Without a doubt, the best place for pizza near the USC campus. Ingredients are always fresh and diverse, with more combinations than one could ever try. Price is reasonable. While there’s not much they can do about the space, when the busy seating is difficult.

BACKGROUND My wife and I are in our mid-20s and dine out 4 – 6 times per week. ATMOSPHERE The atmosphere was appropriate and nice for a make-you-own-pizza place. FOOD(–2 stars) Having been extremely familiar with competing chains(like Your Pie), we were expecting a ‘healthy’ pizza choice. This place did not meet that expectation. There was way too much cheese, and the price was honestly absurd. The pizza had so much fat /cholesterol on it that I could only finish half of my pie. ADVICETOMANAGEMENT Retrain your front of house team to appropriately measure out the cheese /sauce ratio, rather than just slathering it on like there is no tomorrow. There is a science to pizza, and your team does not have the right formula. OVERALL We will not be back. It meets that pizza craving, but was way too expensive and did not even taste very good.

Pretty neat choices, and the prices are very decent. The place has a bit of a chain feel to it, but overall I enjoy eating here. The staff seem friendly, and the food is really good. I like it for lunch, but I don’t think I’d find it that filling for dinner. It does tend to take a little while to get your food, but I guess that’s the same at most pizza places.

Awesome food. Awesome owner. Love eating here! Very personal service. It’s a franchise but locally owned, and feels like a local pizza joint. Steak and Blue pizza is my all time favorite, but I just tried the Backyard BBQ«foldwich» which was delicious.

I really like the concept of this place. It’s like the subway of pizzas. You get to pick what you want to put on your pizza and they put it on the pizza in front of you. They have a good amount of topping options and size options too. I really liked this place at first because it was walkable from campus but then the second time I got it, it was just okay. They have trivia night so if you want to go get beer, pizza, and play trivia this place would be a good option!

We’ve always had a nice experience at Uncle Maddio’s(minus our most recent visit), parking has always been easy(we come either later in the evening after normal dinner times or late afternoons and always get a parking spot on main st). I think the concept is cool… similar to subway and moes. Our pizzas have always been good — enough toppings and crispy(I love getting the balsamic drizzle over my pizza). They have a decent variety which includes vegan and gluten free options! Our latest visit was on a Friday night, there’s no one ahead of us or behind us so we take a little time trying to figure out what kind of pizzas we’re going to create this time. My son is always the easiest… BUT, this time he wanted HALFPEPPERONI, HALFCHEESE… My bf placed his order first with the girl behind the counter… I then placed my order with another guy who then passes me on to the same girl that prepared my boyfriend’s pizza… His is already in the oven. She takes my order for my son first, even repeating«half pep, half cheese…» Then the original guy comes back to create my pizza… I’m no longer watching or paying attention to the original girl bcuz I figured it was simple enough. He prepares my pizza, I then move down the line to pay… the same girl that prepared my son’s and bf’s pizzas was now at the register taking my payment(maybe this is the problem). We go sit at our table and wait for our pizzas(we ordered Togo). The original guy finally comes out with our pizzas and opens each box to confirm our orders are correct… My son’s pizza is first… ALLPEPPERONI… I tell him, «well we actually ordered half and half,» he laughs a little and says, «I know, I didn’t make this one, I told them I’d go out and show it to you and if you guys are cool with it then okay.» So I «laugh…» He goes through the remaining two boxes and they’re fine — he proceeds to say«ok have a good night…» And then I’m like… «Ummm can we get that half pep half cheese?» «Oh okay» Strange. He walks away without the pizza box. We wait. A manager comes over and says, «how can I help you?» Now I’m a little annoyed… Because he was clearly sent over for something, why didn’t the guy tell him? Long story short — HE apologized, fixed the pizza and gave us a coupon for a free 9″ two topping pizza. Which we haven’t been back to use. So all-in-all there was a happy ending. Thank you manager for giving us great customer service! PS — we tried the garlic bread this time and hated it, it’s heavily seasoned, but in our opinion has NOFLAVOR at all, the sweet tomato/pizza sauce they give with it doesn’t help either!

Uncle Maddio’s is one of my favorite places near USC’s campus. I like that I get to decide how I want my pizza prepared. Think of this place as a Chipolette /Moe’s meets a pizza joint. The ingredients are very good quality, I especially love the steak. My personal favorite pizza is the BBQ Chicken pizza with extra crispy crust. The place is always well clean, and there is plenty of seats with outlets so I can work while I eat. Plus, the owners are almost always their and they are super friendly. Overall, the service is outstanding. It is only about $ 10 for a pizza with 3 toppings and a drink… not bad for dinner. Plus, they have amazing deserts. Simply put, if you want a good pizza made to your liking come to Uncle Maddio’s you won’t be disappointed!
