You can’t judge a book by its cover and the same goes for sub shop on Worley. The appearance of the building and interior may not warrant to the fantastic huge subs that are served here. My go to at sun is the turkey. I usually get the regular so I have two meals. It’s a huge sub and with the free fries going on right now it’s a huge win.

I am in town for work and figured that a place with the name«Sub Shop» that is not a chain would be worth trying. This place was awesome, had the roast beef sub, was happy to see it came hot on a toasted roll. Service was excellent, music was great, for me it was a fantastic lunch. If work brings me back through here again, I will be having lunch here for sure.

First and possibly only time we’ll visit. The staff are funky and that goes right along with the building BUT the food is what I’ll describe as being unsatisfactory! The turkey sandwich was flavorless and the only time I tasted anything but bread was when I added salt and pepper! They also charge for drink refills! Not a fan and cannot recommend!

Dare I say that Sub Shop is one of my favorite places to eat while visiting Columbia, simply put their sandwiches are phenomenal. I will be the first to admit that the inside of the store is by no means a place you would want to dine it, the tables and flooring are dated and music from the kitchen spills out into the dining area. Now with that all being said carry out or delivery is the way to go. Now as far as the food goes here its top notch, as a majority of the menu is made in house. Not only does Sub Shop make their one bread, but they also make their own meatballs and sauces! Before deciding on which sandwich you want you will need to select your bread, White, Whole Wheat or Rye. I usually go with the Whole Wheat, however the white is great too. For my sandwich I prefer the regular, which is bologna, salami, mozzarella and pizza sauce, trust me it all works together very well. If you are not feeling like the Regular, the Ham & Cheese is a solid choice, and its topped with your favorite dressing. Prices are very reasonable, however I recommend getting the whole sandwich. Also be sure to check their daily specials, as each weekday you can get a great deal on a unique sub.

The homemade bread is spectacular. Quality ingredients, large portions, fun people and atmosphere. I love this place!

We all Love hippies, why wouldn’t you want to have your sandwich marginally prepared by one? Here is why, After walking into a building that’s filthy inside and out, including their deadlocked, zit faced, stoned person with teeth and breath like something from the pre-historic era at the counter that would rather you leave than place an order. You stand there blank faced attempting to traverse an completely un-cohesive menu with no decernable list of ingredients or individual prices you might take a stab in the dark and order a random sub like the roast beef. Safe Choice right? Yeah if you want some sort of grey horse meat with a shoe leather consistency and only mayo to help choke that dryness down. For a place that boasts«The best Buns in Town» you’d think that it would be amazing this is not the case. I’ve been more impressed with a store bought deli roll than this hot dog bun with sesame seeds on it. the cheesecake was garbage the no bake generic kind crushes this sad excuse for a dessert. The cinnamon bun is basically the equivalent in density to a flavorless hockey puck with icing on it. The main question here is how is this place still open. At $ 11 for a sub you’d be better of going anywhere else. G&D is a block away and you can get a steak sandwich and fries for $ 9.

Love this place. It is a family favorite and 80 miles from home. Definitely a dive and easily the best sub within a 100 mile radius. Definitely get the fries. They are homemade potato chips. Hot, salty, greasy and downright delightful.

Polish sausage on my Italian sandwich? I’m beginning to wonder about the validity of all of their awards. But then again I guess Columbia doesn’t have much competition

Ran over here and picked up a couple Veggies to bring home for lunch. They’re kind of like pizza without the marinara, with the three melted cheeses and the«toppings» of bell pepper, onion, mushroom, olive – sounds like pizza, right? Two of us ate 1.5 whole subs for lunch(0.5 leftover), so $ 15.45+tax for lunch for two – more expensive than, e.g., 2 Chipotle burritos, and identical in price to a medium Shakespeare’s Vegetablenarian pizza. They are particularly tasty if you’ve just run a few miles in 90 degree heat, but won’t be part of my regular rotation.(And what’s up with a «hippie» place not using organic ingredients or anything?)

Two words: delicious sandwiches. The bread, the toppings, all toasted and good. I usually get the turkey and my husband loves the Italian sandwich so much that he’s started trying to re-create it any other place he has a sandwich. This location also has fries, which are like a warm, thick chip and are also totally delicious. I wouldn’t say that this place will win any awards for décor — the seats are a bit past their prime. But there’s a bit of a classic rock theme that’s cool and I’m not too worried about looks when I’m chowing down on a great meal.
