Sad that they gave me no shaved prime rib with my prime rib sandwich. And their bathroom soap stinks.

Fried pickles were good, fried steak was awful. Oysters were good, but now they are off the menu… Overall dissatisfied.

My friends make this our hangout. We like the Unicorns and the Dirty Money Mixed Drinks. The Marie Laveau dessert also is a must. Once I spent $ 60 here on dinner and I wasn’t even angry about it. The oysters are really good for being in the middle of Missouri. As someone who has lived for several years in New Orleans, I just want to get back there and help them with their gumbo… Don’t order the gumbo. BUT the crawdads are great and god help me the fried oysters and rack of lamb.(Ask for medium well.) We really like our waitress Melanie. :)

On Valentines Day, my fiancé and I ordered a 2 course meal with drinks. We both started off with an appetizer of crayfish. Following, I had the crayfish enchilada and she had the meatloaf. Finally, I had a gentleman jack and glass of wine while she had two glasses of wine. The food was seasoned well and was absolutely delicious. However, my enchilada was very chill on the inside. The waiter took the food back to the kitchen. The cooks put it in an oven and brought the dish back to our table. The cheese was bubbling hot on the outside, however the inside of the enchilada was only room temperature. Upon mentioning to the waiter that the food was still chill, he said something to the extent of: «I am surprised because I know it came from the oven.» Maybe he should have said«YESSIR» and brought it to the chefs attention instead. This was my valentines present to my fiancé. The waiter was very busy and over worked. He was accommodating with the exception of his remark after the second time I mentioned the food wasn’t hot. Despite my cold food we are both happy. The cold food MUST have been just an error in the cooking process. Despite this, the food was absolutely delicious. I must say, I am a bit surprised that this talented chef had such a simple menu on valentines day. I was expecting something much more exquisite than an enchilada and meatloaf for $ 100 on valentines day. After making reservations for Valentines Day, I was expecting to give Glenn’s Café 5 stars!!! There are three reasons why I am giving only two stars: Cold enchiladas knocked off one star and having a simple upscale pub menu took an additional star off. After a lot of thought I decided to take an additional star off because the waiters remark and actions after I mentioned for the second time that the food was chill. Over all my tab was shy of $ 100. No complaints here. I was expecting to pay more on Valentines Day. I left the waiter a generous tip and I do recommend this restaurant to someone who is looking for upscale but simple soul food.

The most boring over priced food I’ve had for a while, their 16 $ burger was oily, and tasteless. The service was okay. My friends had a 30 $ Steak and it was terribly cooked, the fries were sad and salty. My other friend ordered a super dry meatloaf. Not sure what this place is or what it’s trying to be.

My favorite restaurant in town. The blackened redfish. bourbon potatoes, and fried okra is the go to dish. So happy they’re back in Columbia.

Loved this place! The drink menu is fantastic. I recommend the Dirty Money cocktail. The oysters were wonderful. Can’t say enough about our server. Next time I come to Columbia I will eat here again and I will stay at the Tiger Hotel.

A great experience at Glenn’s! Between the unique speciality drinks, entrée selection and delicious desserts you will leave full and satisfying. The restaurant isn’t crowded but appropriate wait and speedy.

Fabulous place. Our server was wonderful, the décor was pleasing and all of the food was delicious. The name threw us off at first, but this is an upper-scale dining experience with a relaxed feeling.

The food here is amazing. They have a huge wine selection. All kinds of variety for any tastes. This is the perfect place for a nice quiet sit down diner for any occasion. I had a steak it was cooked perfect and came out very quickly. The fried pickles are to die for.

We had a great Saturday lunch at Glenn’s — I had a wonderful seasonal salad with fresh berries and green beans were great. husband said Jumbalaya wasn’t his favorite but the Hummingbird cake more than made up for that. I love the atmosphere and they were very accommodating given we had a fickle 1 year with us and went from eating outside back to inside.

We stopped at the Tiger Hotel to charge our Tesla and took the opportunity to have a lovely lunch at Glenn’s café after a nice walk around the charming little town of Columbia and the campus of the University of Missouri. Glenn’s has a handsome interior that is open yet cozy with dark furnishings yet a lot of natural light. It also has a nice outdoor seating area with umbrellas on the active yet fairly quiet street. The locals had recommended the Cobb salad and it did not disappoint. The Cobb salad was fabulous! It had fresh, crispy lettuce; chicken was moist, flavorful, and cut to the right size; bacon was just the right texture between crunchy and chewy; the avocado was at its peak; the dressing was just great. For appetizers we had quinoa fritters and fried okra. The quinoa and black bean fritters were an original, tasty treat with surprising lightness. The fried okra was amazing! Crispy on the outside, piping hot, good flavor, just a touch of that okra slime. Only minor negatives. Hamburger was a touch dry. Macaroni & Cheese was not steaming hot the way we like it. The service was good. Friendly enough and a good pace. Not too in your face. Overall, Glenn’s Café was a pleasant surprise — great food, nice décor, good service, cute town.

Went back for a lunch meeting. I didn’t pick the place. Ordered a prime rib sandwich and carrots. It was literally day old prime rib sliced and regrilled on bread. No cheese, no aus jus. 5 carrots. Gross.

The first time I went here, our service was great. We were served promptly and courteously. Since we liked it the first time, we decided to give it another go. The service was terrible. The poor waiter seemed like he was new. We had a party of 11, and he got every single order incorrect. Some were given the wrong sides with their meal, sides were forgotten, and sometimes even the main course was incorrect. It took almost an hour and a half for food to be delivered. Not only was the service a problem, but the women’s bathroom was out of function, but there was no sign. When I went to wash my hands the faucet didn’t work at all, and I found myself standing in a puddle of water. Gross! Since I already had soap on my hands I had to go into the men’s bathroom to finish washing my hands. It was not a pleasant experience, and I won’t be returning.

While misleading imaging Glenn’s Café not as an American diner, but a creole/American bistro. Cool and funky with a touch of Louisiana/New Orleans décor and flavors. Music is jazz/old school and fits with the atmosphere. The flavors: delicate and great! Not salty, but fresh and relying on the quality of the ingredients. We shared the popcorn crawfish appetizer: awesome lightly fried in delicate batter with a flavorful and cool dipping sauce. The Mac and cheese is literally a white cheddar cheese sauce(from real cheddar) and actual rigatoni pasta! Fabulous and rich. Enjoyed a cocktail and late lunch here very much.

I’m not really sure who Glenn’s Café’s target market is. The sign out front conveys a 1950s American Diner feel, but the atmosphere inside is more Swanky French Bistro. And then the music seemed to cater more towards my parents’ generation — Jackson Browne, Don Henley, a lot of James Taylor. I found all this inconsistency quite confusing, and the resulting atmosphere was just odd. We came in for a late Saturday lunch, and we were the only two people in the restaurant. It took 20 minutes for our food. My husband ordered Shrimp Creole, and I wanted just a regular old hamburger. The restaurant bills itself as having American cuisine; surely they can make a traditional burger? But we ran into some issues. First, apparently Glenn’s does not have yellow mustard; the waitress said they were out. She brought me the house Creole mustard with whole mustard grains. It was completely flavorless. The hamburger itself was not so much a hamburger as shredded beef on a bun. It was coming apart everywhere, and it was a little too salty. Hubby said his Shrimp Creole was just okay. I don’t think we would return.

Glenn’s is probably our favorite restaurant in town. I love their brunch on Sundays and their blackened red fish is one of my favorite dishes in the city. Lunch is a good value. Staff is great, food is awesome. The bloody Mary is probably the best one in town even rivaling Broadway brewery. Doesn’t get better in Columbia

Craving oysters, I decided to give Glenn’s a try without reading the reviews… Silly me. Started with an extremely loud restaurant. People yelling over each other and loud music in the background. I could barely hear myself think. Our waitress changed twice. It was bizarre and annoying to re-order our drinks twice. The food was mediocre at best, and not nearly tasty enough to make up for the extremely poor service. No one came to our table between the appetizer and main dish. It was 30 minutes of no service before we asked for some attention and new drinks. Horrible service, mediocre food. Try one of Columbia’s much better establishments like the Wine Cellar just a block away.
