Came in for Friday night dinner. The service was very friendly and attentive. Artichoke 310, an artichoke mixture with crostini was a nice starter. Caesar and spinach salads were flavorful with great dressings. My pork loin was too well done but well flavored with a coffee and spice blackening rub. The star of the dish was the sweet potato, turnips and greens — marvelous! Anyone who takes this much care with vegetables loves food and people. My wife ordered the cod special which was complemented by a buerre blanc sauce and a warm potato salad which was similar to hash browns — very tasty. All The food had distinctive fresh and local flavor themes. Wine list was short with good wines at reasonable prices which were clearly chosen to match the flavors of the food. A good experience.

Excellent service and excellent food! The staff was very friendly and fun. We started our meal with complimentary bread and butter(delicious), and the side salads that came with our meal were made and delivered quickly. My husband had the fried chicken dish, which was fall-off-the-bone juicy and the breading was crispy and flavorful. I ordered the spaghetti vegetables, which was simply seasoned, spiralized veggies(carrots, squash, zuchinni), tossed in olive oil and red sauce. Sounds like such a simple meal but they managed to pack a ton of delicious flavor into those veggies and sauce. We were too full for dessert, but they did have excellent dessert options if you still have room. The only downside was that it’s a bit pricy, but definitely worth the cost for the quality and amount of food. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Swanky and slow, but the parm fries are great! Overpriced for what you get. There are better spots for lunch, but check this place out for dinner if you have time to wait a while.

This a regular favorite for my lady and I. We do request Phil as our server and will even sit in the bar if that is where he is working. He gives great service every time and has actually taken the time to learn what we like and have had in the past. The food is always awesome, but the menu changes with the seasons. We are fans of the fall and winter selections more so than the summer. don’t get me wrong, all the food we have had is great! The flowerless chocolate cake is our favorite!!!

We had a reservation as we were in town for a conference. I ordered the hummus plate as appetizer and it was very good. My husband had the shrimp and grits which I tasted and the shrimp could have used a sauce drizzle. We each had a house salad and house dressing which was quite tasty. I ordered the seared Tuna rare with edemame which was very delectable, but I believe the star plate was my husband’s ribeye which he ordered medium and was very flavorful. It came with roasted brussel sprouts and bacon, fingerling potatoes, with some awesome sherried mushrooms. We enjoyed our meal immensely and will definitely be back when in town.

Stopped in while on a BizTrip. My co-worker said it was one of the nicer places. I can’t complain about anything. Our party got decent service, all the food was good, and nobody complained. Theatmosphere was quiet enough to have a conversation, and I didn’t even notice the time go by., For food, I had the steak of the day and it was cooked perfectly over a nice mashed potatoes. The apps we shared(brie, hummus) were excellent as well.

New chef and menu. Gave it a try and was disappointed. Pork special was overcooked and risotto was undercooked. Service, as usual was friendly and great. If another high end establishment opens they will be in trouble unless the kitchen picks it up a notch!

«my name is Lazy, if you need anything.» That is what we heard at a nearby table as we were seated on the patio the evening of October 11. Little did we know that ‘Lazy’ was to be an omen for our evening at the Bistro 310. We were there a few months ago and enjoyed our meal and our server, so when my husband wanted to take us out to dinner, I picked this restaurant because we had a lovely dining experience in June. That was then, is is October now and something has changed! Turned out we were in ‘Lazy’s’ section, so she was our server. My husband ordered a draft beer while we were deciding what to have for dinner… it took a while. We do allow extra time for things to arrive whenever we sit at an outdoor table, but this was beyond that time frame. Once we gave our order and I ordered a draft beer also we were calmed. Our bread basket came and we nibbled on that. When our salads came, my husband asked for more butter for our bread. «Sure,» we were told. But no butter ever came, even after she asked if everything was alright, «except for the butter,» she said. She still never brought the butter! We received our entrees… the scallops for him and the paella for her. Both dishes were terribly prepared. The scallops were burnt on both sides. not golden, not charred, not carmelized, but BURNT! The polenta under those burned scallops was gray in color and not at all very tasty. My paella was topped with some very well cooked shrimp, but the mussels were over done and nearly tasteless. The meal did not improve when I tasted the risotto they use for the rice on the paella. It was CRUNCHY!!! When I say crunchy. I mean as in raw, not in the yummy crispy treats the come with a forkful of well cooked paella. When I sent it back to the kitchen, Lazy came back with a new plate and told me the chef had said that is how it was supposed to be. al dente! There is a huge difference between al dente and crunchy rice. Risotto is supposed to be smooth and creamy and have some texture on the tongue… but crunchy is nothing more than raw rice. We were not impressed this time around. And, I would like to mention for the chef… you do not know who is at your tables or what it is they know about food. I could have prepared both of those dishes in my own kitchen to perfection… I have the tools and the knowledge as a chef, so when I go out and am told by the server that the kitchen said that is how it is supposed to be. I am insulted! No one offered my anything else. only the remake that was as bad as the first dish. For the server, if you are asked for something as simple as butter and you don’t/forget to bring it. you really shouldn’t make jokes about it. And the accent… unsettling, very unsettling… Bistro 310 is now off our list, because that is how it is supposed to be!

2 stars for now. The first time I went here was for dessert only and had great service and the orange crunch cake was excellent. The second time, I waited outside for lunch for 15 minutes with no service besides the hostess seating me and getting a glass of water. A well-dressed woman even came out a few minutes after I was seated to fluff the bench cushions, so I know that people knew I was there. When I went in to return the menu, there was a server standing by the hostess stand and completely unfazed by my irritation and returning a menu unserviced. Pathetic. Unsure if I will ever return.

Go to taste the food, but don’t expect a flawless service. The ambiance is pretty good. Giving it 2 stars for my overall experience there. Had lunch here with a bunch of friends. Most of our dishes were tasty and we liked the food. But the crispy salmon which my friends ordered was marginal at best. The service was very marginal. This place had a seemingly upscale ambiance but the service was no where close to what we expected. Our waitress forgot a dish and replied with a «Oh, yeah — you did order that» when we tried to remind her after a while; brought another dish late giving us 10 min to eat(we were short of time, but we did mention it to them when we ordered!). In short, service is definitely not one of the strong points!

I don’t get why Columbites love this place… this is average food at best that is trying to me masked as gourmet. I have taken customers here many times and have decided I will never go back… we now drive to Indy for dinners. The food here comes out warm at BEST and I have never had a hot meal. The service is very very slow and that is a huge turnoff. Used to take clients here for lunch and we finally had to stop because they are so so slow. One time our lunch took us 1 hour and 45 minutes for 6 people in a 25% full place. It was so slow 2 of people had to put their food in a box when it came out and head back to work. This place should realize that a lunch crowd needs to be in and out so make sure you menu and staff are prepared for that… this is not a dinner time people!!! O and also… skip their«brunch» on Sundays. A true rip off and is nothing better than the breakfast buffet at Golden Coral… true story.

Staff — Super friendly and awesome Sushi — Only time in my life I have wanted to spit a roll out of my mouth. Steak — not bad Gnocchi — Baby food mush Brussel Sprouts — The highlight of the dish It would be 1 star if it wasn’t for the great staff. Columbus… you need to find a chef. That’s 2 white table cloth restaurants that are just awful. Maybe«high end» dining just isn’t your thing?

We came here Aug. 25 after a great day visiting Columbus, Indiana, including the Art Fest. We were seated at a table in the light-filled bar area all set to have a great meal. Everything went down hill from here. The couple seated at the table next to us was in the process of sending their entrée — seared tuna — back to the kitchen for being cold. Obviously, this was an unpleasant experience to witness, but it was about to repeat itself. I asked for a Campari and soda. The bartender, within earshot, told our waitress that he could mix something comparable. Luckily I heard this remark. I asked the bartender what he intended to do, given that Campari is Campari. He was going to give me a cocktail, made with Aperole, an apéritif which is sweeter and lower alcohol content, and add bitters. It was obvious that he was willing to substitute the drink without asking me. I ordered a glass of wine. (SEE review by Gregg S. re bartender not bothering to look up how to mix a French 75) My husband ordered Grilled Artichoke with artichoke dip and toast points. This dish was completely misrepresented as the grilled artichoke(barely a quarter) was buried under the dip and when unearthed was practically raw. It was impossible to eat the artichoke’s heart. When we asked the waitress if this was the correct presentation she remarked that she thought the artichoke was for decoration only, which I don’t believe was the intent of the item listed on the menu. This $ 9.00 starter was a typical bar dip usually costing under $ 5.00. I ordered fried oysters…, although the outside was crispy, the oysters were obviously old as they were tasteless. The Salad Nicoise had a variety of greens, with undercooked potatoes, and over-seared tuna. No black olives, no hint of anchovies — just rather dull. Our meal cost $ 72 plus tip and I regret every cent. This«bistro» actually made me angry: the prices were high, the food mediocre, and the waitress who served us was pleasant, but uninformed. PS — The previous night we went to a small Italian restaurant around the block from here call Tre Bicchieri which was so pleasant and good. Unilocal and urbanspoon gives it 4 stars

I have been up and down on Bistro. This visits warrants a 3.5 but I am rounding down. Everything was in the good to okay category. My French onion soup was obviously the bottom of the kettle and was more like gravy than soup albeit tasty soup. My son and his wife split the duck while the said it was good they felt it was undercooked and the fat was not crispy. While the Bartender did not know how to mix a French 75 his failure to lookup how was pretty weak.

Bistro 310 has the best food, service and atmosphere in Columbus hands down. I’m a regular here. I gave this place 3 stars because I’m ranking it against restaurants outside the Columbus area. A few key tips when dining here: sit in the bar area which has a much better atmosphere than the main dinning area, don’t order the sushi(Columbus is land-locked after all), and try to get Patrick as your server or bartender — he’s the absolute best, although all of the servers are generally nice and friendly. If you’re not watching your weight, the chicken sandwich and fries from the pub menu is pretty damn good.

Our dinner was amazing! I made the reservation through Unilocal two weeks in advance. They had our table waiting for us when we arrived. The hummus and warm pita bread appetizer was unbelievable. Very fresh and good. I had the Ahi tuna and would have it again without a question. My wife said that her Roast Chicken was the best meal she has had in Columbus. To finish we had the Flourless Chocolate Cake and it was an exclamation point on the evening. We were very impressed on our first visit to this restaurant.

Ended up at Bistro 310 last night with a group of 9 to celebrate February birthdays. We drove in from Indy, Bloomington and Terre Haute to join some friends from Columbus. We were all really excited to be going there to try this chef-owned and driven restaurant! However, we did spend a couple of weeks stalking their website only to never find the February menu available. Staff were very accommodating when making our reservation. The restaurant is inviting inside and out. It’s very classy, tidy and comfortable. We ordered a variety of appetizers, sushi, grilled artichoke, baked brie, cheese and crackers and curry mussels. I enjoyed my mussels. The broth was hot, flavorful and the mussels were clean and plump. I kept sneaking table bread to soak up the delicious broth. My husband enjoyed his sushi, bar the accompanying mayo-type condiment. Appetizers were a real hit with the table. It was around this time that our lovely server visited our table to take our orders. This went smoothly, except the lamb shank being unavailable. My friend who ordered the braised shank went with the alternate lamb loin dish. Soup and salads came next. The Red Pepper Bisque was thin and bland. A little added salt helped it a lot, but there were a lot of half full bowls left at the table. My wedge salad was pretty good. The bleu cheese was creamy and tangy. At some point, the server came back to say that there was only one filet left in the kitchen and we had ordered three. Two people changed their order, leaving the single filet available to one of us. Shortly after, she came back to the final person saying that the lone filet was gone. Our entrees arrived and, for the most part, looked gorgeous. Thought and attention was given to presentation and plating. The lamb loin portion was embarrassingly small, though. It was in two pieces and I’d be surprised if it was more than three ounces total. The pieces weren’t even in size and were cooked separately(not a large piece, sliced), leading me to believe that it was trimmings. The lamb was cooked very well and it tasted delicious. Thought there was only about 4 or 5 bites of it. The cauliflower and parsnip purée served with it was far too sweet.(One Star) My Mushroom Carbonora was very bland. Very bland. The menu described smoked mushrooms, but there was no sign of any smokey or even roasted mushroom flavor. The poached egg was perfectly cooked, but there was so much water in the bottom of the bowl that I didn’t have a creamy yolk coated pasta, but rather spaghetti sitting in an inch of yolky water. A little seasoning and maybe a splash of sherry would have done a lot to help.(One Star) The duck was pretty good, but the breast was a little overcooked and the skin wasn’t super crispy. The dijon sauce was really delicious.(Three Stars) One of the steaks ordered medium was served more towards rare. The Bacon-Goat cheese tater tots are more like a croquette and they were crispy on the outside and creamy inside, but the taste of goat cheese was overwhelming. No sign of bacon. They were served nestled into some red pepper flavored goo. It was not delicious and oddly gritty.(Two stars) The Ahi tuna looked well cooked and was a good portion size for Ahi. I didn’t taste this, but the diner who ordered it really enjoyed it.(Three Stars). There was potential in all of the entrees and none of them were inedible. A few of us hung in for dessert, but some did not. There were a couple of people that just gave up at this point, but a few of us that know a good dessert can be very redeeming! Apple Tart came out looking really tight and delicious. Unfortunately, the three that were at our table had caramel sauce that was very burnt tasting. My flourless chocolate cake was served with a vanilla bean lollipop. Firstly, the cake was ice cold and I found that unusual. Warm would have been nice, but even room temperature would have been better. The lollipop was a small scoop of vanilla ice cream in a thick hard chocolate shell. It tasted a little freezer burned, but the chocolate wasn’t of good quality at all. A scoop of ice cream with a warm chocolate sauce would have been worlds better. The espresso chocolate crème brûlée didn’t have much of a sugary shell and the interior was grey in color. We were really taken care of, staff wise. They were generous with their time and helpful in making choices. Our drinks were kept full and we were really treated well. I hate leaving this review because I wanted to love it. The menu is exciting. We all left in agreement that if the person in charge of our meals could cook as well as the menu was written… it would have been a huge win.

Went here for my big birthday(yes, I’m a few decades old.) Was a good place. Can’t say I’d drive back to Columbus specifically for the experience, but if I’m in town… Service was good — they cleared the tables quickly and were polite, which is important on a special occasion. Appetizers were great. They offer sustainable fish options. But my entrée fell half-way short. Ordered short ribs(I don’t get beef often, except from haters). First thing I noticed was that the mashed potatoes tasted like pure salt. Then the first half of my short ribs were nearly inedible — nearly all fat, and I nearly sent them back. But then the second half was perfect — little fat, super tasty, perfectly cooked to my medium request. Dessert was good. Décor in the main dining room was lacking. We were sat in the back corner, which was fine for a large party, but the buffet table next to us looked like the most afterthought item in the house, with a few pieces of fake plants and candles carelessly strewn about. Bistro 310 should pay as much attention to the back of the house as the front. But yes, I’d go again. And I’d be prepared to let half of my short ribs go to my dogs — they need a reminder every now and again of how much I love them.
