Vennaris Pizza & Subs

Felt like getting delivery on a lazy Saturday. Didn’t feel like the usual Pizza Hut or Papa Johns, so looked for some decent reviewed places on Unilocal.We came across this place which had 3.5 stars with decent reviews. HUGE REGRET.
We ordered about $ 50 worth of food. They said 45 – 60 minutes for delivery but came about 80 minutes later. The driver called saying he’s running a little late… understandable.
We ordered a gyro in which we asked for extra sauce on the side. NO EXTRA SAUCE. We asked for crispy fries. Instead, they came EXTRA SOGGY. We ordered onion rings. Instead, we got SOGGY ONION RINGS with some RINGS that didn’t even have any onions in them. All the onion rings were stuck to the box, flattened. We ordered the buffalo pizza. Could not believe how much grease was on that. Underneath the box was completely drenched and felt like the pizza would fall out of the box any time. Asked for Diet Coke as my drink, but got apple juice. Did not even get any dressing for my salad, which looked like they just threw some lettuce in the box where they put the gyro.
Everything about my food, order, place, experience was off. Never again…

This is by far the best pizza I’ve ever had, I’ve had multiple people tell me to try this place out. I was skeptical at first thinking all my friends were just over exaggerating about this places food. But in no way shape or form were they lying. You can really taste the quality of their ingredients. & for me it’s really hard to find a pizza that has sauce I actually like, I go here almost once a week. The staff is friendly & courteous. Only problem I ever had was they messed up my pizza order, but let’s be honest the pizza is so good I just ended up eating the pizza anyway lol. Best pizza in Columbia/​Ellicott City hands down.

Horrible customer service!!! They messed up our order. & we called them to inform & the guy said why not pick it off!!! Wth would have happened if I was allergic? Not even a sorry! Never again!

Damn good pizza. Try the Hawaiian. The place is a little hole in the wall, however gives a friendly atmosphere.
Will definitely return for another pizza.

I don’t eat under-​cooked chicken, and neither should you.
First order last night. Pizza and two types of wings. It came 1:20 later, the pizza was lukewarm and the wings showed chicken blood when you bit into them — both flavors. The wings went right in the trash. The pizza could have been better.

By far the best pizza I’ve ever had in Columbia. Sauce is amazing. It’s definitely a place for carry out/​delivery in my opinion. Only a few tables and nothing special to look at, but pizza is awesome!

And in conclusion…
This is what I call New York Style pizza. Good quality ingredients in a simple, greasy pizza. And when I say greasy that isn’t a negative. Sometimes this is just what I’m looking for.

I’ve only had the pizza and the wings but I look forward to trying everything on the menu. The wings are the best I’ve had so far in Columbia. I never post reviews but felt obligated. They are large and fresh and have been consistently good every time I’ve ordered them. Definitely my go-​to.

If you like NY style pizza this is a good option in the Oakland Mills area. I ordered some delivery and was told it would like 30 – 45 minutes before it would arrive. To my surprise it actually came in about 20 – 25 min. The pizza was good but they are a little stingy with the toppings. I ordered a lark pepperoni with onions and green peppers. I like the fact that they slice the onions and peppers up very thin here. The pizza was a little on the greasy side but that doesn’t bother me too much. It was 19 for a Large which is about what you would expect. I would pick them over Little Caesars but over all not the best pizza in Columbia,

Not a great stop. The place is dirty. No napkins in the napkin holders. The tables are sticky. The food was ok Service was slow. Pizza ok cheese steaks empty especially the meat. Prices not cheap but not expensive 25 bucks to feed 3 people. I won’t be coming back. Ps. The bathrooms were locked. The man behind the counter gave my son a quarter to open the locked door. I think i should call the health depart Monday. Our whole party had to use the bathrooms in the grocery store located next door

The pizza was ok. We got the 2 slice special with medium drink. Only drink options were soda… what about the folks that don’t drink soda… Went to use the restroom and the women’s bathroom the toilet was not even operational. The men’s was just down right gross. Can’t say I’ll be back.

A nice surprise for a neighborhood pizza place. Pizza is really amazing, especially after traditionally picking the chain pizza places to fulfill weekend «too lazy to cook» cravings. This is my new go-​to place.

Excellent pizza. I ordered pizza for friends and they were complimentary. Great sauce and flavor.

I got a pizza and a stromboli for a family pizza night on a whim a few months ago, and my husband’s reaction was, «I’ve live here for twenty years — how did I not know about this place? There is no reason to order from chain pizza places ever again!»
That pretty much sums it up. Top-​notch ingredients and results.

Absolutely disgusting. I asked for it to not be greasy and it was. I asked for it to be well done and it wasn’t. Cheese was hard. Pizza was thin. Never again.

So I’m kind of a dope, I’ll admit. I avoided going here because I mixed it up with the pizza chain Vocellis. Nowhere near the same.
After a friend turned me onto the pizza dude on Vice Munchies (or jerk, depending on who you ask) I decided to give this place a try. After a few consecutive Fridays of ordering, I figured out the perfect base configuration:
*regular sauce
*extra sauce
*well baked
From there, the toppings available are simple but good. Basic sides likes wings, cheesesticks, etc don’t look particularly sexy from looking at the menu but I assure you that despite my own skepticism I tried most of it and was pretty pleased. Very very fast and affordable too, even up against the hordes of quality delivery pizza/​subs/​wings options in HoCo. Vennari’s has quickly become my dependable standby for pizza. Delivery driver (son?) is super cool too, and always remembers me despite not being a regular.

Nice local guys running a pizza/​sub shop. Pizza is freshly made and it is delicious! The pizza looks just as delicious as it does on pictures. Although it didn’t taste as good when I reheated it the next day, the place is only 2 minutes away from my house and I would return to this place over little Caesar’s in heart beat!!!

I wasn’t expecting much from this place, so I was pleasantly surprised. I got a vegetable pie with sausage, cooked well-​done, and I was blown away! Quite possibly the best pie in HoCo.
The sad part is that this place is right next to a Little Caesars, so you see all this foot traffic going in and out of there… you just want to scream because they don’t know what kind of a gem they have here! Support local business.

Okay, so I absolutely hate re-​heated pizza by the slice, but I was so hungry I had to stop for a slice of cheese in between errands. Vennari’s did not let me down. The slice was large, saucy, and had a great texture for a reheated slice of pizza. I really liked the crust-​see picture. It had a great chew to it. The sauce was spiced appropriately. This isn’t your «craft» or «artisan wood-​oven» pizza, but I am happy to know that they are nearby, but next time I will look forward to a fresh pie.

Vennaris Pizza owned by good people, a small family owned business located in Robert olive place in the same shopping center as Food Lion in Columbia.
They ain’t the fanciest and cleanest pizza shop in Columbia but they got really good Subs, Fries and Pizza!
