Bagenstose Allergy

Dr. Scott Bagentose keeps his skills up to date, as observed while speaking with him. He is incredibly personable and takes time with his patients. He is exactly the doctor i want for my allergist and i would trust him with my family. He was able to pinpoint exactly what was causing my allergies and how best to treat. I am saving money now by not over treating with otc meds.
I did not wait more than 5 minutes. His staff was very personable and professional.
I liked that they provided fun things for kids to do in a children’s area. It is especially nice because it helps them to feel at ease.
The office is clean. Staff practiced good hand hygiene. They also knew what they were doing.
Moreover, it was a happy friendly environment not just while you are there… but also if you call in and actually need something. The medical assistants are not going to be rude to you.

Besides the long wait, I was offended and greatly inconvenienced by their ‘gouge the insurance company and waste huge amounts of your time’ by requiring an ‘appointment’ every time you needed a simple prescription refill (you ‘see’ the receptionist). It took me 45 – 60 minutes drive, each way, to get refills– they would not write scrips with refills, nor phone them in. This is patient and insurance company abuse, and why I quit going. It has been a few years, so, hopefully, they changed their ridiculous policy– certainly worth a call to find out before you invest a lot of time.

You WILL wait for Dr. Abner — and he is definitely worth the wait.

Bagenstose is a rare breed — he insists on very personal attention to your problems. He is always informed about the latest treatments and is very patient with people like me who read on the internet and want to know when a new drug may be applicable to my condition. (A lot of doctors roll their eyes and act like «how dare you be reading and thinking on your own and question my recommended course of treatment?», but this is not the case with Bagenstose). I have struggled to get a sometimes severe asthmatic condition aggravated by sleep apnea under control and only Dr. Bagenstose who worked with me to change medications got me there. I am very appreciative of his willingness to take the time to listen and to really analyze my specific situation. He is exceptional.

The star is only for Dr. Bagenstose who was very kind and took the time necessary to walk me through the allergy testing process. He is a great listener and I felt that he really worked with me to find a unique treatment.
I booked the first morning appt intentionally so that I could be back at work. I was assured that the exam would take 3 hours at the most, but most likely less.
My testing took over 4hours and I was dressed in a gown and not feeling entirely comfortable leaving the room to ask if there was a problem. When I finally left they offered to write me a note to bring in to work.
I called today to ask about the bruises and rash left on my arm from the test that was 8 days ago and I spoke to a nurse who let me know that it was normal but that someone should have let me know this the day of my testing. I spoke again with the receptionist, Cathy, and asked her why the exam took that much longer than expected and why no one had come in to explain the situation. She interrupted me before I could finish my thought and exclaimed, «I’m so sorry I really wish I could have been in there to personally entertain you! What happens is that the doctor runs behind.» Cathy continued to patronize me and her manager didn’t offer more than an apology and the opportunity to write a letter to Dr. Bagenstose, which I have done as well.
