Why to people bash the commissary. It’s a very small town and small commissary who try’s hard with some good people. I enjoy the commissaries and their prices. I say if you don’t like it there are other choose downtown

The commissary isn’t great, but it’s gotten better. Although the military contracts sometimes interrupt these services, there is usually a deli and sushi stand available. They now have more organic, gluten free, and vegan items than they have had in the past(for those who are interested in that type of food). I have had problems with the longevity(and selection) of produce that I buy there, but for the most part, it’s stays good for a few days at least. The meat is good quality, but there is also a limited selection, and if you go on a Sunday night, don’t expect to get any chicken breasts! They also tend to bring in new products, I get all excited, and then I never see the product again. That may be a problem at all commissaries. Overall, though, it is very cheap, has a selection that is at least beyond the very basic, and convenient if you live on base.
