Bottom Line: I like the product and the customer service I received from Laura was above and beyond! I will def be back. I’ve used BM before but I am not much of a make-up person. I recently got a job where I am required to wear a minimum amount of make-up. I went in and Laura helped me. She was awesome!!! I told her I was only being the bare essentials but she still took her time to show me the whole regimen and sure enough I wound up buying additional items. I got the loose powder form and I think next time I am going to try the compact/pressed powder form — but that is just preference and it’s good to know they have those options. I also bought lipstain and I am very happy with that — it lasts longer than most lipstick and is not drying like the all day lipsticks that you can buy. As a matter of fact it is more like a tinted lip balm it has so much moisturizer in it. The eyeliner pencils are great too. I have found that stays all day as well. Will def e back I am really happy with the customer service I received from Laura!

I’m compelled to review Bare Minerals because I’m finding a majority of the reviews kind of batty(brainwashing much?) — just as batty as I find the women who work in the stores. Which is a shame, because these are the only cosmetic products I use on my face(I have very breakout-prone skin), and I am now considering searching for a new product — only because I find the women who work in the Bare Minerals stores to be so freakin’ vacant(oh so pretty vacant! plus five cool points to whomeever can name that song…). Let me just say that I give the product five stars, absolutely. My little sister turned me on to Bare Minerals about three years ago, and since then, I’ve used nothing but. Before that, I was really very distressed because the tea tree makeup I used to use from the Body Shop had been discontinued. Now, I love the new matte finish powder from Bare Minerals for oily skin, but reviews like the ones I am reading here(you all are buying this because you’ve been brainwashed by infomercials? yikes!) combined with experiencing the creepy saleswomen in the stores… is making me change my mind about my consumption of the product altogether. Every time I go into the store at Polaris, I have to grin and bear it. I already dislike malls, but I have to just push past the complete vacuousness of the conversation I inevitably have with the saleswoman. They never make real eye contact nor really listen to me with any scrap of sincerity. These women(and no, I have never seen a man working in this store, so it IS all women) make the Victoria’s Secret saleswomen look like Rhodes Scholars. I feel like it’s all push to buy products, and no real help in terms of the questions you’re actually asking for help with. For example, I asked about oily skin options but discovered the matte formula by myself anyway; and even though I’ve asked for help in choosing a color of the Buxom lip gloss, I got no opinion from the indecisive saleswoman so I just purchased the clear option and bought Urban Decay lipgloss elsewhere. I am very likely going to go back to Macy’s at Easton and ask the very helpful, informed, and well-spoken saleswoman(Jazmine — ask for her) what similar products I can use on my sensitive skin and ditch BM altogether. It’s a shame, because I really do love Bare Minerals, but this is a case where poor(actually, ridiculous — I’m incredulous) customer service is going to cost this business a loyal user. Pinche sad.

I shop mostly near downtown for everything since I try to limit my home range. That said there are some things that require a hike to acquire. like my fix of mineral make up. I wasn’t aware that there was a bare escentuals store at Polaris, since I had purchased the product from Sephora in the past. Recently I discovered the store and it was a far superior experience. For starters, I was offered a complimentary make over the minute I stepped in the store. Of course, i obliged and felt fabulous. I’ve been using the foundation for years but it was fun to experiment with the shadows alongside a pro. I also appreciated that I was able to find exactly what i came in for and not hassled to buy other items that I did not want or need. When I went to pay for my mineral foundation they honored my shop card from the store I used to frequent on the UES in Manhattan so that I could get $ 10 off. Nice. Just as cool, my bag was stuffed with 2 samples and a lipstick. If you use this product buy from the source.

I, unfortunately, could take bareMinerals or leave it. Perhaps the staff seemed clueless to me as I went when they first opened, but damn if I didn’t know more about their products than they did(thank you, insomnia, which caused me to watch those infomercials 10x over…). Granted, I bought the products(DAMNYOUINFOMERCIALS) but I really haven’t noticed a different in my skin. Yes, I will buy more, but that’s just because even when I decide I don’t need any more, the f’ing infomercials come on AGAIN. Le sigh.

I jumped on the mineral makeup train about 4 months ago after I had the infomercial drilled into my head during a sleepless night. I NEVER, repeat, NEVER have been an infomercial victim but for some reason on this night I was. I ordered the starter kit for an incredibly cheap intro price and have since replenished all my products. As far as my skin type is concerned, I never really had an excess of breakouts but I kept hearing how the mineral makeup doesn’t clog your pores and allows your skin to breathe which was enticing to me. I have freckles which, come hell or high water, I will cover with my makeup and have always been on the hunt for something that works. I didn’t think that such a small amount of makeup(they say that you only need a teeny tiny bit) would actually work but OHMYGOODNESS! I’m hooked. Not to mention, I have had ONE blemish the entire 4 months I’ve been using this stuff. This stuff is incredible and while I haven’t completely merged the whole line into my makeup routine, I intend to. As far as the sales people at the location in Polaris Towne Center, they are really educated about the products and, when you can track them down, are helpful. It is always busy in there so I would recommend not going during mid-afternoon. It is fun to play around with all the colors as they have everything set out and will help you put together the look you are most comfortable with and that flatters your skin. All in all, I am a total fan and unless a see another convincing infomercial, I am on my way to being another satisfied customer of the entire bareMinerals product line.
