You’ll learn fast; this is a locals-only bar. If you aren’t already a patron from the neighborhood, then expect a cold reception. I stopped off here after getting my caffeine fix at Urban Spirit(recommended) just a block west which closes an hour earlier on Saturdays(6PM). Rain was starting to come down, so I thought, «why not»? Glad I stopped in, because there was a heavy freak hail storm for 30 seconds. On the down side, despite not being that busy, I was ignored by both bartenders, with one who was visibly very displeased at my presence. After watching the weather clear up enough for me to bike back up north within a few minutes I was putting on my gloves, since I knew to take the hint. While doing so a third bartender appeared, probably back from the kitchen, to take my order so I had a Bud and a shot of Jack. She earned the extra star. There’s nothing bad about the ambiance of the bar itself or the people who frequent it, but for those who live outside of the neighborhood which is the vast majority of us I’d unfortunately have to advise against stopping by, though there are thankfully a handful of businesses on E Long that are welcoming to both residents and visitors. If you’re a local it’ll do just fine. If not, well, keep on moving.
