I’ve had two things repaired at Abell Audio: an ‘80s synth with some dead keys and an ‘80s kick drum trigger pedal with a sensitivity pot that had become separated from the logic board. In both cases, they did outstanding work, quickly, at a very fair price. I really like these guys. Highly recommended.

Always done us good, solid quick work with no greedy over-price charges — but you cant complain about paying true professionals their worth — and smart enough to handle older equipment without schematics. Friendly people. Very knowledgeable. Amps, pedals, PA gear. They will make cable connectors. All around service.

I have a 1975 Fender Twin Reverb that needed some attention: new AC power cord, possible recap, bias. I took the amp into Matt, their tube amp specialist. Within a week I had my amp back, and sounding better than ever. It needed recapped, got the new AC power cord installed, and the bias. There was a speaker not working properly, but Matt figured it out… it was a mislabeling on the speaker, which led to incorrect wiring from the factory. Matt said it took him a while to figure it out, but it saved me from having to buy a new speaker, and a lot less money than what I was quoted on the phone. When I came in to pick up the amp there was a big zip lock bag of the parts removed. Capacitors were starting to explode, and some already had. I can say I’m very pleased with the customer service from Abell Audio, and the results can heard in this classic amp. I’m definitely going to be a repeat customer. Thanks to Matt and all at Abell Audio!

Inconspicuous on King Ave, Abell Audio is a serious audio electronics service and repair operation. You walk in and there are workbenches with oscilloscopes and tools at discrete workstations, and it feels orderly and well maintained. I’ve talked to Harold and Dan Abell himself and both have been well spoken representatives of their company. Abell Audio receives amplifiers, mixers, and everything else audio from people and shops all over the country because it is a factory-authorized repair center for a wide range of well-known brands. I know that i’ve obtained quotes from them but unfortunately have not given them any real business yet. But a former band mate and friend of mine had his out of order Crate tube amp repaired there and was very pleased with the results. In his words: «When I walked into that place, it was just what I wanted to see: a bunch of geeky guys with their heads down soldering stuff». He told me how much it cost him, but I can’t remember and he didn’t seem at all bothered by the fee. I fully intend to take a couple of broken items of mine to Abell Audio once I have the dough.
