Great store for guns and ammo. Cam is awesome to work with. Just picked up some bricks of 22 at a reasonable price. Thank you!

I’ve been here twice now. I’m thoroughly unimpressed. First off… I HATE Dick’s, so when I found out that Dick’s owns F&S, I was instantly irritated. The first time, I came in to get a registration for my kayak. I had been shopping around for a basic backpacking tent. I had already narrowed it down to a few, one that F&S carried, and one @ REI, so I figured I’d take a look. There was another couple shopping for a tent when I got back there. They were asking about a particular one, but couldn’t find it. My wife and I saw the tent high on the shelf, but didn’t want to interrupt. After the second employee couldn’t find it, we pointed it out for them. That freed up the employee who asked if we needed any help. I explained to him what I was looking for and what I was planning on using it for. I will say he honestly tried to help me out, but didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know. All in all, not a bad experience by any means. The second time I went to F&S was just about a week ago. My wife and I needed to go to Easton anyway, and were looking to replace my father-in-law’s tackle box. I figured they’d have everything we needed there, so we went back. This time, we were only in the fishing section. Did they have everything I was looking for? Absolutely. My enthusiasm comes to a screeching halt right here. My problem is that they only carry 1 or 2 brands of everything. There’s only 1 brand of pretty much all terminal tackle. So the pricing high. We spent about $ 60 on a small tackle bag that was on clearance, hooks, sinkers, slide bobbers & stops, a pack of jigs and 2 lures. I feel like I could’ve gotten way more for my money @ Gander Mountain, plus GM has a much better selection & pricing. The worst part was while I was checking out. The teenage kid behind the counter automatically started ringing me up for a $ 4 «protection plan» for the tackle bag. I understand that’s his job, and he was probably trained to do that, but for some reason that really pissed me off. The store itself is pretty cool and well setup. The employees here seemed friendly & helpful both times. I just feel like you can get way better value and more knowledgeable employees elsewhere. All said, I don’t feel any need to go back to F&S with plenty of other options for outdoor equipment in town.

1 star for store layout and design. I went in for 2 kayaks, 2 kayak paddles, and 4 life jackets. I was budgeting about $ 2000. It was about 15 minutes before close but I knew what I came for so I had planned to be in and out and didn’t want to be rude. However, I wanted to pick these up that night because I had promised my 3 year old daughter and my 5 year old son that we would go out the next morning. So my wife and kids went with me. The minute I got to the door the«Welcoming» guy immediately stopped me and said«we close in 10 minutes so…». My wife jumped in and said, «We are just looking for kayaks and I see them in the back there, we know your closing.» He replied, «oh, ok at least you know where you’re going.» We got back to the kayaks and instantly a store rep came up and said, «can I help you?» Which is good customer service. I replied«just picking up some paddles real quick.» At this point I got the evil glare followed by no response followed by him standing right next to my every move. I get it, it was closing time. So I decided to walk out and call it a night. We’ll at the front was the same«Welcoming» man as before(African American guy). I politely said, «excuse me sir, I just wanted to say that I understand you guys were closing in 10 minutes but I was about to purchase $ 2000 worth of merchandise, had I not felt rushed the second I approached your store. He said«well, it’s closing time.» I said«that is fine, I will gladly check out Dicks, Cabelas or Walmart.» He replied, «you do that.» At this point he had me fired up, «I said I will also now be going on facebook, twitter, Unilocal and instagram to explain this wonderful service.» He replied«please do.» So, here I am on Unilocal to advise people that I found the same 2 kayaks for almost $ 100 cheaper with paddles at Dicks via website. This also includes 20%off life vests and 10% additional off if you sign up to receive emails. Thanks Dick’s for an awesome deal and forget you Field & Stream for ruining my surprise for my kids and a good family night.

The grand opening of this store was a couple of months ago. I have stopped in twice since then. The store is enormous with tons of merchandise for men, women and kids — sporting, hunting and work gear. You walk in to a sitting area with fire place(for all the wives probably — lol) and today they had a couple of tables set up with crafts for kids… I thought that was pretty awesome. There are several setups displaying animals from all over — it’s really pretty cool. The store is so big you find a great selection in every department. All the brands you might want. They have a rewards club and started sending us coupons after out first visit. As far as sports stores go, I think this is the cadallac.

Similar to Cabela’s with a much more condensed feeling. The employees, for the most part, seemed friendly. There was one that kept eyeing us to the point of feeling uncomfortable. Other than that it was a pleasant experience, they have a nice selection of guns and rifles to choose from and ammo that is sometimes difficult to find.

Finally a big chain competitor to Cabelas. Everybody always claims how great Cabelas is at price matching, but the more I go there the more and more they get rid of name brands to replace them with their in house brand. I mean just go and look at the cast iron cookware at Cabelas… most of it has their name on it and an extra $ 20 added to the price. Here at F&S they have an entire aisle of Lodge Logic stuff including lids! And they price match! The store is much smaller than Cabelas, but has a better selection than Dicks. I find the store size to be just perfect… not too much stuff to make you wonder aimlessly for hours looking for what you want. The prices here are pretty good too. I shop a lot on Amazon… no taxes and free shipping and all, and usually cheaper prices. Several things I looked at I scanned with the Amazon app and the F&S price was the same on just about everything. I’ll pay the taxes to have something I want today and to get to see it in person before buying it, but I won’t pay a huge markup for that benefit. The merchandise seems to be pretty high end as well. They have a newer, or better, version of a canoe I bought elsewhere. Updated seats, added pockets, even a square back end… all of which I would have loved to have on my current boat. This place is worth a stop if you’re shopping outdoor gear in the area nearby such as REI or Dicks.

Great experience and staff was veery welcoming and friendly. Prices are very competitive compared to similar stores(Cabela’s) and what I like and staff said others have liked is that Field and Stream does not push their name brand over regular retail brands. If people want a Coleman or a Igloo… they can buy that and not a «Field and Stream» version at a higher price. I will definitely revisit this store for all the positives they gave and I witnessed.
