Comfort food breakfast at its best. Try the Barnyard Buster. You will not be disappointed.

Service was good and I enjoyed the food and atmosphere to eat. It’s quiet and you can enjoy your food.

Saturday noon on a beautiful spring day in March. It was packed. We came for breakfast. Fifteen minute wait allowed us to buy and eat some GS cookies who had set up near the front door. Service was efficient and friendly, and clean bathrooms are always welcome. Food was served quickly, correct, and hot. My guess this is a well run location.

You know what? Tee Jaye’s is pretty darn good breakfast food at a fair price. I’d not been here in ages, because I’d mistakenly assumed they’d gone the way of Bob Evans(ew) or Cracker Barrel(shudder) — frozen and reheated everything. Not so. We stopped in on a Sunday morning for breakfast with family and the place was jumpin’. Let’s be real about the décor — it’s the same as you remember any country kitchen restaurant from your childhood. It might BE the same wallpaper, but it’s clean. Our server was busy but friendly, and everything was timed well. The menu is what you’d expect out of this genre — eggs, pancakes(with enough artificial vanilla flavor to put a bean plantation out of business), stuffed French toast, sandwiches etc. We all did breakfasts, and Tee Jaye’s may be one of the only places what cooks everything on the line — all the eggs were cooked just right, pancakes the right texture and doneness. Decent coffee. The other nice thing is the price — we thought it was super-reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. I don’t know that we’d make this a regular stop(let’s face it, we’re spoiled in this town when it comes to fancy/second breakfast options), but it’s a solid choice for traditional American food.

So, didn’t do any online research before I went & hit this place. Plus it was 11:30 but wanted breakfast. So that’s my bad. According to the local in this area. Breakfast is served all day at most every dinner. So breakfast we ordered. Coffee, so so. Creamer they had on the table in a little steel creamer container was awful. Fake something or other. Basically ruined the coffee. Next, I ordered eggs, country ham & extra crispy hash browns. Plusses 2 pancakes. Eggs were fine, pancakes too. But the ham was more like bacon then ham. Super thin & very oily salty. Now the hash browns. Un edible. Very small amount of undercooked, greasy and flat. By flat I mean the order of hash browns on my plate were 1/3″” high. Possibly do to all the grease and sitting under heat lamps for a extended period of time. This brings up my last complaint. Cold. Yes both my friends & my food was at best room temp. To be fair our servers were great but they didn’t prepare our food nor did they choose the coffee creamer on our table. Sad. Very sad breakfast. And yes, we told them.

Hands down the best home cooked food in Columbus. Great selection of home cooked food. Staff are always very friendly and excellent value.

There are only two times of day that you can enjoy Tee Jaye’s: breakfast or extremely drunk after a night out. Tee Jaye’s doesn’t deny what it is. It’s a place with cheap food, a country(kind of) atmosphere with servers that have country(kind of) accents. In fact, at certain points, you wonder if you’ve entered a really bad murder mystery dinner theater. The food is fine for what you’re spending. Again, I’d stick to the breakfast options because you can’t really screw up breakfast and it’s some of the cheapest prices in town. Their dinner options on the menu look like they’d be disappointing so I wouldn’t even deal with them. Every year they advertise coming in on Valentine’s Day, but that sounds like an effective way to truly end your relationship. I’ve always found the servers here to be kind. The décor is dated and perhaps not structurally updated as I have been there where there has been water dripping from the ceiling. Again, you get what you paid for, and it’s not horrible. The staff still cares even if they are unnecessarily saying«y’all.» I can’t emphasize more that you should only go between the hours of 2 am — 11 am, and 2 am — 5 am, you should be horribly intoxicated. I went once at 10 pm after going to a concert, and it might have been the most depressing thing ever. Imagine the components that make a buffet depressing, but then imagine that the buffet closed, so those people have to go somewhere, and they say, «Hey! Tee Jaye’s is open! I’ll come here!» and then you get to sit there and wonder why people bring their kids to eat mountains of cheap food at such a late hour in such a barren restaurant, and you just feel kind of sad about society as a whole. Anyway, I think you catch my drift. Tee Jaye’s is a country place, but as long as you’re aware that you’ll be questioning if it is in fact country or a place, then you’ll have a fine experience.

It’s a hoppin place all day Sunday and I guess you get what you pay for. Pretty average breakfast, although the blueberry pancakes were good. I just didn’t like that they piled all the food on top of one another. Set your expectations low and you should be ok if you’re need for a quick breakfast fix.

One of my favorite places for good food at a good value. Customer for over 30 years. Of course, the barnyard buster is my favorite. Sausage gravy is amazingly good.

Normally our food and service at Tee Jaye’s off Morse Rd. has been excellent. Tee Jaye’s has offered a warm, friendly atmosphere with wonderful attentive service accompanied with good«Country Cooking.» But, tonight things were very different. After receiving our food, our waitress left on break,(unknown to us) and had not asked other waitstaff to take care of her tables while she was gone. After our waitress was gone and had not asked us how our food was or offered to refill our sodas when they were empty or even bring my coffee that I’d ordered with the meal, I tried to get the attention of another waitperson. After several minutes had gone by, I jokingly asked another waitress if ours had gone on break and was amazed to hear the response that, she had. I also observed that people trying to check out at the register were backing up and were not being attended to and the line was getting longer by the minute. I was really getting upset that we and others who had come in for a warm, cordial, attentive atmosphere, that we had come to expect at Tee Jaye’s, that while we ate our dinners, were so neglected. I’d only written rave reviews up to this point, but the service tonight really knocked Tee Jaye’s down in my view. Still, not having seen our waitress, I grabbed the attention of one of the managers working tonight and told him that we’ve always gotten good food and service each time we’ve been in, but we were sadly disappointed tonight and I explained why. He said he would talk to her to straighten things out so she knew how to better take care of her customers. Finally our waitress came back out on the floor and refilled our drinks and brought me my coffee.(There was no saucer for the coffee and with my tremors, I tend to spill hot coffee.) She seemed very abrupt in her treatment with us — not speaking at all. Then, a few minutes later she came to the table and informed us that the manager offered to give us dessert(for free) if we wanted. We declined the offer and told her thanks anyway, we just wanted the check now. The manager came back to talk to my wife while I had left for the RR. He apologized again. When I got back, my wife told me what happened. I didn’t want a piece of cake or any such dessert that he offered as compensation or even an apology from him. I felt that our waitress should have been the one to apologize. That would have been nice, but I didn’t really expect that to happen and it didn’t. Now, the food: We started with fried mushrooms which were very hot and juicy.(See picture) But, instead of my usual Chicken Fried Steak, I decided to have a veal cutlet with an ample serving of brown gravy, Mac’n cheese and onion rings and biscuits. I thought the veal was nicely crisped with a tender, moist cutlet inside. The Mac’n cheese tended to be a little gummy, but that may have been the type of cheese used. The rings were nicely breaded and fried to a perfect eating temperature. On the other hand, my wife went way out of her normal comfort zone and ordered the Granny Burger which was too well-done for her taste, despite telling the waitress that she wanted it well, and, jokingly, that she didn’t want it «moo-ing»(as I like my beef). It was tough, dry, and chewy.(too well-done). (See picture). After the fact, she even wondered whether it was 100% beef and not a mixture of soy or some other additive because it didn’t taste like beef. I told my wife that she should have asked to send it back, but, by this time she just wanted to leave, and leave the half of burned burger on the plate. Overall, tonight was not a good experience unlike previous visits, the food

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast this morning and wished we hadn’t. The coffee was weak and watered down, the meals were served luke warm. At least we didn’t pay Bob Evans prices for the fare we were served. Wait staff was pleasant and attentive though, but that might have been because we were one table of eight that were filled. We definitely won’t be giving them our patronage again.

Tee Jaye’s Country Place is everything you expect it to be. When you walk in, there’s country décor all around and you are greeted with a ‘Howdy’. I don’t know how, but most of the waitresses have a southern-esque accent. The food — well I really like the food. I always get the Chicken Fried Chicken, and it is delicious every single time. It’s a nice big chicken breast fried, with country gravy over it, served with 2 eggs, potatoes, and toast. I always get my eggs scrambled and hash browns, then let my husband eat my toast(I’m not a toast person). I enjoy it every single time that we go. Since it is 24 hours, it’s a good place to go anytime, though it’s great for those late night breakfast cravings. Also, the prices are super affordable — last time I was there my friend got the two egg breakfast(2 eggs your way and potatoes) for $ 4.50. The Chicken Fried Chicken is somewhere in the $ 8 range. Great place — I’m a fan(hence 4 stars) and everyone I’ve taken there has always enjoyed it. One thing I wouldn’t do is order from the non-breakfast menu — I’ve never had it, but for a place known for breakfast food, I would stick to that.

Always a good time at 2 in the morning. The staff is friendly, food comes out quick, and the people watching is hilarious. Some come on in and recover from your hard night out. I had the giant cornmeal pancakes, took half home for today. They were delicious and came with loads of butter. Made the country girl in me happy. I’ll definantly come back here.

i love this place we had the hen house special which is kinda like a barnyard buster but with sausage links and bacon and your choice of hash potatoes or home fries potatoes. Our waitress introduced this great meal to us and i think ill be having it again the next time i go!

I love southern comfort food, and I was really hoping this place could satisfy my cravings. I got the chicken fried chicken with two sides. It was yummy; the fried chicken was a perfect blend with the sausage gravy on top. The corn and mashed potato were both delicious as well. However, the portion was kind of small for the price I paid($ 9 for something that wasn’t completely filling). I’d go back again though, to try other comforting menu items: D

I’m confused about how I haven’t written a Tee Jaye’s review yet because I’ve been there a few different times, but I guess I just forgot. Tee Jaye’s is pretty straightforward as far as breakfast goes. There’s nothing super fancy going on here, but the food is tasty and quite affordable. Plus, the employees are always incredibly pleasant. I will say that it can get backed up in there sometimes around mid-morning/brunch time on the weekends, but people tend to move in and out fairly quickly in my experience.

I just don’t seem to be having much luck with breakfast recently. After our mediocre foray to the Golden Nugget Pancake House, I had hoped to really find a great hash house after a long night of delicious beverages with Pam, Jeff, and Jules. Unfortunately, Tee Jay’s Country Place didn’t quite fit the bill. Now, when we did hit up Tee Jay’s, it was admittedly a Sunday, but the restaurant was only about half-full at 1pm, so the ‘church crowd’ wasn’t really a factor. Nevertheless, it took us nearly 15 minutes to get seated and service was hit or miss throughout the meal. The waitress brought me the wrong juice with our drinks, and I didn’t receive my apple juice until after our meals were brought. Our food was… passable. My eggs were flavorful, but my home fries were underseasoned and lacking any sort of crunch, being barely fried. The bacon was done well, but the sausage was very obviously from a package. I was impressed with my biscuits, which came with a cup of creamy sausage gravy, but the gravy was all cream, no sausage. Seriously: I found maybe one piece of ground sausage through the whole serving of gravy. That’s a bit pathetic. I get that Tee Jay’s is ‘old people food’ with the occasional hung-over college students, but there have got to be better options in the Clintonville area. Family-owned, traditional restaurants really have to work to outdo the Cracker Barrels and Bob Evans out there. Tee Jay’s just doesn’t…

I’ve had good and bad experiences here. The first time, I was really hungry… and I ordered grits, and chicken fried chicken as a breakfast and it was amazing. The chick was 10⁄10 with the gravy on it. The second time I went, I had cabbage rolls with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was completely and utterly terrible. The mashed potatoes were runny. and the cabbage rolls, which I usually like, were cold. and just overall not good. But then… I went back again and ordered the first thing I ordered and it was 10⁄10 super delicious again. Stick to breakfast, I guess?

This Five Star’er deserves one helluva footnote. I’ve been dining here throughout mine entire life. So, to say I am currently utilizing some eyeglasses of a certain flower coloured variety should be noted. I am fully aware this place is not deserving of a five star rating. And I simply don’t care. I’ve only been here in two speeds, inebriated in the PM and with family in the AM. Seating is in two areas, both booths along the outerparts with tabling in the middle, with a minimal amount of pseudo-bar seating in front of the kitchen. Service sways from okay to not, with that rare pseudo-exceptional experience in between. Coffee isn’t terrible, though I’ll be dammed if I’ll pay for that with my Keurig at home. In the many decades I’ve eaten here, I firmly believe I’ve ordered but one thing. The one. The only. The Barnyard Buster. It is two eggs, served any way you want ‘em(mine are always over easy), with your choice of home fries or hash browns(gimme my hash!) and biscuits, all covered with sausage gravy. I’ve often said it looks like they just scraped leftovers from a multitude of plates onto one. So, not exactly a ringing endorsement for presentation. But it’s delicious, and for under $ 6 good GOETHE is it filling. Weekend evenings are oft times filled with drunken college kids(yours truly in a past life!), and mornings with post Church goers, but virtually all days the people watching is a thing to behold. Go there with an open mind, an empty tummy, and even a mostly empty wallet and you shan’t be disappointed.

This place is awesome! They are known for the famous«Barnyard Buster». I had one this morning. Tons of food and only $ 5.50. In the miss mood for healthy? They have that too. Egg whites and turkey bacon. Without a doubt, this is the best breakfast in the city.
