I have been a member of this credit union for a little over a year now and really love it. It has the true credit union feel, not that of a big bank. You can tell that everyone here cares about helping you. I love going into the Hilliard branch and being greeted by Reta. She is friendly, helpful and always interested in what’s going on in your life. It’s always like talking to an old friend. As far as services, they have everything that a regular bank offers. I find online banking to be simple and easy to use. The Hilliard branch is closest to my house but this credit union participates in shared branching too, so there are several credit unions along my commute that I can also perform transactions at for free. Quick story, I got a(gag) gift for my wedding that included hundreds of crumpled up dollar bills in a vase. I took them all into Credit Union of Ohio and they were super patient counting the money and accepting it without making me feel awkward.(It took quite awhile — imagine wads of hundreds of crumpled dollars.) I’m not sure I would have gotten a similar attitude or such positive service somewhere else. I would recommend this credit union. They have great rates for loans, etc. too and they are very supportive of the Hilliard community. I enjoy being a member because I understand the importance of credit unions so that we as consumers continue to have options and choices when it comes to our finances.

In contrast, I say run to Chase– and there is someone to answer a question, point you to things on the web site, anything you need, 24⁄7. With this credit union – you can reach someone only during banking hours, locations are few and far between(and you must figure out different rules in order to use different credit union branches – e.g, yes to use the drive through at one branch, but no, you can’t go to the desk, or no to the drive through at another, but yes to use the ATM) and the website is cumbersome. Given how few branches there are and the limited availability of customer service, an intuitive, robust web site is needed for online banking, and Robust this web site is not! You will be much happier at a bank with more resources, services, and the capability of easy online banking. Go to Chase, Huntington, a bank that has branches at your supermarket. Ultimately, you will not be happy with the credit union. (I’m a former member who has left for the above reasons.)
