Great locally owned gear store close to the river. Good selection of kayak and canoe related things from top brands(Astral, OR, NRS, Immersion Research, Kokatat, etc) — they also have rock climbing, camping, and a bunch of great stuff for your dog(reflective vests, PFDs, etc). Friendly staff that are active in the outdoor community here who know what they’re talking about– truly a hidden gem in Columbia! Great place to buy gifts for an outdoor enthusiast.

Went tubing with 5 friends and had fun. Guy at counter was friendly. Owner was a douche when we called for our pick up. The guy that picked us up was very friendly. Too bad for the Staff that the owner doesn’t understand how to talk to customers with respect. We will not return.

Avoid this place at all costs. Took my money. Made a copy of credit card and drivers license too. Should have been first warning sign ! Thought I was paying $ 35 for a kayak rental but then find out there an extra $ 25 of them to take the kayak to the river and biting it back at the end. Reluctantly I paid. Very nice river kayak trip. I got to the take out point and call for a ride as instructed. Hartley the owner answered the phone and said to me no one can come and get me and the kayak. I need to carry the kayak 70 yards up hill to the road. I explained that was not what I paid for I was told too bad there’s nothing I can do. I was unable to carry the kayak myself it was too heavy. I had to drag it up to the road. Then walk back to the store in 95+ degree heat. Checked in at the store and told him I’m back and I wasn’t happy about dragging the kayak when I paid a hidden expense for livery service. His response was that if I dragged the kayak he was going to inspect it for damage and charge my credit card. Do Not Trust These People !!!

The guys are really nice and have a great selection of new and used gear. They’re located right next to the Saluda River so they do river trips & tours. You can sell your gear on consignment here so it’s a great way to trade in gear for something different or try a new hobby without breaking the bank.
