Wise Guys Pizza

First I’d like to say that I love the pizza here as I said in a previous review I left 6 months ago. Here is my problem and the reason I gave 2 stars. 2 days ago on Thursday the 17^th of March 2016, I went in to pick up my carry out pizza and was told that it was given away and the day livery driver took it to another customer. Now normally as this has happened before at Wise Guys wouldn’t bother me however this was the third time this has happened in the past few months. They need better organizational skills so this doesn’t happen as I frequent there often (every week) but now I am looking for an alternative pizza place which there is no shortage of in the area. Now, this review doesn’t go against there food but does however show they are not reliable when you order for carry out so people who decide to order for carry out, beware!

Checked in to my hotel and asked the front desk clerk who delivers a good pie. She said these place was great and they didn’t disappoint. Great dough, great sauce, fresh veggies, crispy meats. Only complaint and it’s a small one is they put my ranch dressing in the box, so it was warm when I got it. Try this place out when you want good pizza

Lots of people described this place as one of the best pizza places in Columbia! I just don’t see it…
Been there a couple of times and had there delivery. The place is inside McNally’s bar which is s pretty decent dive bar in downtown Columbia. The staff is always nice and the service prompt — Always good drink specials too!
However the pizza… It is just plain, and the crust feels like it is a wafer. Had a couple of pies there during my visits. I think a simple garlic and mushroom with pepper jack cheese is the best. Keep all the rest and go to Gumby’s instead.

My favorite pizza pie in como. Get the boss, gigantic & delicious, and I always recommend getting pepper jack cheese.

Wise guys really lives up to their name. Said they’d deliver a pizza to our hotel (which is less than 4 minutes away) and left us waiting for over an hour. Really unfortunate experience, would definitely recommend South Side Pizza instead.

They’re the only pizza place I’ve seen in CoMo offering deep dish/​stuffed, so had to try it. I hoped, being much closer to Chicago, it would surpass my current favorite deep dish places (Zachary’s in Berkeley and Regents Pizzeria in La Jolla) since they’re in California. The toppings were pretty good, and I certainly enjoyed it, but it was more like a normal pizza with thicker crust. This was the first deep dish I’ve seen where the very top layer was cheese (although I have not seen, e.g., Little Caesar’s version). We also got a 20″ regular pizza, seemed like a good value (online coupon). Maybe not quite (?) as good as Shakespeare’s, but close enough that the price is a bigger factor for me. The guy there when I picked them up was nice.

Pretty good pizza. Delivery to hotel was exact time they said. Decently priced. Recommend ordering cinnamon sticks… yum!

While many idiots will say the most popular thing to get a favorable communal response, their words are useless, the truth persists. And the truth is this: wise guys pizza, for better or worse, is the best «available» pizza in Columbia, MO.
Is there better pizza in Columbia? Yes, but they don’t deliver or maybe only last a few months before closing down. Wise guys is established, has an insanely late delivery time, is quite good pizza, and will accommodate many different delivery or ordering preferences. They are relatively inexpensive and, despite their ability to do just about everything a local pizza joint can do on a very tight margin, their pizza rarely disappoints.
Their service is straight to the point and no nonsense. They’re not fucking around. Be ready when you order and be a good customer and you will be rewarded with excellent results.

We got take out. By the time we got it home it was lukewarm. The pizza itself was very average. Average crust sauce and cheese. Nothing great or terrible.

I’m literally still waiting for my pizza right now. It’s been an hour and forty minutes. Initial delivery time was estimated to be 45 minutes. Called at an hour, no idea where driver is. Hour and a half, still no idea about the driver, my order is canceled and go f”*’ myself. No pizza to review, is this a real business or a prank?

I’m from the Chicago area, and I missed the high-​quality pizza I can get there, especially deep dish. Other places in Columbia have fine thin crust, but Wise Guys fulfills my nostalgic taste buds when I need really cheesy pizza and of course Chicago-​style pizza. Whether you get the stuffed pizza or the deep dish, it’s filling and amazing. I love the crust, and their sausage is the best in town.
My girlfriend doesn’t like deep dish pizza, but this is her favorite thin crust in town. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of pizza you can get, and I’ve never had issues with super-​long wait times or messed up orders.
If you’ve only ever had normal thin crust pizza or St. Louis style pizza (what IS that, anyway??), then do yourself a favor and order the Chicago-​style from Wise Guys. You’ll need a knife and fork for it, and you’ll never want to go back!

I had a deep dish pepperoni, and it was absolutely fantastic.
Easily the best pizza in Columbia, MO. Shakespeare’s does not compare.

I ordered the large two-​topping pizza (used their online coupon) with sausage and pepperoni, and an order of the cinnamon sticks. It was excellent! They estimated 45 minutes for delivery, and it was there in just that amount of time, still warm.
I will be ordering from them again.

For the longest time this place ALWAYS got my order wrong. And seriously wrong. They would deliver a extra large pepperoni and we ordered a medium Hawaiian. Normally this would piss me off but I loved it because they always let us keep what they delivered and then would deliver what we ordered 30 minutes later. Sadly, they have been delivering what we actually ordered. No longer over abundance of pizza and living off of it for 3 meals a day for a week.
I do love the pizza and they have it delivered in good timing.
Do the Beat the Clock special.

I don’t like the cheese used on the pizza, but if you’re hungry and looking for a deal, then go there. But I recommend their CheeseBurgers & DoubleCheeseBurgers!!! Their fries are very good, but unsalted, so you might wanna dress em up a bit but they’re tasty., but DEFINITELY get some of their Onion Rings, Mmmmmm Those are Soooo Good :)

Let’s just say, I was a rebellious youth. We won’t mention what was frequently done, late at night, with my friends, that would sometimes give us munchies.
This is who we would call, every time.
Even as an adult, it’s still some of the best stinkin’ pizza you’ll ever put in your gullet. But I’m pretty sure most of the staff is still… «rebel yelling,» and I think it’s run out of the back of a bar? But it’s so good!

Great place for cheap, tasty Pizza, usually i get Take-​Out or eat in at McNallys. Get the coupon from their website for a HUGE 1-​Topping for less than $ 13, feeds a hungry 4 or more.

I think there are some big fans of this pizza for delivery. I had a slice of mushroom and onion after going out to the bars, and it wasn’t bad.
There were lots of mushrooms and onions.
It was decent pizza.

The best take out pizza in town! I would choose Wise Guys any day over Shakespeare’s, Domino’s, Papa John’s, etc. They have a large selection of toppings and the pizza has tons of flavor. And they are not skimpy on the cheese or toppings! There are coupons in the Columbia phone book for a large 2 topping for $ 8. Fast delivery as well.

Oh Wise Guys, you’re the reason I survived freshmen year!
