrees and finally dessert Teller’s was hitting on all levels. Bacon wrapped filets garnished in a Creole Sauce, Blackened Salmon, KC Strip all with exceptional flavor profiles. Desserts were in a league of their own. Sure we dropped a little coin but after all how many times does your son graduate from college? Service was professional and attentive to every need. Thanks Teller’s for giving us an experience we will remember for a lifetime.

Pretty solid downtown restaurant. Has been around for a while and made a name for itself with good food and service. Full bar with drink specials, nice atmosphere, and a few tables and chairs on the side walk to enjoy the hustle and busking of Columbia’s district scene.

This place is very good. They have unique choices and everything I’ve had has been tasty. They usually have daily specials that have always been good. The staff is very friendly, but when you sit outside, the service can be hit or miss. I will definitely return because it’s a solid choice downtown and worth trying out.

Great place for a meal and drinks downtown. The overall drink selection could be expanded, they only offer one Mojito and other drinks are limited. Service is always good.

The food here really was delicious(although the Tellers Special should not have been listed under a sandwich since it most definitely was not) and we enjoyed the atmosphere, but the service was pretty rough. When we didn’t order drinks our server was clearly unhappy with us & then it took our appetizer forever to come & our main dishes even longer. For 2 people our entire meal took an hour & a half & it wasn’t even a busy time. It was pretty unreal. It was clear that it was taking far too long, but there was no acknowledgment of it or even attempt to move a tiny bit faster.

We live outside this city and came here on a whim. We had such dinner that we came back. The salad was fresh and a good size. The French dip was on a tasty roll, had plenty of beef, grilled onions, and cheese. All day Mon, they have $ 4.00 martini which included fresh mulled herbs that was superb. Mmmm Mmmmm We’ll be back.

This has been a solid place to eat in Columbia for years, everyone knows this place has good food. Try the baked brie platter. The bartender hooks it up for regulars and they do some kind of Happy Hour every day.

Had a late lunch /early dinner at Teller’s after the Mizzou football victory over Florida this past weekend. Great food and great service. I had a bleu burger(don’t recall the exact name) — it was outstanding. I think it was $ 7.50 — I substituted tator tots instead of sweet potato chips, but my daughter got the chips and said they were great. As an appetizer we ordered hot wings — they were perfect. Also, they had some good beer on tap — I had a Schalfly APA — very good. I’ll definitely be back.
