A great place to stop and eat drink for all you winos in Soda city. Various deals throughout the week, and they have a 3 for $ 22 deal which gets you an app, dinner and dessert. Great if you’re wanting a lot of food, but if you want something small go with a flatbread, they’re amazing. I’ve been here 10+ times in the past year and haven’t tried something I didn’t like. So sit back and crack open a bottle of wine and enjoy.

So so so good!!! The tuna nachos are amazing… you must try them! I always get their 3 course special. So worth it! All the food is great, service is excellent.

Great value and decent food a little hidden away in Columbia. We had the ahi tuna nachos, scallops, pork schnitzel, duck quesadilla, chocolate caramel cake, and cheese plate(yup, the 3-course prix-fixe menu is a very good deal!). The aha tuna nachos were novel and tasty. The scallop had a bit of a confusing flavor profile, but was still reasonably tasty. Pork schnitzel with sweet and sour red cabbage and spaetzli was delicious, as was the duck quesadilla. The cheese plate was surprisingly shippable, but we enjoyed the cake. The option for half glasses of wines so that we could build our own flights was very appreciated! Well worth checking out.

This place was great. My coworkers and I are here for a conference. The place is small, but has great food! Who can beat a 3 course dinner for $ 22?! Out of all of the restaurants we have been to so far in South Carolina this one has been the best. I suggest the seared pound she for dessert.

We had dinner with friends at Cellar again last night, for the first time in awhile. This is one of our favorite locations for a casual meal that we know will be excellent. The wine menu is fantastic and the beer menu is not bad(for a place that focuses on wine). The food is delicious and a good value if you do the 3-course price. Last night I had the bisque, snapper and turtle cheesecake, all of which were excellent, and the dessert I took home for later. The quaint ambience contributed to our having a terrific time laughing and catching up with friends. We’ll definitely be back many times to come.

The bartender was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, & I liked the overall feel and look of the place. I also loved that I could customize my wine flight, due to the fact that they offer half-glass & full-glass pours! This is definitely someplace I’ll frequent!

Great hole in the wall place that offers great wine and bubbles selection along with small bites and entrees. The pricing is a bit high to be honest but luckily it was half price glasses of bubbles Tuesday. Normally my selection would have been $ 22 per glass and my colleagues order 1 full glass each of red wine that was $ 16 each(a little steep) The chartruderie and cheese plates were good but not presented spectacular and wasn’t unique. The scallops dish was fantastic though! Overall for the price is give it 3 stars, for the uniqueness of the chartruderie selection I give it 3 stars, 4 stars for the location and staff and 5 stars for the scallops entrée and wine selection :)

The menu changes every month or so, so there is always something new & delicious to try(both food & wine).

My boyfriend and I hadn’t been out to dinner in a few weeks and when we finally decided to go last Friday — I insisted on Cellar! We arrived around 8pm(they don’t take reservations). The dining area is fairly small(one large common table in the middle and a few high tops and regular tables around the outer edges(no outdoor seating). We were seated immediately by the very friendly hostess, right next to the kitchen. Our server, Katie(who used to be one of my bar customers) came over, greeted us, and began to explain the specials of the night. She confirmed that they obviously have a great selection of wines(no liquor) and she’d be happy to answer any questions or suggest pairings if we wanted. As many of the reviews state, they have the awesome $ 22 — 3 course dinner option($ 4 up charge to share plates). We always share and wanted to try a couple of things(minus dessert), so we decided to just order«a la carte» Goat Cheese & Artichoke Dip = it was good, nothing supppppper unique in my opinion(didn’t taste«goaty» to me) Yellow Fin Tuna Nachos = again, it was good… but I doubt I’ll be craving it ever Katie gave us an order of the Raw Truffle Fries on the house… those were actually the best app(funny)! The balsamic ketchup was delicious!!! For entrees I had… Miso-Honey Glazed Scallops = they did smell a little fishy(you foodies know what I mean), but tasted really good My bf got… Pig Meets Duck… I tasted his mashed potatoes and they were really good and flavorful, I think he enjoyed everything else too. (We also split a «Pink Lemonade» off of the specials menu… Rosé, simple syrup, lemon juice and thyme I believe). The service was great… it wasn’t too crowded… we had a good time!

Cellar on the Greene? More like Stellar on the Greene! What a meal! Truffle raw French fries and berry wine smashers, Duck quesadillas and salmon on crackers, Pan seared flat iron with pig meets ducklings, These are a few of my favorite things! Honestly, three course meals for $ 22?! This is a no fail first date spot … Or 100th date spot. Location has a nice bar and two tv’s. Oh and if they have the blackberry turnover dessert or Michael David’s earthquake(petit sirah) …do not leave without trying them! They were a hit at our table!

No place in Columbia offers you what Cellar on Greene does. None. The three-course special for $ 22 is the single best deal you will find anywhere — including big franchised restaurants — in the Midlands area. There are always delicious new choices featuring locally sourced food for virtually everyone. Blythe Kelly is the best pastry chef that I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, and the rest of the kitchen staff is always coming up with spectacular new specials alongside the usual go-to menu items. The service is top notch and you’re never at a loss for exciting new wine selections and/or recommendations with their well-trained, experienced bartenders & servers. And if you’re not in a vino mood, the bottled craft beer selection won’t let you down, either. Overall, the Cellar experience gives you everything you look for from the priciest of restaurants without all the stuffy formality or expense. It’s a hidden jewel in not just the Columbia food scene, but the overall SC scene as well.

This place is usually my goto favorite for a special event or night out in Colombia. I went there recently with my friend Katie to celebrate her recent engagement. We had two glasses of champagne and then ordered a bottle. As always the wines and champagnes here were excellent. However, I was surprised that the food wasn’t as good as I remembered it being. I always get the three course meal with tuna tacos and whatever fish is on the entrée menu. The tuna tacos were just not as good as I remembered. The fish was good and it was well cooked but really the best thing about the entrée was the cauliflower mash. As always the desserts were excellent.

Alas, what used to be a forward-thinking, consistently enjoyable wine+food experience has turned into a tired, phoned-in exercise in grievous mediocrity. The service, I should note, is still consistently satisfactory. But the same sad small plates that were fun five years ago just don’t make me really look forward to another night here. «Oh, *truffle oil* on your frites? You don’t say. How very 1999.» The biggest hole in the ship, however, has to be the breathtaking embarrassment that Cellar calls a «wine list.» If you go there tonight, count how many selections from their list can be found on the shelf at your local Publix(or even gas station). If you are looking to explore what’s new and fun in wine, or even looking for wines that seem to be thoughtfully paired with the restaurant’s menu, look elsewhere. If you’re simply looking for a large-ish btg list that doesn’t need to be at all impressive, then this may be for you. Look, I want to say something nicer. But watching the slow, sad decline of this place has finally broken my heart. The owner will rant that he busts his ass to make the place great and that no one understands. The transparently obvious truth, however, is that the owner over extends himself, and has decided the easiest thing to do with Cellar is to join the race to the bottom.

This is one of my favorite places in Columbia. Everything I have had here is great. The flat iron steak with the mashed potatoes is one of my favorites. Start with the City Roots salad. The appetizer of the day rock shrimp and calamari was delicious. But my favorite is dessert. I come here for the seared poundcake. Not to miss!!!

Do I ever miss this place. Ever since moving to Boston I have been dreaming of the three course at Cellar. In my opinion, the absolute best meal for the price in the entire city. The Atmosphere is cozy and casual while still feeling refined. No frills here — you could show up in jeans and a nice top or a dress and heels and feel comfortable either way. The service was always spot-on with no arrogance but lots of helpful suggestions and fun conversation from the staff. The food itself is absolutely incredible. I’ve had so many different things there that I really can’t pinpoint a favorite, especially since their menu is constantly changing. I do have a fond memory of a charcuterie plate made with locally farmed rabbit sausage among other delicious local fare — ALWAYS love when restaurants try to bring local players into their game! I also tried to always get whatever fish dish was available because the chefs really know how to cook a piece of fish with perfect accompaniments. Slight up-charge? That probably honestly means it’s even better — go for it. Pro-Tip: They have great wine and bubble specials during the week but you can also get a bottle of wine from their cellar /wine store and pay a corkage fee based on the price. One of the best and cheapest ways to drink GREAT wine in the city. A bottle of Prisoner for $ 42 plus a corkage fee when it costs upwards of $ 90 elsewhere in the city? Don’t mind if I do. Seriously though. When I eventually go back to the south to visit family this will be the first place I go. Whenever you feel like make deliveries to the North East, let me know, Cellar. Columbia doesn’t know how good it has it in the realm of affordable and seriously divine food.

Any meal that starts with an apple cider Prosecco Bellini with rosemary and lime can’t be anything but right. I took advantage of the 3 courses for $ 22 deal. The bellini was followed up by the duck confit quesadilla. The flavors were spot on but I expected it to be a bit warmer. It was pretty much room temp when it came out. Next up was the pan seared flat iron steak that was served with creamed red potatoes and roasted asparagus. The truffle-thyme jus and portobello-cippolini duxelle added to the deliciousness of the steak but honestly, you don’t need it. The steak was flavorful all on its own and cooked to perfection. The potatoes were tasty and the asparagus was some of the most flavorful I’ve ever had. I wrapped up this delicious meal with the molten chocolate caramel soufflé. Amahzing! Creamy delicious center, decadent cake, mmmmmmm… The space is small but warm. It did get a bit loud towards the end of our evening but Steph and the bartender were both excellent hosts and were able to provide wine pairing recommendations for my friend. We also never had to wait on our next course to come out. Everything was timed perfectly. Water glasses were refilled regularly too! I can’t wait to go back and try other menu items. The sea scallops with sundried tomato-parmesan polenta are calling my name… and of course another Bellini!

I’m from St. Louis and love trying local places. I haven’t been too impressed with the culinary skills around here until I came here. The fish was cooked perfectly, the flavors were amazing, wonderful wine list with great options! Every course was amazing! Truly impressed! Highly recommended and can’t wait to go back!

Yum! We just moved to the Columbia area from DC and have been looking for delicious, unique places to eat. Well, we found one! My husband and I both decided to go with the 3-course meal for $ 22, I mean… you can’t beat that! For appetizers he ordered the duck quesadillas that he loved, I ordered the beef tartare that was delicious! It came with warm pita bread and an assortment of mustards. For the main course my husband ordered the trout with polenta that was outstanding! The crust was so light and flaky, the trout was absolutely delicious! I ordered the flank steak with mashed potatoes, it was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked, we couldn’t decide which one was better! For dessert we ordered the cheesecake and chocolate cake, yum yum yum. We could only eat about half of them and got the rest to go. They were both delicious. We also ordered a bottle of wine for the meal. We were both so happy with our meals and experience, we cannot wait to go back! The service was outstanding! The dining is in a group setting, there are a few private tables. We sat at the large bar table in the middle, it was not crowded on a Friday night. It was very romantic with the low lighting and the candles. The negative would be the location, not easily accessible. The bathroom… pretty dingy and old as well as the train passing by at 8pm only 20 feet away. Also, just a personal pet peeve, but they do not take reservations. Yes a little difficult to find, especially for someone new to the area. But they offer free valet, just tip the guy at the end of the night. Parking was very limited.

This place has a unique fine dining menu and the makings for a good dining experience, but it is a flop. I echo the others that it is very hard to find. The seating is not friendly: the chairs are wooden, most without a back, uncomfortable, and the only ones available to us that night were all bar height. Quality was lacking: My salad was tossed with some charred almonds that were inedible. Bread is not provided with any meal(even the 3 course). The desserts(cakes at least) are store bought. We were only 1 of 3 small tables and had to ask twice for our beverage and waited 40 minutes for our entrees which should have taken 15 minutes if prep was done correctly. No explanation or apology was given for the delay. Good points: nice décor, trendy plates, great plate presentation, smiling staff, and they kept our water glasses full. My pizza was very tasty(SMOKEDNUESKE; no bacon). I’m not one to give bad reviews and like to support family owned restaurants, but overall value was not received in exchange for the $ 80 spent for 3 people(without tip and alcohol). I went here because it is under the same ownership as Mr. Friendy’s next door in which I would recommend over this place. Maybe I would have had a better experience if I was just at the bar for wine? That I don’t know, but I won’t be returning to find out.
