Happened to go there for breakfast and our group enjoyed our meal. Definitely more on the healthy side as far as the food selection went. The food wasn’t full out amazing, but it was nice enough for it to be a nice breakfast spot. The atmosphere here was definitely nice and relaxing. The waitress was very friendly and checked in on us a few times(not excessively, just the right amount to check if we needed re-fills or were done with our meals). Would come back again for another breakfast get together with my friends.

I’ve only had drinks from the bar as of yet, but I’m excited to try brunch/lunch here soon. I saw someone else with the caprese salad and it looks TODIEFOR! The service we received was really attentive and they make a damn good signature bloody mary!

Another one of these local places I’ve always wanted to try(especially since I frequent the nearby Nickelodeon Movie Theatre quite a bit). A group of us were there last night(before heading over to the Nick) for dinner. I am not sure if it was just an off night, service wise(hence my usual lower than normal star rating), but I thought I heard them say that they had been(more than usual?) busier by the time we got there. One plus was once we did order, our food did come out quickly. There’s is a variety of food options(sandwiches, salads, main dishes, and pizzas). I had ordered a pizza, but beware, the pizzas are about the size of a small pizza from a local pizza joint(though after waitress told me pizza was big, I had planned to take some home with me for leftovers). Also, we had ordered desserts(and apparently there is two sizes of cakes — small and large). The minus for me was we had not indicated we were eating in(or takeout), and not sure if waitress had assumed we were taking desserts home with us, but when the desserts were brought out, they were packaged as if we were taking the desserts to go(we did wind up eating in). Restaurant itself is on the small-ish side, not ideal for big groups. I’m not see how catering differs(I’m assuming there is catering as catering is in name of restaurant) in relation to what is catered and pricing. Parking can be tricky as well as the restaurant is in the heart of Main Street.

My husband and I had dinner last night at Michael’s on Main. The dinner was absolutely wonderful. Jeff provided outstanding service. He was friendly but unobtrusive. We had both specials; fish and chips and prime rib. Both meals were perfect. The prime rib was cooked perfectly medium rare. The sides were great. My husband’s fish and chips were excellent. The horseradish sauce should be bottled and sold. Thank you for a enjoyable dinner.

I love this place! Great shrimp and grits. They are dog friendly as well. I love people watching on Main St. The mimosas are my favorite part!

I came here with my friend for brunch on a rainy Saturday morning. The place was absolutely packed. The host stand is a little askew, it’s not directly in front of the door, so we did a little bit of looking around until we found the seating hostess, who didn’t look too happy. She took us to our seats, which were on the right hand side of the café against the wall at a high table. The inside is very cute, with local artwork on the walls that is available for purchase. They also have a very nice looking bar area where you can also sit, and it is made of dark wood. You can see into the kitchen depending on where you sit and I have to say it is definitely one of the roomiest kitchens I have ever seen. They apparently have some kind of big room in the back, not sure what it is for. They also offer Sunday brunch buffet. Their bathrooms are very fancy, but there are only two of them. People who were in line basically had to stand right next to our table, which was a little awkward. The menu is pretty standard, which is where the star deductions come in. The food here is just not anything special. It’s fine. It’s the same stuff you could honestly get anywhere else for probably the same price. There was nothing unique that stood out. I ordered French toast and it was just plain old French toast. My friend ordered a breakfast burrito and it was just a plain old breakfast burrito. We also got a mimosa pitcher that was kinda small for a pitcher(amounted to 2 glasses each) and it was more champagne than orange juice, which is not necessarily a bad thing. There’s just not anything really unique about this place. Would I come back? Probably, but not because something special caught my eye.

Came for dinner… food was awesome. Not to many people in there. Serves was good, may because of the small crowd but it was good.

I’m a big fan of Michael’s Café for breakfast or lunch. Haven’t been for dinner or brunch yet, but brunch is on my list! Have never had a disappointing meal yet. Last visit was eggplant parm and a side salad for $ 8.95 — not only was it delicious but it was also huge! I feel like I got way more than my money’s worth. At least for breakfast and lunch, it is a seat yourself and get your own drink kind of place. I’m confused about the few reviews that say they had to wait to be seated — must be a dinner thing.

Had brunch there today and their service was slow. Restaurant was not crowded and I was seated immediately. It still took one hour from the time of seating before food was delivered. I saw others who ordered before me receive their food later. Some people cancelled their orders. Others got their food to go. A nice restaurant in a great location, they just need a little more organization.

Waited almost half an hour to be seated. Like a previous review, the place wasn’t all that busy. After being seated, we waited another fifteen minutes before placing our orders. Been sitting here over thirty minutes now and still waiting on the food. Zero stars for service and still waiting! Just got up and walked out! No food! We are now down the street and Cantina 76!

Spicy pimento cheese toasted on wheat: tasty but not melted. Fish and chips special: the fillets look like Gordons but are quite good. The chips were thick cut potato chips, not freedom fries. Smallish serving of unremarkable slaw. The quality for value is good. Service for me was excellent as i ate at an inside table. I would come back a third time if i return to Columbia.

Based on food alone I give this place 3.5 stars after the lunch I had today. I ordered the chicken philly the lunch special today but instead of fries I opted for the sweet potato tots. The sand which was indeed great but the tots weren’t crispy at all, in fact they tasted undercooked or something. Hoping to try some other items to see how they add up in the near future.

I and some friends just stopped by Michael’s Café & Catering last Saturday for a late lunch. The staffs were very nice and welcoming. I had a club croissant which was very delicious and good-looking. One of my friends had egg sandwich with chips and she said they were wonderful. The other girl had a pizza which looked pretty good as well. The salad was spot-on. I definitely recommend this place for a day out.

Michael’s is across the street from my apartment building, which makes it easily accessible. The food here is AMAZING — the pizza is the best I’ve had in a long time(and at $ 12.95 for a large, the price can’t be beat either). We asked for extra cheese and the server didn’t charge us. They also have a varied drink and dessert menu that’s also impressive. It’s one of the only places I’ve found that makes a good bloody Mary during the week. I gave it four stars, only because the service can be really slow in the evenings if you’re getting food since it seems they kind of cater more to the after-work drink crowd. Also the last two times I’ve been there and ate inside, it seems like the AC has been broken.

So, back on the road we were looking for a place for breakfast that was pet friendly and… Thanks to Unilocal we found this great café. I called ahead to confirm pets were allowed and they said Yes! So we went there and saw people eating delicious omelets and breakfast sandwiches. We found a nice place to sit outside and the café manager and servers were very cheerful and eager to serve us and they loved our dog. The menu was very appetizing and the prices were perfect. Pretty much everyone ordered the garden omelette with croissant and fruit. It was delicious, so much so that I forgot to take a picture before I dug in, but I did snap a pic of delicious looking morsel of omelette with peppers, onions and mushrooms and cheese, top it with chulula sauce and you are ready to rock the day!

Tried the grilled cheese here and was a little disappointed because it tasted like Velveeta inside and not real cheese. Next time I’ll try the Philly which looked really good. Outdoor seating is nice and staff was really friendly. The wait time is not conducive to hour long work week lunch breaks so plan on being late to work(oh darn) or call ahead.

Good products, the pesto sauce is delicious! We started with the stuffed mushrooms which were delicious– my only complaint would be there weren’t more on the plate! We asked the waiter what Detroit Style pizza was and he agreed he’d never heard of that but went on to tell us it was New York style which changed my order. While all the individual ingredients were delicious and the pie wasn’t bad, it was not New York style at all and I was a little disappointed. The outdoor seating was nice, our server checked on us frequently and overall it was very enjoyable. The two cons being that on Main St. we did get panhandlers walking by and the waiter seemed to be new, he had trouble answering any of the questions about the menu correctly.

Michael’s is another spot I like to frequent for lunch(they offer breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch on Sundays). I’ve tried… For Breakfast ~ Smoked Gouda & Spinach Omelet(egg whites only) — didn’t care for it too much, it was very greasy and tasted like it was cooked in margarine or verrrrry salty butter. For Lunch ~ Firecracker Shrimp Salad w. Honey Mustard — sooooooo good(even without the bacon!), the salad is fresh and crisp, the shrimp is deep fried in a spicy batter… Highly recommend! Side of fries — they’re always fried perfectly, and the seasoning(I think it’s just salt and pepper) is not too heavy. Customer service has always been great, the lead cashier seems to enjoy her job very much — if you’re a regular she remembers your order! They have daily breakfast and lunch specials posted on their website and chalk boards in the restaurant — they also have that cool Coca-Cola Freestyle drink machine. The line can get kind of long during lunch hours 12pm-1:30pm, so I’d recommend calling your order in or going during non-peak hours if you’re pressed for time.
