I had a simply wonderful evening at Copius tonight. From the warm greeting at the door I went straight to the bar to share a pre dinner drink with my two companions. The bartender was great. I can be indecisive about cocktails and after hemming and hawing for too long I asked him to surprise me. Wow! I said I was craving something light and fruity and he made me a delicious Rosemary Limincello drink that made me smile. I had two. The three of us entered the dining room which is modern yet warm and very inviting. We shared spectacular fried oysters, cheesy soup and a delightful beet salad to start. All deelish. Our professional yet charming server, Cootch, … Yes, Cootch … Helped us navigate a menu that held out too many tempting items. We chose fresh fresh fresh walleye and buttery Arctic char. Both wonderful. I had an enormous cheeseburger with yummy duck fat fries that was a bargain at 13 dollars. With my sandwich Cootch suggested a beer that was like a tango together. Dessert. A blueberry buttermilk cake that made us swoon. I really had a great time and a wonderful meal. I will be back !

We sat at the bar for happy hour and ordered a variety of small plates. The Serrano Beef Tips over celery root mash was wonderful. The fried oysters and the beet salad were my favorite. The duck drummies were also good. The bar manager, Natalie, was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. When we asked two women at the bar what not to order, they mentioned the crab cakes so we didn’t try them. We will return, especially since it is a part of NOTES!

Copious just didn’t have anything outstanding about the experience to make me want to return. Two girls standing around at the host stand. Enter a very stark and sterile dining room. The view outside from the surrounding Windows is upbeat and fun. Service was awful. Drinks stayed empty most of the time. Server apologized stating that he had more tables than expected. Food was ok. Nothing I would return for and while another employee served the table, the original waiter dos not return for quite some time to check if the food came out to the table correctly. Lots of reaching over guests at the table. And by far the worst is the check delivery system. It’s on an iPad of sorts. But the server presents it to you individually and then stands there as you tip and sign. That’s a bit intrusive. So now we have signed the check so it’s time to get out on a weekend night at 10 pm. So many other great places.

I started to write a big long review but then realized it was sounding so bizarre people might think I’m just doing this for shits and giggles so I’ll be real right up front. Copious is a poorly-planned, overly-priced, mediocre restaurant in too big of a space, which is staffed by sketchy street people(except for our replacement server who was awesome and nice). It’s a weird mix of «we didn’t know which direction to take the concept» and«we don’t really know what people are into now days». It’s in a weird area and the basement music venue/upstairs fine dining thing is really really weird. If you happen to have a late dinner prepare to have your ass set to vibrate because the band downstairs doesn’t care that you didn’t request the massage-chair option. The menu is actually killer but our food– which included mussels and the brisket– came out dry and lukewarm… the drinks were expensive as hell and things were generally just really bizarre here– from the hostess who didn’t see us standing right in front of her for 15 min to the waiter who abruptly«decided to leave» etc. such a weird experience that I don’t recommend anyone repeat.

What a great find! Wonderful farm to table menu, warm, friendly service and very reasonable prices. After dinner, just downstairs to Notes for great music by the Ken Weaver Trio. Perfect evening!

We were excited to have another restaurant near home but were ultimately quite disappointed in our dinner. Our waiter was missing a front tooth and was generally not well informed about the menu and wasn’t very professional. The good was incredibly bland. I’ll give it another try for sure, but the first meal was an utter disappointment.

Went here for a NYE dinner. Was pleasantly surprised that reservations were still available a week before 12/31, but that’s likely because this location is still new. Loved the food; really I was blown away because I had written off the restaurant as just another«New American» establishment. The gentleman and I split the crab dip(think deconstructed crab rangoon with fried wonton skins serving as a chip), a beet salad, and the filet mignon with a giant lobster ravioli. The filet was perfectly cooked – I was so impressed! Though I would’ve preferred an actual lobster tail, the ravioli was quite immense and filled with tender meat. Will definitely be back for food and to check out Notes, the music venue. Service was a bit wonky, but that is understandable because it was NYE. Examples include receiving a $ 66 bottle of wine instead of the $ 27 one I ordered. But since we drank it all and it was quite good, we didn’t ask for an adjustment(and you have to live it up a bit on the last day of the year!).

Went to Copious with my family for a Birthday Dinner. Overall great restaurant. I got the crab and crawfish cakes. They were fresh and tasty. The service was very helpful and accommodating. Must Try !

Food was very tasty and I love the atmosphere and menu. The service was a little slow but that’s expected when a new restaurant opens up. I can’t wait to go here again!

I attended the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials(COMTO) Annual Holiday Celebration on Saturday, December 12th. Even though the event was catered, the bar was Copious. I agree with most of the reviews. Fantastic venue. Very impressive. The Valet service was OUTSTANDING(and very entertaining!) The Valet Service? YES! He brought our vehicles to us after sprinting over High Street and down to where our cars were parked! One of the most hilarious(and impressive signs of customer service I have ever experienced, for sure!) We all laughed! The only ding on my review would be the the watered down alcoholic drinks. Spent major moola $$$$ for water! Not good. At the end of the day, I was very impressed with this very nice restaurant! I would go again(and sneak my own drinks in side! ha!)

Great atmosphere, breakfast food was delicious– tacos w chorizo, egg, avocado and a homemade hot sauce that was flavorful w serious heat. White cheddar grits were perfectly cooked and the fried green tomatoes were so good they didn’t even need a dip. The Eggs Oh’Bryan was a great pairing of corn beef hash and a poached egg w hollandaise. Bloody Mary had garlic and black pepper w a hint of lime, and the coffee was French-pressed Café Brioso beans– all so good! And the friendly, knowledge service was the icing on the cake– we’ll definately be back for dinner and more brunch!

Copious is good but not great. Is upscale and by upscale I mean pricy. Their burger is really good. Service is good. Place good. I ordered the pan friend chicken and it was ok and the serving size kind of small. I’d probably go again

One of the best restaurants in Columbus. We’ve been here twice now and were impressed both times. Both the service and the food are fantastic. Wagyu Bolognese, Duck Confit Risotto, Pan Fried Chicken, Meatloaf, etc, etc. all worth a visit.

Lovely new lounge/restaurant in what has previously been a rather ugly building unoccupied for years. The restaurant is spacious and well decorated with classy art adorning the walls. Happy Hour was our first visit and the menu did not disappoint. $ 5 well drinks and $ 6 well martinis coupled with a happy hour app menu that includes crab cakes, Ohio hummus, and an amazing mushroom crostini made me a very happy birthday girl. Entrees for dinner run on the high side($ 14 to $ 28) but look delectable. We will be back for sure! Service from the bar staff was wonderful as well.

We had read good reviews an decided to try this place out. Things didn’t start well when the waitress told my wife she would have to check with the bartender to see if they made margaritas(they technically do, but the drink was awful and tasted like orange juice and soda water). We ordered the Ohio Hummus as an appetizer, which was really good. It came mixed with a corn mixture. Next was a salad, which was pretty awful. It was dry and the lettuce tasted like it hadn’t been washed. For our meals I got the meatloaf and my wife got porkchops. I’d give the meatloaf a B and the pork chops a C–(very fatty chops). The service was very attentive, though which was great. To be honest, I’d probably give this review 3 stars, but given that we dropped $ 120 for an underwhelming meal, I’m keeping it at 2 stars.

Love, love love! Oh my goodness, what a pleasant surprise!!! I LOVECOPIOUS. It fell off my radar since I first heard of it because the food menu wasn’t up for a couple of weeks, but I came across them again on Instagram and one look at that food and those cocktails, and my husband and I booked it to brunch. Boy were we happy upon arrival, during brunch, and the entire rest of the day. Service was friendly and attentive, the building and restaurant itself is gorgeous. Very spacious, love the hardwood floors and local art for sale on the walls. Bloody Marys were very tasty and there is a little piece of cheese as part of the garnish skewer… SOLD. I ordered the Butter Bean Burger which is a veggie burger made from lima beans, mushrooms, and avocado. I got a side salad and asked for ranch dressing on the side. They brought my dressing a few minutes after the salad was served since they just«whipped it up from scratch». Hello? It was one of the best dressings I’ve ever tasted too. My husband had the breakfast special: quiche with gouda and candied bacon and we ordered two sides: the fried green tomatoes and the white cheddar grits to sample and share. In addition to all of the food being absolutely perfect, I love that you can order extra side dishes like the tomatoes and grits for just a few dollars. It’s the perfect side portion to try a couple of extra items on the menu. A steal of a deal in my opinion. We walked out stuffed and happy. Can’t wait to come back and bring people with us. Also want to check out the music venue, Notes, in the basement!

I celebrated my birthday there. It was a Sunday and they were dead so we had the entire restaurant. Staff was friendly and informative. Food was delicious and the chef came out to ask how we like the meal. Food is local and the meatloaf was a crowd pleasure. The price was a little high but not too crazy and you can definitely share a plate. Also wine and cheese/charcuterie were great. Finally great fall dishes and desserts. I would definitely go back and have friends check it out. After living in the village for a while it’s nice to go some place different but still local.

Excellent food and drinks. The owner has a great vision and actively tries to provide an excellent dining, drinking, and musical experience for his guests. There is also a heavy emphasis on being a good neighbor in the community. The wild mushroom risotto is to die for.

Copious(and its subterranean partner NOTES) was a smash hit! I met a fellow foundation board member at Copious for cocktails before dinner. The bar area has seating for 20+ persons and is well-appointed. I sampled scotch while my friend enjoyed a beer(Wiedeman) and that was terrific. We grabbed a booth near the back where we could talk, over dinner, and things went well. Food — soup(butter squash & apple) was just terrific; taste and consistency with cooked chunks of squash — yummy. Our meals were the steak bistro(ordered rare-rare; received medium rare which as fine) and amish chicken with spinach/kale. Really delicious. Copious is all tech for ordering and payment; servers using tablets. Our server seemed a little overwhelmed by payment but it didn’t deter from the great food and nice atmosphere. NOTES was really great. Larger space than expected in the basement of Copious, the jazz club should do well if Columbus finds its«hipster» culture and Copious/NOTES can deliver on the acts consistently. Featured was MOJOFLO who really kicks out the great music and vocals. Lots of friendly stage area seating — nice bar area away from the tones so you could hear yourself talk; even a nice little back area couch room. I’m recommending you visit Copious. I’m going back and hope to keep it at 5-STARS.

Dined at Copious Friday. The restaurant is beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was mediocre. My dish, the brisket, was very fatty and served a little above room temperature. The dish had a good flavor, but the amount of fat on the meat made it almost inedible. My husband had lamb shank which was very tasty. Overall I would say they need to work on the food and the presentation on the plate. After dinner went downstairs to «Note» a very cool jazz club. Very worth a visit.
