Breakfast Burrito… possibly the best in Cbus! + Seems like a mom + pop operation… always friendly service.

The cachapa is gluten-free and without the cheese is dairy free(yes, the cilantro sauce is dairy free). Everything is made from scratch and he will tell you the ingredients for every sauce proudly. Really a great place for breakfast or any other meal — fast, delicious, and affordable!

I walked in to Casa Sazon and ordered up the Cachapa — mostly because I’d never said«Cachapa» out loud and just relished the opportunity. Once said aloud, the results were great. I probed the owner on whether the chicken or pork would be better. He confirmed that the chicken is more«popular», but that the sweetness and spiciness of the pork really works best with the corn pancake. Damn it, he knew what he was talking about. The pork was sweet in a barbecuey way(making up words again) and had a nice kick to it(I like very spicy, so this is probably very spicy by many standards, but just a kick for me). In any event, I’ll need to frequent Casa Sazon a bit more often for lunch. I was in and out for $ 8 and had an awesome dish and got an expanded vocabulary.

One cold and rainy day last month, my co-worker convinced me to make the trek from our office on the east side of Columbus Commons to Casa Sazon. I agreed to venture out into the wind and rain with her to find this Venezuelan oasis in the middle of downtown, though I was clad only in a short-sleeved sweater dress, tights and ballet flats. The entire way, I questioned my resolve… and my decision not to wear my wellies that morning. Until we arrived, that is. I ordered a chicken cachapa with a side of plantains. I was not disappointed. The cachapa was everything that other Unilocal reviewers said it would be and more, and the plantains were perfectly roasted to a warm, slightly-crispy, caramellized perfection. I was thoroughly impressed by the end of our meal(though not yet thoroughly thawed and dried out from our journey to the restaurant, alas). Today, I planned to pack a sandwich, but I realized during my morning preparations that I lacked a key ingredient — my boyfriend had eaten all of our cheese without telling me! Rather than dwelling on this inconvenience, I immediately thought of Casa Sazon, and began to crave a cachapa. Eureka! I shouted at my cheese drawer. Problem solved! Today’s journey across downtown was far less grueling, though the wind picked up on our return trip. But I have little memory of the blustery bitterness of Ohio’s spring, for I was fortified by my vegetarian cachapa(far superior to the meat version, in my opinion), another side of sweet, warm plantains, and the joyful memory of a humorous exchange with the older gentleman running the cash-register about our to-go boxes. All-in-all, it was another worthwhile trip and I am certain that we will find yet another chilly, windy day to make it over there.

This is an awesome little lunch spot downtown. I could mention a number of things on their menu but it’s all about the Cachapa. Don’t know what that is? Perfect, go there now and order one, you won’t be disappointed. You will, however, feel the need to take a nap afterward. Reasonable prices, quick service, an option to dine in with real plates and silverware, and a super friendly staff make this a gem downtown you need to check out.

The food is really good and the portions are very generous(I have yet to finish a burrito no matter how hard I try). The service is fast and very friendly. This place is worth a try if you work in the downtown area and are looking for some great Venezuelan food.

Where has this place been all my life? I just ate lunch there and was BLOWNAWAY. Delicious! And guess what kids? The Cachapas and Arepas are gluten free! Yipee! I tried the Cachapa today(sweet corn cakey thing) with pork and told them to load up on the spicy. My mouth is on fire, my belly is full, and all for under $ 10. It’s a hole in the wall, but the food is fresh and tasty. I have always eaten at El Arepazo in the past, but I’ve decided that I’ll start cheating on them. A lot. You MUST try this place!

Another whole-in-the-wall gem! One word. Cachapa! This Venezuelan cornbread-style dish is the main reason you should stop here! Get it loaded with a meat(spicey pork is a fave) and all the toppings you can take! I had a gyro from here earlier today, and it wasn’t too bad, but I’d recommend that you go with the Cachapa if you are really looking something tasty. You can get out of here with a side & drink for under $ 10. It’s kinda a plain-looking place, but when it comes to their food specialties, you won’t care. VAMOS! P. S. It’s spelled CASASAZON(it shows it right in the picture) and it’s a VENEZUELAN-style cuisine!

This little spot is great for a cheap lunch. They have a board out front that gives you the specials. I have been a couple of times and stuffed myself for under $ 10 bucks. The plantains are really good and simple. The beans and rice are solid. The main menu has some things foodies will like to roll the dice on. All in all, it is worth the visit…

So delicious! My co-worker introduced me to the chicken cachapas and now I’ve got my another co-worker hooked on them. I haven’t branched out from my cachapas yet but from what I’ve seen, it all looks delicious. Food is cooked fresh to order and the employees are all really nice. They also serve breakfast, which I’ve never tried but have heard is good. Prices are reasonable too — a little cheaper than Chipotle and much more authentic. Today I had a cachapa and a bottled Diet Coke to go and it was $ 8.00 total. There is a small amount of indoor seating but I’ve never seen it crowded so you should be able to find a table. I like the speed at this place, as well as the great service and delicious food.
