The service is outstanding ! The fries are delicious and served in a generous portion. Burgers are great and love the buns. The Philly cheesesteak is drippy, gooey, meaty deliciousness on a French roll!

Cheesy cheesesteak — it was larger than I thought it would be. I liked it! It’s hard to find a good cheese steak around Columbus. Bread was good, tomatoes were out of season, but to be expected in early March in Ohio :). They made it to ordered and let me put anything I wanted on it. Exactly how it should be. Special chicken cheesesteak — had pepperoni and Marinera on it. My wife liked it. We also ordered wings. We asked for them baked, and they made them to order. We were told ahead of time it would take 15 – 20 minutes, but we’re fine with that. The guy working, who I think was actually the owner gave us free fries, which was above and beyond. They were crispy crinkle cut, and nice and hot! The wings were good and cooked well, I hate when you get slimy wings when you don’t get them fried. Overall I really liked it. Would definitely go back if i was craving a decent cheese steak. Keep in mind it’s a campus resturant that is older and ONCAMPUS :) great drinking food as they said they are open until 3 am. They definitely went out of their way for us as a customer. Also it sounds like a lot of the crew players go their after games to eat before going out.

I am of the opinion that ketchup is used to make bad food bearable. The best use of ketchup is to drown out other flavors. Because I like to taste my food, I usually avoid it altogether. For this meal, I used up all the ketchup they gave me and wish I had more. I came in for lunch to grab the lunch special, which, this week, was the Pizza Burger. It was $ 5 for the burger, fries, and a drink, which is the only reason this is a 2 star review(a really good deal). The problem is… you get even less than what you pay for. It’s basically canned marinara and a slice of mozzarella(not fresh) on a small patty(the kind you get in a 40 pack, frozen, for relatives you don’t like if you want to save money on a BBQ), between two crappy white bread patties(the kind you would buy for that same kind of BBQ). It was possibly the worst burger I’ve ever paid for. The fries were not the worst fries I’ve ever had, but worse than average. Many of them were over-fried and hardened, rendering them inedible. The ones that were not over-fried were your basic entry-level diner fries. The drink, though, was a diet pepsi, the highlight of the meal. Thanks, corporate America :). Maybe it’s just the specific meal I got, but I’m not coming back to find out.

Have this little hole in the wall pop up on Unilocal needless to say not much to look at but let me tell you what very friendly owner and great sandwiches worth driving around the block a few times to find a parking spot

Tried the Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak, it was a notch above any other cheesesteak you would find in Columbus. The nuclear is not that hot, but definitely has a good flavor. Next time I would ask for it with extra sauce. The fries were pretty average. The owner is really nice and chill, and seems happy to see anyone walking through the door.

Honestly the best place in Columbus to eat. Drunk, sober, does not matter. Rodrigo is the greatest and offers the best customer service in town. Everything on the menu is incredible. A week without Phamous Philly’s is a waste. 10⁄10 would recommend. GOTOPHAMOUSPHILLY’S.

Absolutely the best buffalo philly I have ever had in Ohio, also the Mac n cheese bites are delicious. I will be making this my regular sub shop from now on.

Very pleased with my first order. Not many places have a good steak & cheese sandwich that deliver in Clintonville. I ordered a cheese steak w/lettuce, tomato, mayo, and extra steak. It was marvelous! If you like Penn Station’s take on the cheese steak you’ll like this joint. I actually like this place better, they nailed the perfect blend of cheese, beef, and excellent bread. It wasn’t dry: the various«juices» blended together to make that glorious mess that a proper cheese steak is known for. Good job guys/gals! I would have given it five stars but the crinkle cut fries with vinegar were average, not bad or anything, but I prefer fresh-cut fries with a cheese steak. TL;DR: I’ll keep them on speed-dial until I have a cardiac event.

My boyfriend and I tried this place not expecting much but we were blown away! I had the mild buffalo chicken cheesesteak with sweet peppers and he had the extra cheesy cheesesteak and we will definitely be regulars. It’s a little pricey but the sandwiches are huge. I should’ve made my sandwich last for 2 meals but it was too good to stop eating.

Being born and raised in Ohio I never understood the buzz of making the trek to Philadelphia to try an authentic Philly Cheesesteak. Don’t get me wrong, I love steak and I most certainly love cheese. I just could never get with the hoopla. I’ve tried O’Charleys(pretty good), back home in the small town I moved from we had Penn Station, the seasoning or oil they put on the bread was amazing, other than the Chicken Teriyaki, I wasn’t a fan of much else. I’ve figured that if those were a representation of what was offered in Philadelphia then you could me with ALL the hype. My feelings about the Famous Philly Cheesesteak changed almost a month ago when my wife and I visited Phamous Philly’s. I’ve been here 3 times since they’ve opened and I will eventually get to try EVERYTHING on the menu. First of all let me just say, beyond the great food that I’ve tried so far, the owner of the place Rodrigo is the reason why we’ve returned so many times. I’ve noticed how he’s interacted with every single one of his customers and he definitely makes it a pleasant experience waiting on your order in his establishment. Pouring it on thick? Well, he earned it! Now, let’s start with the best item on the menu, their #1 seller, his signature Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak. Now If you are thinking«Ugh, I hate hot sauce!», let me stop you right there, it is most certainly MORE than your average over the counter Buffalo Wing sauce. Just telling you that he uses a combination of blue cheese and buffalo sauce with his chicken wouldn’t be enough to replicate this amazing sandwich at home. I can’t explain it, and I’m sure that unless I was Guy Fieri filming Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives, he won’t tell me. I could go on and on about the Cheesy Cheesesteak(Yes, cheese, on cheese, on cheese!) or the Caesar Chicken Cheesesteak, or the Buffalo fries, BUT you’re just going to have to take my word for it and be daring enough to swing by the corner of Summit & Chittenden and try this great new place.

Saw this pop up on my feed the other day, and it grabbed my attention. Little did I know it was only a few blocks up and over from me and had just opened last week. Looking at the menu, and being the sandwich lover that I am, I was completely thrilled. The menu is pretty big, but most of the choices are variations of one thing. You can order Phamous Philly’s through OrderUp, but my buddy and I decided to drive over Saturday morning and grab it to go. I went with the the Buffalo chicken cheesesteak and grabbed an Italian hoagie for the girlfriend. My friend, forever in search of the best Philly cheesesteak in Columbus, went with the original. The service was quick, and we were out of there in 5 – 10 minutes. Parking is a pain the ass though, so be warned! The sandwiches are a pretty decent size in length, somewhere from 8−10″, but we agreed the cheesesteaks could use a little more meat in them. My friend really liked his a lot, especially the bread, which was the same baguette for all three. It was definitely tasty. My sandwich was good too, but I think if I were to get it again, I’d go with the Buffalo chicken cutlet, because I wasn’t a huge fan of the ground up/shredded chicken. The ‘Hot’ sauce I got on it had good flavor, but if you like your buffalo really hot, I’d go with the Nuclear sauce. The let down of the day had to be the Italian sub. My girlfriend couldn’t even finish half of it, because it just wasn’t very good. There was a lot of meat in it, but it reminded me of a Cold Cut Trio at Subway and just didn’t have much flavor. It was overloaded with Italian dressing that made a mess and appeared to just be flavored oil. It made everything super soggy and wet which was kind of nasty. I’d avoid this one if you plan on eating here. Two out of three ain’t bad, and the Italian sandwich might just have been a fluke, because the other two sandwiches were solid. They have everything from hoagies to burgers to wings to salads, so it will definitely take a while to give the rest of the menu a shot. Being as close as we are, and the fact that they’re open until 3 am, there’s a 99% chance that I’ll be back for more. The area is borderline questionable, but it’s mostly just college students, so there’s not a whole lot to worry about eating there late.
