I love going to Spinelli’s! As a Downtown resident it is so great to have a place that is open on the weekends and has good breakfast and lunch. I especially love going there to work on my computer while I eat a panini! Unfortunately, I should have written this review sooner to get more people to go there because they have to close this location since they didn’t do well enough financially. Last official day is Sunday August 7th, 2011.

Hey what happened to the hummus and veggie for $ 3.99? You got the stuff, don’t cross us vegetarians off your prefered customer list. *Katrina and a man in kitchen went out of their way to make it up for me. Thank YOU to them!

As far as delis in Columbus are concerned, I’ll say this: skip Katzinger’s and go to Spinelli’s. Yes, it’s a little more chain like, no it’s not an artisan cheese shop, but it’s also not pretentious. It’s not gimmicky. It’s just really good sandwiches for a really good price. I can’t wait to go back.

I’ve been to Spinelli’s on Neil, as well as the new downtown location. Conveniently located on High St. just past Gay and High, this Spinelli’s is quite a bit bigger and has plenty of seating. On Sunday around 11:30 a.m., Spinelli’s was bustling.(Given how busy Tip Top, Due Amici, and other local eateries are on weekends as well, the demand for downtown restaurants serving residents seems to be on the rise.) We ordered bagels and a cinnamon roll, but unfortunately the cinnamon roll got lost in the ordering process. My everything bagel was completely covered, which is pretty rare for an everything bagel; it also had a nice salty crunch to it. I give Spinelli’s credit for making what I think is the closest that Columbus gets to New York-style bagels, and their veggie cream cheese isn’t half bad. I would like to see a chunkier cream cheese, but other than that I don’t have any major complaints. I would suggest checking out Spinelli’s in the downtown area if you’re in the mood for a light breakfast or lunch. It makes for a good addition in the downtown area, and I’ll most likely be back again!
