Went here after a 5k one night. We didn’t realize it until after we’d ordered, but we got there about 20 minutes until close. As a previous waitress and cook, I’ve made it a point to never be «that guest» because I know people want to be doing closing not work and going home. I felt so bad. However, every single person there was still kind and still abundantly helpful. Our server was very sweet and the food was amazing. To me, at the last minute, that speaks volumes about a place! We order everything from chicken and waffles to the kikis shoul food plate. This was perfect for after a long day and an energetic 5k. I promise to come back… And I promise to do it before closing time!!!

Oh my goodness, I LOVE this place! Get the red-velvet waffle or the plain waffle with chicken! Very generous portions and very friendly, hospitable staff. Will be returning.

I came during a poetry show and the waitress took a long time to get us a menu. That’s my only complaint about this place. The food is amazing. The waffles and chicken are good. I tried the sweet potato fries with brown sugar and glaze and they were the best sweet potato fries I have ever had.

Didn’t even get to try this place. Was recommended by so many but the horrible experience I had I just keep driving by. Came in and was seated by a hostess to a dirty table that she had to clean after we sat. We waited while two Waitresses came out and helped everyone around us. About 10 min passed and no one came to our table not even to ask us what we wanted to drink. Another waiter came out and helped the table in front of us but just walked by. No way can that even be ok. I support everyone business but can’t support rude people.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. My daughter and I found this place by chance after we left the overcrowded IHOP. We were so lucky. The chicken wings with French toast was great. And my daughter’s shrimp and grits was also delicious. A perfect mimosa was the cherry on top. I will definitely be back before leaving Columbia.

So I came from California to see my son graduate at Fort Jackson(boot camp). We decided to Unilocal soul food and a few came up near us. Being we’re from Cali we know chicken and waffles(roscoes chicken and waffles) is big deal in the Los Angeles area so off to KiKi’s we go. We had it set in our minds that no way is this better the the famous Roscoes. Walked in and the staff was so very pleasant(first point) we was seated promptly(second point) two of order the velvet waffle and chicken wings. Let start with the amazing waffle, it was light and full of flavor tasted just like red velvet cake(third point) and I was offed warm syrup(what!!! Really) well yes I would love warm syrup with my hot waffle(all smiles)… Now on to these wings… Can u say fried to perfection and well seasoned.(Fourth and fifth point) hell sixth point as well(yes that good) … I need KiKi to come on to the Los Angeles area(ASAP) so she and her lovely husband can come kill the waffle game… I’m what they call a fat kid meaning: I like to eat and I know food well!!! With all that said all I can say to anyone reading this is:((if you want love on a plate pls try KiKi’s.))

I’m in town for training at Ft. Jackson and one of my classmates suggested we try this place out. My fiancé and I were seated immediately and while waiting for our server, we enjoyed listening to the music in the background(a little R. Kelly-Step in the name of Love, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson ect). Our server was very polite and our drinks and food arrived very quickly. I took a bite of my waffle and it literally melted in my mouth. I can say hands down that so far it was the best I ever tasted. My fiancé loved her grits and mentioned that her fish was a little under seasoned but still fried nicely and hot. As we drifted off into food heaven, we snapped back into reality upon hearing this loud commotion of «FUCKYOUBITCH! I WILLFUCKYOUUP!!!» We both looked over and saw 2 female employees literally about to fight! Other workers gathered around to split them up but it didnt keep the 2 girls from yelling obscenities to one another. There were a lot of patrons inside the restaurant, young and old, but the 2 girls didnt care. A group of workers were able to take one outside but the one that was left inside still continued to yell out how she will«Fuck that bitch up!» Some people left but my fiancé and I stayed… shocked at what happened… but stayed. Truth be told, I didnt wanna walk away from that waffle and chicken! I would have given this place 5 stars had that incident not taken place. Our server did apologize and the manager came and apologized as well. I’m still shocked the employees werent professional enough to handle their differences down the street somewhere, but if in the area again, I would come back. Check it out if ur in town. Just be prepared for ANYTHING!!!

My wife and I went to Kiki’s new location for a late lunch. First impression of the facility was upscale compared to the old location, although my wife said she missed the cozy atmosphere of the old place. I think new place is much nicer with more parking. One thing that hasn’t changed is the friendly staff. Our hostess was very pleasant and seated us quickly(no small feat considering how busy they were). Our waitress, Melanie, was super friendly and attentive. Now for the important part: the food. My wife got her usual chicken and waffles. Kiki’s would be a great place to eat even if that’s all they sold. It doesn’t get much better. Except maybe the fried pork chop. It was juicy and coated with the same amazing breading they use on their chicken. Bottom line, you owe it to yourself to eat at Kiki’s. You will not be disappointed.

I dined alone to get some wedding business taking care of. This is a new location for them. Very spacious, nice clean smell. Wait time to be seated was short and it was during lunch time on a Saturday. The hostess and waitress were very pleasant. It’s a bit pricey, but the food was good. My food came out really quick! I had the salmon party combo and added a half waffle. Good could have been a bit hotter but that’s just probably me! Overall I wouldn’t say it was worth all of the hype people talk about it being so awesome. I have had better for a fraction of the cost. But it was yummy and a nice atmosphere. Now about those restrooms! Eek! I hope they were in progress for being cleaned because geesh they were kinda icky! But overall a good experience:)

Everything was great about this place. Love the new location, they are just slow to get the food out to you. If you are on a time crunch for lunch don’t come here planning to get back to work on time.

I’m giving one star because our server was so nice and the chicken wings were really good. That’s where our good experience ended. I had not been to Kiki’s before so I asked the server what he recommended. He, of course, recommended the chicken and waffles and some other items on the breakfast menu. So I asked him if we should stick with breakfast and he said, «most definitely.» This was not a good sign as the breakfasts were only a quarter of the menu. So I ordered the chicken(breast) and waffles and my daughter ordered the Soul food plate with chicken wings, rice and gravy, and green beans. She also ordered the sweet potato waffle fries as an appetizer. Half an hour later, the water brought out the fries. We had someplace we needed to be(we really thought 45 minutes was adequate time to have lunch, but we were wrong) so we asked for our food to go. As I drove to our scheduled appointment my daughter ate her lunch in the car. She took one bite of the rice and gravy and declared that it was jarred gravy. Then she took a bite of the green beans and declared they were canned. Really? She then started on her wings and declared they were some of the best she’d ever eaten. One out of three. I was not able to eat my lunch until our appointment was over and by that time, the chicken was, of course, no longer crisp and was bland and stringy and the waffle was soggy. I couldn’t eat it. I don’t think we’ll be going back. The wings were good, but there are other places with good wings and where the sides are made from scratch.

Never had Chicken and waffles before in my life. I’m a true Southern Boy, that never had this unique meal before now. I will return. The sweet and salty mix is perfect. I went all out with the red velvet waffle and wings. The red velvet was like a sweet dessert from heaven and the wings was cooked to perfection. If your looking for something truly different give it a try. Don’t expect a five star restaurant but expect good old home folk’ that are super friendly and a home style meal.

Being fairly new to the Columbia area, I love to venture out and see the food spots(greedy, I know)! My nieces wanted to stop here. We did! The parking lot is a little snug. We walked in and I liked the setup. It was really nice. We sat and was welcomed by a nice young man. He immediately took our drink order. Once he came back, we placed our orders and OMG! The food was splendid. The chicken was great and the waffles were yummy! The staff was very nice. I will definitely be going back to this place again.

Great home-town eatery. They are known for chicken and waffles. I recommend the red velvet waffles. They are really good. I went there with several people and all their dishes looked good. I can’t wait to go back and try more options. Though it will be hard to not choose the Red Velvet Waffles again. Never knew this place existed. It is located in a strip mall off the main road. Despite a decent parking lot, parking is scarce. However, I hear they are moving to a better location down Two Notch Road next year. I also learned from another reviewer that they have a food truck in soda city. Can’t wait to check it out!

At the recommendation of one of my clients, and thanks to the advertising KiKi’s chose to place within that establishment, I was drawn to visit KiKi’s Chicken and Waffles and sample their fare… WORTHEVERYEFFORTTOEATHERE I lucked up and happened inside while the place was not packed with people, chose to listen to the servers recommendations on what to try first, and cherished every savory bite of my sweet potato waffle garnished in icing and brown sugar, along with the massive and delectable full-sized chicken wings that were cooked to perfection. WHAT A JOYTOENJOYTHISPLACE! Not only was the cuisine divinely satisfying, but every single person I met who works there was kind, helpful, and happy to exemplify an attitude that beamed with pride for the dining experience they represent. HIGHLYRECOMMENDTHISTOANYONE You would do yourself a disservice if not to stop by and visit KiKi’s.

Loved this place soon as we walked in we were greeted by our server he lead us to our seat took our drink orders and gave us a few seconds to look over the menu. All the food that was coming out the kitchen smelled sooo good we went with the chocolate chip waffles(they tasted like soft cookies) a side of grilled shrimp the red velvet waffle(was perfect didn’t even need syrup) and 4wings w Mac & cheese n greens. Everything was great! As we were finishing up our meal another server approach dour table to let us know that the lady across from us had paid for the kids meals(I was so great full as I have done this a time or two or more. If by chance she reads this we will pay it forward and thank you) This was a experience with good food and great service we will be back!

On a Saturday before Mother’s Day I thought I might have a little trouble finding somewhere to eat in Columbia. After a trip to the Coach store I figured we’d find this place before heading back to Augusta. It’s located at the end of a strip mall. There was hardly any parking in the entire lot due to a club and other businesses there. We got there around 7pm. There was a nice crowd and a few parties waiting. We were told the wait was going to be 15 minutes but it was almost 30. We took advantage of the time by looking the menu over. Once seated we ordered the fried okra as an appetizer. They were fresh, hot and crispy. Mister ordered the chicken with the pecan waffle and ordered chicken with the red velvet waffle. The chicken(wings) were fried to perfection and well seasoned. I tasted Mister’s waffle and it was very good. The red velvet was the winner for me. It was a light and fluffy waffle with a nice taste of red velvet. The cream cheese icing made it heaven. I don’t go to Columbia often but when I do, I won’t hesitate to make sure KiKi’s is on the itinerary.
