In a slight defense of the horrible service we had a party of 25. HOWEVER we called ahead by 2 hrs so they did have a table ready. They only assigned one server to the table… not efficient when everyone was drinking and eating. Our server was slow and missing most of the night. She had a terrible attitude and frequently huffed and sighed when taking orders. We tried to stagger our orders so we wouldn’t overwhelm the kitchen… it didn’t work. They still tried to push it all out together. The fried green beans are really, really good. The rest of the food… not. This place is way expensive for the quality of food and drink, not worth the effort.

I ordered their«Shrimp and grits.» Awful. Tasted like frozen shrimp. Grits/polenta was bland, one big clump. Big is the wrong word. Slightly more than a tablespoon. They should pay me the $ 10.99 to eat it. I also ordered tempura green beans. Very greasy and the tempura did not cling to beans well at all. However, the sweet chili sauce they were covered with was fantastic in flavor. I ordered for delivery.

I liked the atmosphere. Open areas with a big bar that extends outdoors. They have a stage that featured a pretty good Aerosmith cover band on the night I was there. I didn’t show up for live music and arrived well before it started, but apparently they started charging a cover of $ 5 shortly before the band took stage. If I walked up and there was a cover, I would have turned around. The Bartender who served me and most of the friends I met up with was attentive and helpful. The food was a little of a miss for me this time, but I definitely want to try a burger next time. Here’s what I sampled: Fried green beans — The bean itself, even without the light tempura batter, was crisp from not overcooking them. They could’ve used a little more of the sweet & sour sauce that they drizzled over the top, or maybe a dipping sauce to accompany them as they are a little bland without it. Poutine fries — The cheese had melted along the bowl’s edge and stuck to it in about 2 – 3 large globs. Since it quickly cooled off, I had to cut it off in chunks. The gravy/demi glacé was better than the couple other times I’ve eaten poutine. It tasted house made rather than from a jar. Confitted duck legs — They were tender as expected and had a taste similar to a small turkey leg. They are listed with the bar wings, so I assumed you get the same flavor options as the wings. I asked for the 5-spice seasoning expecting an Asian touch, but they came out covered in a buffalo style hot sauce that overpowered everything else.
