It’s unfortunate when a professional thinks it’s okay to inconvenience customers by discarding their time and value by double and triple booking customer appointments. I had a 3:15 appointment with Dr. Walker, at approximately 3:40 I asked the receptionist if this was the usual wait time or if the doctor was running behind. Her response was this is about usual, he is currently seeing 3:15 patients… I responded that my apt was at 3:15. Long story short, I was led to a room & told that I would be seeing a Nurse Practitioner as the doctor was behind schedule. Again I had the conversation about the wait & was told this was the usual wait for Monday’s and Wednesday’s. I waited an additional 20 minutes and still had not been seen. I proceeded to the receptionist and requested my copay be refunded and left. It appears that it is common practice to overbook as if the customers time does not matter. I want to note that the facial services with Michelle is independent of the dermatology services as I receive facial services monthly and are amazing.

Dr Walker was the worst physician visit I ever had. I had 3 pre cancerous spots on my arm. He came in and diagnosed them, immediately burned them off without asking my permission, and walked out of the room without a word. The intern with him looked horrified. He explained nothing to me and gave me no aftercare instructions. I was too flabbergasted to say anything which is my fault. One got infected; I called my primary care. Others at my place of employment had similar experiences. I have since found a dermatologist who explains procedures and gives me options. I take these reviews seriously as my daughter is an executive chef

Dr. Walker is also listed here under Earl A Walker, MD, seems that he is one of those doctors people either love or hate and not much in between. We love him, have taken my son to him since he was a 18 months, originally referred by his pediatrician but Dr Walker does see lots of teenagers and adults too, seems to do a lot of cosmetic related peels and such. Have even seen a Groupon for that. He is not only excellent with my son, but I find him to be personable and interesting to talk to. He explains everything thoroughly and listens to questions and concerns. His staff is very friendly and they do a good job keeping wait times short, office is comfortable and clean, easy to get to and park(not true of a lot of specialists) and they have convenient Saturday appointments. Not much else one could ask for, kids will have lots of doctors appointments growing up, at least for the occasional skin concerns I don’t have to take time off work.

This was the single worst doctors appointment I have ever had. I showed up to my appointment 5 minutes early, as instructed, and then proceeded to wait 45 minutes in the waiting room. Had my interaction with the doctor gone well, I could overlook the wait; I understand that getting backed up can happen. Dr. Walker was aggressive, condescending, and inappropriate from the onset. His off-hand remarks were offensive and became completely inappropriate in the context of the appointment. Not only did he undermine my answers during the appointment, he steamrolled me with his recommendation, completely disregarding my concerns or input. Bottom-line: if you want a dermatologist, choose someone else.

I was apprehensive about going to a Dermatologist because no really wants to be examined closely and receive diagnosis of any kind. I finally convinced myself that the doctor had seen worse acne and this was a pretty common condition. A coworker recommended him and I’m glad for it. Dr. Walker is adept at working with skin of color, because it is prone to different issues and reactions than less pigmented skin. He’s funny and smart and really my visits lasted about 10 minutes. My skin improved with a regimen and I even got a chemical peel here. Another part of the Doctor’s practice is an aesthetician who does chemical peels and I believe microderm abrasion and waxing and possibly botox. I got a glycolic peel which was pretty darn pricey at $ 200.00 bucks, but I have hyperpigmentation issues. Then I found out salons can do the same procedure for like 100.00(if you are feeling brave) OR you can buy the bottle of peel your self for 20.00 bucks and do it yourself(if you are plucky and a do it yourselfer) its up to you.
