Best food, those guys making the food sure do know what they’re doing! Food always comes out quick and the service is always friendly.

This place is amazing. I was a fan of Groucho’s from Pawley’s Island So when I moved to Columbia I made it my duty to find a local restaurant. From the 45 sauce to the customer service you can’t beat the Sparkleberry location. My wife is a huge fan of their salads and I personally can’t go more than a few weeks without a STP. I have not had a bad experience there dine-in or takeout. Same friendly smiling faces, they even play with my two year old daughter as she is making a mess of the place.

Mediocre sandwhich with mediocre service. Nothing special about this place what so ever. Probably will never go back…

Groucho’s Deli is the perfect spot for a quick lunch break if you’re short on time. The service is always excellent and I have rarely waited longer than 10 minutes for my food to arrive once ordered. The Apollo & Pink Moose are my absolute favorites. The sweet tea is also the best around. Groucho’s never disappoints.

Always delicious, especially the STP Dipper. I would have given then five stars, if the sauce was as good as Andi’s Deli.

Although in business since 1941 I was unfamiliar with Groucho’s until we moved back into the southeast. Have been to this location and the Indian Land one and the menus and features are similar. We hit this one when we go to the VA in Columbia. My 97 year old dad usually answers my «where or what do you want for lunch» question with an «I don’t care» answer. Lately he does not hesitate to reply, «Groucho’s,» although he sometimes says Google, but I understand what he wants. Why? The rolls are a soft bread, they are generally served warmed and the fillings are thin sliced meats and cheeses. A lot of seniors prefer softer things and Groucho’s does a great job at it. They also have a mini size, which suits my dad as well as me on some days. Good to have that option. And they will easily substitute meats and cheeses, so don’t be shy to ask. Pickle and chips come with sandwiches. The menu needs some study when you first try it out. So many combinations with odd names or initials. So take a bit of time to figure it out. There are also different sauces you can get such as their standard kinda thousand island with horseradish, Gorgonzola, and others that I can’t off-hand remember. They also have a selection of salads and deli sandwiches like pastrami, roast beef, etc. that are served on regular bread. I though them to be smaller portions of meat on just plain regular loaf bread. Stick to their STPs and Dippers to get the real Groucho’s hit. Service is constant. Lots of checking up on you and drinks are kept full. And that wonderful Southern tradition of asking if you want your drink to-go lives on at Groucho’s. In the summertime that to-go iced tea is a nice treat as you drive away from a great sandwich meal.

We love eating here. The food is always good and the workers are friendly. Some members of our family are vegetarian, and there are several options for all of us when we eat here. Love it! :)

I love Groucho’s and have eaten many STPs at many Groucho’s locations, but what I was just served was not the delicious sandwich I’m used to. The boys at this location just microwaved the soul out of an old sandwich that may have been an STP in a previous life. The meat was chewy, the cheese was so hot it melted the styrofoam container, infusing it with toxic chemicals, and the bread had parts that were too tough to chew. Had I not taken this to to and been too lazy to return this doorstop of a sandwich, I would have demanded my money back. If you choose to visit this location in spite of this warning, check your food before you leave or eat it there. Otherwise, I recommend avoiding these bums and enjoying some of the other Groucho’s locations.

Husband is addicted. He would go daily if he could. We’re new to South Carolina and glad to have found a solid Sammy joint. 45 sauce is addicting. Salads are good. Need tomatoes though and eggs!

I’ve heard about Groucho’s and their 45 sauce since I first moved here but this was my first visit. The staff greeted me warmly, made sandwich suggestions and served the food fast. I chose the STP dipper with muenster instead of Swiss — it and the sauce made the drive worth it. I can see why everyone raves about the sauce — a cross between thousand island and some other things would make most sandwiches taste great. Theirs didn’t need help — the meat was tender, juicy with lots of cheese — the sauce just took it to the next level. I’ll be back!

Great Deli with Great Service! Yes it is a somewhat chain restaurant but the family runs the show here and does a good job. Attention to detail oriented and has many repeat customers. I would much rather go here than Subway, Blimpie or Quiznos because the food is better plus you don’t have the 23 year old pot head jacking up your order behind the counter. Stop by it’s well worth it.

If you come in knowing what it is it’s great. Just a simple deli place. Always good. Turkey Bacon club has a quarter pound of bacon it seems. STP and the Rueben are great as well. The brownies are fantastic! Worth checking out if a sandwich is what you’re looking for.

A Columbia institution and every time I visit Columbia, a trip to Grouchos is required. It’s all about the 45 sauce and that is why the sandwiches are simple. The sauce is unreal. I think it’s a variation of a russian/thousand island dressing. Many people around town agree and the place is usually busy. My favorite is their roast beef as this is the best meat I’ve had there(skip the turkey). Their cookies are some of the softest anywhere and almost as great as that 45 sauce. Try the berry/white chocolate chip cookies. Sandwich chips and a pickle for around 6.50 $ can’t be beat. If you’re in the area it’s a must try place.

Not impressed. When I hear a microwave loud and clear in a restaurant that seems to have no other appliances, I have the urge to leave. However, my brother is addicted to their special sauce here so we gave it a try. The wait time is minimal, but the food is far from being impressive considering the price you pay. I’d recommend Andy’s downtown over this chain. If you just can’t part with the sauce, just buy a bottle and bring it to Andy’s. However, this may be the right place for Spring Valley students looking to upstage their fellow classmates during lunch.

Good food… no nonsense… quick service, and at a great price. Try the STP Dipper! The 45 sauce that comes with it is really good to dip your chips in, too.
