As others have noted, it’s a diner where most of the stuff they’re cooking comes out of a bag. No different than Jack & Benny’s, Nancy’s Home Cookin’, or others of the like; however, the way they do it tastes slightly better than the others. And the atmosphere(e.g., large bar with big stools) is slightly more pleasant. I enjoyed my garbage omelet. I wish my homefries were more crisp, especially since I ordered them well done but they arrived kind of undercooked. The pancakes were spongy, strong resemblance to pancake-from-a-box. It’s not blow your mind away food, but still mildly enjoyable.

Was great! Cinnamon bun was gooey and yummy, the home fries were excellent and the pancakes were fluffy with the right amount of spring. Would recommend to a friend.

Beechwold Diner really nails the classic American Diner experience. Service is extremely fast, and the food preparation is very consistent. The diner is busiest at breakfast on the weekends. If you arrive much after 9:30AM on a Saturday or Sunday, expect a wait, but turnover is quick, so don’t be intimidated by a few people in line. If you’re willing to sit at the counter you can often get in more quickly than if you’re waiting for a booth. They do all the basic American breakfasts: eggs, omelettes, hash, pancakes, etc. The one stand-out dish for me is the Mediterranean omelette. It has tomatoes, spinach and feta cheese, and is great with a side of bacon or sausage. The portions are big enough to fill you up without being over-stuffed and the prices are very competitive for breakfast. They also have a great selection of hot sauces, including Tobasco, Franks, Sriracha and Tapatio. Beechwold’s simple, efficient menu means fast service with minimal errors. Two full breakfasts generally arrive within 6 – 7 minutes of ordering and typically you’ll be eating within 10 minutes of sitting down. I eat here often and would recommend it any day of the week.

Everything you hope for from your local greasy spoon! I’m a regular here. Solid diner food and great staff. Typically busy at lunch so be prepared.

Blech. Unpleasant servers, sometimes(often) incompetent. I’ve never once gotten hot food here, but last time my eggs were actually cold, not even Luke warm, the usual standard here. Would’ve complained, but waitress was busy ignoring me except to drop off the check. No mistake ever results in a comp anything. Which makes sense since mistakes are basically constant. Look: if you don’t like running a restaurant, sell the thing to someone who does and do something else with your life. Never again. I’ll eat at bob Evans first.

The portions are big and the food is great! Just what you would expect of a true diner! Came on a Sunday morning and the place was packed but only waited about 10 minutes to get in… sat at the bar and service was great! Coffee always full and never wanted to for anything…

One of the first places I ate at when I was checking out Columbus(before my move here). Unilocal did not steer me wrong: Beechwold Diner is good old delicious diner comfort food, no frills.( Unilocal hasn’t been doing as well with other places though, but I’m still faithful.) Servers are hardworking women, all moving around each other in a coordinated dance with hands full of delicious plates of food. We always eat at the bar so there’s usually minimal wait for us. If you’re there during the weekend brunch and you’re looking for a booth? You’ll have a bit of a wait, but not bad at all. Typical selection of diner food — my favorites so far is the steak and eggs and the greek omelette. Prices are great too.

Classic diner at its best. Seat yourself at the counter or grab a booth and stay awhile. Very friendly staff and quick service for a week day mid-morning. Simple and good quality food. Today I ordered the #5 which included 2 eggs, choice of meat, home fries and toast. My husband got the #4 which included what my breakfast had plus 2 french toasts. I am not a french toast or pancake fan but this french toast was sooo good. Crispy, sweet and savory. The only drawbacks are the lack of parking and the coffee was not good quality or I just had a cup of an old pot of coffee. Was worth coming too and I will be back.

Friends and I had breakfast here this morning after walking for Breast Cancer Awareness downtown. How the hell have I lived in Clintonville for 3 years and never realized this place existed?! It’s just like the diners I grew up with(except without the scrapple!) Such a cute place with a community feel. Counter seating lines one wall, while booths line the opposite. You literally stand in line until a spot large enough for your party opens up. We waited about 15 minutes; not bad. I enjoyed a typical greasy spoon fare of 2 eggs over easy, rye, corned beef hash & hash browns. Our waitress was efficient and sociable. No complaints here.

Sunday at 1130AM. The overview… If you want someone to cook and clean up, come on in. I always try to order from the specials, …because they’re supposed to be special. Everything here is re-purposed. The cinnamon rolls other reviewers rave about? The server loaded a desert plate of them from a Cinnabon box. The homemade hash, I read is a must have? Came from a GFS can. We had a short stack of butterscotch pancakes. A novel taste. I wonder if GFS also carries that batter mix. Our friendly server mentioned the beef was not corned and cooked here, but GFS. «Is it thinly sliced for sandwiches, or chunked with potatoes?» Even another server chimed in «chunky». You know the canned dog food looking item I was served. She recommended the french toast, but we had already ordered the pancakes. All the breads were coming out of plastic bags anyway, not fresh baked. Could the dredge make it over the top special. I will say that I saw a woman come out of the back with foil crimped around the edges of 2 pies crust. That’s what it looks like when mom pulls them out of the oven. Maybe those are homemade. The place is clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. The bathroom is only one, for all to share. The interior ‘wait for a table area’ stands 4. Might be cold waiting outside in the winter months. This review is only for breakfast. Although I did not see anything special to make me think lunch is the high point. Tommy’s Diner gives me the«Special» that this place lacks. Eat here if you don’t want to cook for yourself.

Got a cigarette butt mixed in with my hash browns, nobody seemed to give a damn. Employees present at the time just kinda shrugged; owner never called me back. So I guess if you want bad service, bad food, and to literally eat trash, swing on by.

Great for that greasy spoon breakfast you’re craving after a night of drinking. Very good freshly prepared meal that will come to your table quicker than you can order it. Great prices and that cool old school diner feel. Not in the greatest of areas, but that’s probably how they can keep their prices so low. I have the blueberry pancakes and they were fantastic, nice fluffy pancake with fresh blueberry’s. Only complaint was no real variety of syrups to choose from. I would eat here again if I was in the area as it was very good but not really go out of my way to get it because it didn’t knock my socks off and say«wow I need to come back»

Have been going here for breakfast a few times now and it’s always delicious. The pancakes or hotcakes, as they call them here, are the bomb diggity. Priced right and the service is great. You may have to deal with people jealously glaring at you as they wait at the door for a booth because you circumvented those fatties for the awesome counter seating.

This has become the default breakfast go-to place on weekends for the past two months. I’ve gone once on a Saturday and was surprised nearly all of the kitchen staff were female as most diners seem to be male-dominated when it comes to the kitchen staff. Every Sunday I’ve gone in the kitchen staff has been male. It’s clean. I have yet to find dust caked onto a greasy surface like some other local diners. There are hooks underneath the counters for purses and bags. There are a dozen or so booths. The tables aren’t always evenly distributed but I think the owner knows some people are a little larger than others. :) There is background music but the volume of noise(people are having conversations while eating or waiting for their food) is often louder than it. The food is solid. Order your eyes over-easy or scrambled — it doesn’t matter; they will get it right. One day I’ll order something from the lunch portion of the menu.

Great little diner on Indianola. Seating is line-style, no putting your name in or anything, so just know that before you go(we were a bit confused). Servers were nice and quick, and the food was fantastic. The cinnamon roll is the real deal. I had a classic diner breakfast(two eggs, toast, bacon, and home fries), and everything was great! They do tend to turn tables pretty quickly(but at a diner on a Saturday morning, what do you expect?). Also the pies looked AMAZING but we were way too full.

I have been going to the Beechwold Diner since it opened. It was one of those rare family owned restaurants that tasted amazing, and always had the best prices. I am so excited to stimulate the local economy, and enjoy a good meal! Although the place is small, and you might have to wait for a table, it is well worth it. The food comes quickly once you are seated and the prices are great. A lot of people that I take here have been to Scramblers or First Watch, but after eating here they love it! My favorite is the home made cherry pie and ice cream! So, if you’re looking for a new breakfast spot Beechwold Diner is the place to go, and feel like you’ve stepped back into the sixties with the memorabilia and the American Dream alive and well.

It’s a cleaner and more modern interpretation of the an American diner. This is purely a breakfast review: Omelets are the way to go! The first time I came here I waited for a booth because it was the weekend and I had a bigger group. I think I ordered a 3 egg breakfast with a side or corned beef hash. I was extremely hungover so that probably was why my experience was lackluster. It took me a couple months to return, but I’m glad I did! The garbage omelet is on point! I like my hash browns well done so I know to specify next time but overall they nail the diner experience. Great food, big portions, great staff, reasonable prices. I will be coming back often.

Everything is diner like. That’s good. The service is outstanding. That’s good. The coffee is really awful. It’s not hard to up their game and still keep the price. Overall, great breakfast in a nicely crowded atmosphere.

I happen to be in the Morse Rd. area, in between appts., thus decided to try this joint out. The place was about ¼ full when I got in. The waitress was polite, told me the specials, didn’t rush me — great gal. After a few minutes of perusing the menu, I decided on the Greek Omlete(and added mushrooms. I didn’t have to wait long for the dish. It comes with their rendition of fresh hash browns. They were also quite tasty.
