Stopped in this morning, when going through the neighborhood. As reported, they have Zebra Cakes; large, cream filled oatmeal cookies; chocolate dipped chocolate cakes with marshmallow interiors; basically, everything that will delight a child’s palate and ignite those glorious childhood memories. Being older, now, I chose a «simple» current scone. It was delicious! I would definitely make this a destination point for scones in my neighborhood! I am sure the other items are also glorious, but, well, adherence to a less-sugary diet dictates! Reportedly gluten-free, another reason to give this neighborhood treasure a visit!

I assume this place is back open now after taking a hiatus, and I must have forgotten about writing a review. Everything here is gluten-free, but that’s not why I was here. I actually happened to be in the area anyway, so I had to give it a shot. Now, I’m reviewing this bakery on how good it is as a bakery and not how good of a gluten-free bakery it is, and the verdict is I really liked most of what I had here. I don’t have Celiac’s, and I’m not on a GF diet, so I just wanted to see how good the product tasted. The red velvet spongie and zebra cake I had here were okay, not my favorite. I could go on without having those. The spongie was a bit dry for me, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the filling. The zebra cake was just mediocre. However, the oatmeal crème cloud and chocolate hand pie were absolutely delicious. I’d have those again in a heartbeat! I could probably just eat several of the crème clouds until I got sick, they were that good. The marshmallow crème filling was delicious, better than any name brand oatmeal crème pie you’d get in the grocery store. Everyone here is very friendly, and they’ll answer any questions you might have. This spot is pretty far away from me, so I don’t think I’d necessarily drive out of my way to get here, since I’m surrounded by bakeries near the Short North. BUT, if you are near the South side of the city(basically if you’re South of I-70) and looking for a great bakery, or if you have a gluten allergy or are trying to be gluten-free, then this is a must stop for you.

Um, what? I haven’t reviewed BMH? I’m not sure how this happened. This bakery is entirely gluten free, but it isn’t just good for gluten free… it is an amazing bakery period. The only thing not to like about this place is it is very bad for your diet. I mean, you can’t go in and buy one item. That’s a waste of a trip. No, you really have to get a box full of goodies, pretend that you are bringing it to friends and not going to eat it all yourself. We justify going by biking in from the west side… ok, that only happened twice. In my opinion, the best 5 are: 1. Moon pies 2. OCC(Oatmeal crème clouds) 3. Zebra cakes 4. Peanut butter burners 5. SnoBalls But you can’t go wrong. Get yourself to the southside and by some gluten free goodness.

Amazing baked goods and a friendly staff! Go early for the best selection. Have tried the cookies and brownies and a muffin. All fantastic. I need to give the pies a try.

Literally everything is amazing. Everything. If I could physically eat one of everything every single day I would. The spongies are my favorite. So simple but so dreamy. Having a gluten allergy has never been so awesome.

I was pretty depressed when I got diagnosed with celiac, but then I found Bake Me Happy. Their scones are absolutely delicious. Everything they make is splendid. I highly recommend this place as your favorite new bakery whether you are gluten intolerant or not!

This review has been a long time coming. Ever since Bryant’s great Unilocal event here, we have been meaning to come back but hadn’t gotten here. Then we realized that you could order BMH treats online and we thought«Bingo!» We were in the middle of wedding planning and needed to pick up some gluten-free treats for one of our guests. Then we thought«Why just for one person, everyone needs to try these awesome things!» and we started ordering all the things. We ended up ordering 24 king dongs, 24 spongies and(initially) 24 oatmeal cream clouds. Wendy suggested we consider swapping the oatmeal cream clouds for the miniature version because the normal ones are huge. Well, the«mini» ones are pretty big(think average cookie size). Long story short: We came home with 8 oatmeal cream clouds… everything else was devoured and thoroughly enjoyed. It was fabulous to be able to serve local, fresh, tasty desserts at our wedding and for all of our guests to be able to enjoy them whether they have a gluten issue or not. We will absolutely order more stuff from them… we just might not share next time.

Stopped by with Maria S. to acquire all the snack cakes. She insisted that though it was a gluten-free bakery, I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. I was skeptical, but then I tried one, and wow. The oatmeal crème pie is soft and filled with a marshmallow fluff – super rich, but incredible. I was also partial to the zebra cake and red velvet spongie(their take on Twinkies). The blondie was a tad too sweet, but let’s be real, that’s not really a complaint. They also sell iced Thunderkiss coffee, and take and bake boxes of the scones(which Maria assures me are amazing). Parking is available on street and in a private lot. If you’re ever in Merion Village, it’s a must try.

Best gluten free bakery in Columbus! It is wonderful to have celiac disease and walk into a place where you actually have multiple options and they are all amazing! The scones are great!

We went on a Unilocal tour and one of our stops was this amazing gluten free bakery. The owners were so nice. They took a ton of questions from the group and were always happy to answer every question. We tried several of their staple snack cakes, which were gluten free versions of oatmeal sandwich cookies, zebra cakes, Twinkies, and ding dongs(chocolate cakes). I am NOT a gluten free person! I love my gluten and usually bake goods suffer from removing the gluten. The staples they make are amazing. The texture was perfect to include the Twinkie. The flavor of each snack was exactly as you would expect them to be although I loved the oatmeal sandwich much better than the over processed one you buy in the store. If you get a chance when you are in Columbus this bakery is a must stop!

I don’t have a gluten allergy. I don’t have a gluten sensitivity. I actually welcome the gluten. Celiacs, give me your gluten. Despite this, I found Bake Me Happy’s cookie absolutely marvelous. The sweet treat and sweet service were a lovely start to my day. I was *supposed* to save the cookie for my daughter. But I had a handful of treats to bring home so I chose to eat her shamrock shaped, cream cheese frosted sugar cookie. She’ll never know, so don’t tell her. The cookie was an excellent combination of sweet and chewy and the light layer of cream cheese frosting was pure perfection. I really did savor every single bite. I have a few other Bake Me Happy treats I’ll surely barrel through, and probably share some with the little one. I’m a nice mom but let’s be real, the first rule of eating your kids’ treats is that we don’t talk about them. There was no shamrock cookie. I dare you to find evidence.

Coffee and donuts and gluten free to boot. They also have GF versions of some of your favorite Hostess treats. Friendly staff and tasty treats. Get there early for the best selection.

Delightful and delicious! I have no need to eat gluten free, but at Bake Me Happy it’s just an added perk for those who do require the absence of gluten in their baked goods. I went on a Saturday morning with Bryant M. Look for their great branding and bright colors as you drive by, you can’t miss it. We each got a scone and coffee to enjoy in the unheated«lobby» of the charming building in Merion Village. I had the blueberry, goat cheese, basil scone. B had the ham and cheese. Let me tell you, they are REALLY good scones. You’re definitely not sacrificing anything to be gluten free at Bake Me Happy. The Spongies are also amazing. Denser than a twinkie but a million times better in every way possible. These were a win with my whole house. The quinoa monster cookie rocked and the oatmeal cream clouds were just a hair too sweet for me, but it did stop me from eating every crumb. Letha, one of the owners, was a real delight to talk to. She’s really passionate about baking and really passionate about treating her customers really well. I filled a box of goodies up for $ 20 and it was a good haul. I am looking forward to getting some take and bake scones in the future. Gluten free or not Bake Me Happy is a shop you’ll want to stop at for impressive baked goods!

Imagine if we had our own Hostess bakery here in Columbus. Sounds pretty good, right? Now, imagine that this bakery is certified gluten-free, but full of high-quality ingredients. Welp, this place exists: it’s called Bake Me Happy. Owners Wendy and Letha are the dynamic duo who make this magic happen. Not only do they make delicious goodies, but they’re also some of the sweetest people in the city(lame pun totally intended). The bakery is in Merion Village across from Southbend Tavern(which happens to be a fun dive gay bar, btw), and the space is beautiful! When you first enter the building, you’re not inside the bakery — it’s the main lobby. This is a beautiful little spot with a few benches where you could enjoy your snacks. There isn’t a ton of seating(it’s a shared space; not the bakery’s), so most people probably get theirs to go. I’ve sat here several times with friends, though, and had a delightful visit. Once you’re inside the bakery, it’s big, bold, and bright — just like the treats. Most of the space is for the production kitchen, but they fit a ton of stuff into the small showcase up front. Some of the things you’ll find are: –Spongies(like a Twinkie) –Oatmeal Crème Clouds(like an oatmeal cream pie) –Scones –Cookies –King Dong(like a ding dong) –pies –cakes –Crimson Cup coffee to wash it all down I’ve tried many of their baked goods(including a frozen pie crust to bake my own pumpkin pie), and everything has consistently been delicious. And not like«good for gluten-free» — we’re talking outstanding no matter if you’re a wheat-eater or not. Their hours are a bit limited for now, so be sure to check before you head over. Oh, and do yourself a favor and follow them on Facebook and Instagram. You’ll thank(hate) me later.

I am a big fan of Bake Me Happy. I had originally seen them at some food truck events over the summer with their cute orange VW packed full of gluten free goodies, where I bought some cookies and really loved them. The cookies, oatmeal crème pie and the like are huge, and they have all been delicious! So when I found out they were opening up this bakery front, I knew where I had to go! The bakery is great — colorful and bright, and they sell a variety of baked goods here on Wednesdays-Saturdays. They also offer coffee. Depending on what’s on the menu on any given day, you can find a variety of scones, cookies, spongies, slices of cake and pie, and more. They also have a variety of flavors, with new ones appearing. I still need to catch the jalapeño bacon scones I’ve heard about! I have enjoyed everything I’ve tried… the scones are tender and delicious, the cupcakes are moist and delicious… basically everything is delicious! On my most recent visit, I went for the moon pie… that was great too. You can’t go wrong here!

Heard about a bakery opening 2 minutes down the road so I really wanted to check it out. Had the Bacon Jalapeño scone and coffee and really enjoyed It. Didnt know if was a gluten free going in and still wouldn’t have suspected it without doing some later research. The 2 staffers were very friendly and helpful although the place still looks like a work in progress. I definitely will be going back.
