Tried Dada Empanada for the first time on a whim. I was very pleased! Every empanada I ordered tasted great! I had the italian, spicy chicken, and mofongo(?). They were hot and very tasty. I also loved the avocado sauce that came with it. I ordered from GrubHub, so I had no issues with wait times or parking. I’ll definitely be ordering again, sometime soon!

Wonderful, friendly service, made to order delicious empanadas. Had the three cheese and mofongo ones and both were very tasty and authentic. Only downside is that there are only two tables if you want to dine in but calling ahead or take out would work tremendously.

Love this place! The empanadas were excellent and everyone was very friendly! We’ve been wanting to try this place and are so glad we did. We wish they had more seating(only 2 tiny tables) so we could bring a group of friends but we’ll definitely be back anyway. On our way out we saw a sign that said $ 2 empanadas on Tuesdays!

Just paid for an über to this establishment based on its hours on Unilocal.Hours say open until 3am on Friday. We arrived at 1:30am and it’s definitely closed. So frustrating.

Note to self: Next time, forgo the Empanada Dinner meal! Let me explain. The dinner consists of: two empanadas(any ones you feel would be a good match for your tummy), a side of black beans, a side of rice, and a few thin fried plantains($ 9). The two empanadas filled me right up. I did also eat the portion of black beans. But no-go on the rice! It’s just your normal, everyday bland white fluff. A waste of money, IMO. I got the Mofongo and Spinach and Mushroom empas. Both were stuffed full. I’m glad this was the case, considering others’ reviews I’ve read. The bread portion of the moons is soft. No, not soggy! Soft and chewable. It definitely didn’t overthrow the innards’ flavors. Hearty serving of cheese in both. Good mozzarella(?) flavor, and gooey! The Mofongo radiated cheese and bacon. Couldn’t pull out the plantain taste that’s mixed in with the bacon and cheese. Probably a rad taste, mixing the sweet with the salty. I’ll definitely remember to request all three profiles, the next time I’m in. My fav was the Spin-n-Mush. Great sautéed flavor of the leafs. Perhaps some more shroom slices, but that’s a personal love that I need to request next time, also. The black beans were good. Nothing orgasmic, however. The few plantains had a great taste. Thus, next time, I’d opt for the ‘nadas and a side of the bananas — Jose’s side order of those was pretty freaking huge! This place is NOT conducive for group gatherings! No, really, I’m being serious, unfortunately. There’s enough room inside the door for two small tables and about 6 – 7 customers standing room. Carry out is their best friend. Actually, quite a few college and young adult customers came in for take-out. Obviously, they’re doing several things right!

Empanadas were delicious, large size for the price. They had a lot of different options and baled fresh to order! I would not recommend the meal with rice and beans — not much flavor, so get an extra empanada instead. Will definitely return again!

Others may disagree, but we’ve had a real dearth of quality Empanada’s in CBus. Dada Empanada fixes all of that. The storefront is tiny and, I’d guess, is more of a take out than eat in. That being said, there are 2 small tables inside and a table for four outside on the sidewalk. No matter, you’re there for the food. On that front, this place succeeds. We arrived right at 11am when the restaurant opens, so we took the first 4 options – spicy chicken, beef and cheese, italian and Mofungo. Dada’s empanadas are baked whereas other regional varieties of empanadas are fried. My wife likes the beef empanada but the Mofungo is my favorite. Not only because it’s fun to say but also because it contains bacon, fried plaintains and cheese. When I go back, I’ll definitely be getting this one again. We just had empanadas and cilantro sauce but there are other options on the menu as well to have more of a full meal experience. Also, don’t miss the coca cola with real sugar! Lastly, here’s a semi existential question my wife and I discussed on the way back to our car. What’s the difference between a baked empanada and a calzone?

Mofongo. Chorizo and potato. Extra sauce. Very good food and a small menu that seems to be hard to go wrong on. Very different from other stuff around campus.

I drove all the way from Dublin after I read the reviews for this place and was craving empanadas. As others have mentioned, getting a parking spot is very challenging in this neighborhood(especially on game day — go Bucks!) so I just had my husband wait in the car while I got our order to go. The man who greeted me(who I assume is the owner) was very nice and took my order right away. I got us two dinners with one spicy chicken and one beef empanada each(I chose the dinner because of the rice and beans — $ 9/each). I also ordered an additional three cheese empanada because I wasn’t sure they would be filling. It took about 10 min for him to get my order ready. Not too bad. I am still trying to figure out what kind of empanadas these are — I have had many. They are not like Puerto Rican empanadillas, Colombian or Cuban empanadas. They are doughy with a moderate amount of filling and looked to be baked instead of fried. That is fine with me, I love all kinds. Unfortunately, the beef was underseasoned and very bland. The chicken empanada was spicy as advertised but otherwise did not have a lot of flavor. The three cheese one was probably my favorite because I like cheesy things but I was hoping to like one of the other ones better. I’m Puerto Rican(born, raised and just moved to Ohio 4 years ago) so to say I crave rice and beans is an understatement. I paid the extra $ 4 to have this with my meal and was so disappointed. Also bland. I really really wanted to like this place as there are no real good Latin food businesses in Columbus and I love sponsoring local businesses. Unfortunately, the lack of seasoning really turned me off. My husband agrees(I drag him everywhere they serve Latin food).

You should definitely put in a call ahead order as opposed to ordering in at the window, it will save you a good 15+ minutes. They have glass bottled Coke and a few other drink options inside, and an impressive variety of empanadas. The dinner special I got was 2 empanadas, beans, rice, and 2 sweet plantain chips for $ 9. Everything was delicious, but I do think the empanadas could have a little more«stuff» inside. The beef and cheese was pretty full but the other ones I got, chicken, and mofongo? were a little lacking. The amount of avocado cilantro sauce in the little cups they gave us was consistently and comically lacking. All of our cups were like 1⁄6th full(Señor and Pazo downtown hook it up on the sauce front). The taste of the food was great though! The staff was nice and I will definitely be back, but I’ll be smart enough to call ahead. Parking sucks, royally, but that goes with the location of the place. I would definitely recommend trying it out though! A few tweaks and Dada could be a real gem!

I love empanadas and I was so excited for this to come to town!!! However, the empanadas need more stuffing. It was bread, which was disappointing. Also my other suggestion… The sauce. They gave us 20 small containers with a teaspoon each. If they put more stuffing and gave more sauce, then it would be a 4 or 5 star.

I just finished eating my beef empanada with the cilantro sauce and it was amazing. Guillermo is very nice and friendly. BTW I was born and raised in Mexico and this has been one of the few occasions in the U.S. where I have really liked the food.

Just had my first Dada Empanada experience today. The empanadas were delicious; fresh and flavorful, without being too heavy. I tried spicy chicken(amazing) and spinach and mushroom(also good). The employees are very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make the experience a pleasant one. It’s a small restaurant with just a table or two inside and one outside. Very affordable for the quality of the food. I’ll definitely be going back!
