This is like the DMV of the medical world and insurance shake down all blended together in one cocktail served to you in a sticky glass and a hole in the straw. I have to wonder a little how they stay so busy and so many people are willing to play this game. It goes like this, your insurance is going to be billed $ 800 for today’s labs. If your insurance does not cover 100 percent, we will bill your credit card the remainder. I witnessed this enough times to tell you what happens next. Now the person sort of wiggles a little in their seat. The employee then says something like, well you know how insurance companies are, they do not like to pay. Folks, insurance will pay for costs and fees that are reasonable. I cannot believe I am defending insurance companies here, but, when a provider signs a contract with the company they know what they are getting paid for and how much. Depending on your insurance, you can have a copay or deductible, or what have you. But it is my opinion that these folks know they are overcharging hoping to get the difference from those that will have the charge bounced off their credit card. If that’s not rough enough, the staff can be very miserable to say the least, the waiting area is too small, the waits too long, and generally a miserable experience. What a mess this place is. Go at your own risk. Although I cannot imagine why you would.

Awful. They forgot about me and skipped me. Didn’t really even apologize saying she doesn’t know what happened. Wasted so much time here. Avoid.

So the 4 stars is based on the people who work at this labcorp, also note that we have only been here once so I can only speak to the people who were working that day. Everyone was nice and courteous and they answered any questions we had. I thought they did a great job! My issue is with LabCorp the company. My wife had a gluose test and there are several differant companies out there that make the gluocse drink. One of them as BVO, which is very bad for you and toxic. When we asked for another brand, they did not have any other, so we had to drink the toxic brand. I would hope Labcorp would stock differant brands to give people who are worried about what they put into their bodies a choice. I was greatly dissappoointed in LabCorp the company not the employees that work at this Labcorp.

ABSOLUTLYABSURD that because my 8yr old could not go to the bathroom for a specimen, I was charged TWO copays. One for original testing and ANOTHERCOPAY the next day when I dropped his specimen off! No one told me that while there, I guess they really just want your money!

Please do not go to this place! I went here bc it is in the same building as my doctor and it was just routine blood work, but next time I’ll drive to another location. The tech I had(a light skinned girl with short hair) drew my blood and then set my tubes next to 4 other tubes that were not mine. Mind you I have on nursing scrubs and she was still doing things against standard practice. I said«oh are all of those mine?» To let her know I realized she was mixing blood tubes. She said no just the last 2. Very unprofessional to lay blood tubes from 2 different people next to each other for risk of mixing up specimens. Can I even trust my test results? Also, when she called me back she just hollered my name from the back and said«room 1». I couldn’t even see her, but I did as instructed and opened the door and went to room 1. So then she goes to the waiting room looking for me, to which I had to say«I’m in room 1» uh like you told me. I’m seriously about to call joint commission on this place.

What a terrible experience! Will NOT return to this location! I needed to go on a Saturday due to my schedule & was not able to get an appointment so I was prepared for a wait. It ended up beign almost an hour wait to get my blood drawn. What I was not prepared for was the rudeness of their staff. The woman at the check in desk had an attitude and was rude to everyone coming in. The woman who drew my blood was downright mean and was very rough when drawing my blood. I will never put myself through that experience again! Be warned!

Regarding recent visit to Labcorp location: 5450 Knoll N Dr, Columbia, MD21045 I’m an RN and I just had the most horrifying experience at Labcorp. Firstly, the front desk staff member chastised my husband and I when we came up to the front desk, stating«I called your name three times» though she called me by my first name and mispronouced it. When I said«I’m sorry, I didn’t hear you and you didn’t say my name correctly» she continued to argue with us and even insulted my husband’s handwriting. But the worst past was that the phlebotomist that was drawing our labs did not wash his hands or even alcohol his hands prior to putting on his gloves. I had to ask him to wash them. His clothes were disheveled, he was drowsy, and his hands were abit shaky. He also had a ½in long pinky finger nail. He dropped the needle assembly on the ground, then proceeded to pick it up and began to try to draw my blood when I stopped him and pointed out that he was nowhere near using aseptic technique. This young gentleman was also training someone with him that day, risking his bad practices being picked up by a new employee. I decided not to have my blood drawn there at all. We informed the manager, who was polite, but did not seem bothered that her employee was not following standard hygenic practices. We will no longer be using Labcorp and will have our requisitions be send to Quest instead.

It’s actually 5450 Knoll N Dr. In anycase, it’s very clean and though the people are not overly friendly, they aren’t mean neither. Without an appointment, it took an hour for me to get my blood drawn. But I saw people who did have an appointment and they were seen in about 10 to 15 minutes. So note to self, next time, make an appointment. =)
