We moved to Columbus about a year ago and George’s Pizza is right down the street from us! We order at least once a month and are never disappointed. We usually get a pepperoni and cheese pizza, and a deluxe pizza. The pizza is always piping hot! He uses Ohio ingredients and we love to not only help out a small business, but also Ohio farmers. My husband LOVES the wings. They are plump and meaty. My husband’s favorite sauce is the Sweet Blackened. Occasionally we get the subs. I really enjoy the Deluxe Chicken Sub and my husband gets the Meatball Sub. He cooks the chicken and meatballs in the oven! They are freshly cooked and you can taste it! I always enjoy the Tootsie Rolls, Red Pepper flakes, and parmesan cheese that come with each pizza. We are already«regulars» and happy to support a friendly, small business that cares about his customers!

I’m giving George’s two stars and that’s only because the heart of wanting to have a good pizza is there so that earned him a second. There’s only a few good pizzas I like in Columbus and by few– I mean two. So even though they’re my favorite it gets old eating them. Stopped by Unilocal and saw that George’s seemed to have a good pie so decided to try. We pulled up to terrible signage. The old pizza shop name was half way covered up and it said just Pizza. Are we at George’s?! Sure enough-legal sized yellow paper in the window and on door– let me know that I was. There was only one guy working which I assumed was George– he greeted me and and got my pizza. The smell was typical pizza smell so I wasn’t nervous as I saw 3 more pizzas cooking in the oven. Got home, opened it up, and the look wasn’t anything to hoot and holler about but there were 4 tootsie rolls included for good measure. Your typical ‘ohio’ pizza– thin airy dough, cut into squares. Smaller, spicy peps that curl but they were cut to thick and didn’t get the crunch that one would like. The sauce– not bad-not sweet but not spicy. Mushrooms-meh and not of the good canned/blanched variety which I do usually prefer over fresh. A pizza I’ve similarly tasted in many shops around Ohio. One thing though about pizza for me though is how it makes my body feel the next day and that also is why George’s only really gets a star in my book. The bathroom god’s were screaming ‘whhyyyyy?!’ along with my stomach.

This some good pizza I like everything on it; they are generous with toppings. They also have an excellent barbecue chicken pizza

We’ve tried so many pizza places in this town that I lost count. Why? Because I consider my wife a «pizza snob». She is extremely critical and is on her never– ending journey to discover the perfect pizza. She claims it all begins with the crust. It can’t be doughy or burnt or soggy or so thick that it resembles a loaf of bread. Believe me, we’ve tried them all and then tried them again. I’m not as critical but when she said last night, «this is a good pizza», I looked at her and realized we finally may have found it. And I should add, this was our 2nd George’s pizza we’ve had in the past 2 months. That said, they’re consistent with quality and goodness. I can’t quite remember our first pizza’s toppings but do recall how good it was and that we both enjoyed it. Our latest was a deluxe which consisted or fresh, chunchy veggies and excellent seasoned sausage that doesn’t look like rabbit food or chopped sliders. The sauce isn’t so acidic. So I don’t require an anti-acid at 2AM. And the cheese isn’t runny or oily either. The pepperoni is just right not too greasy(your box won’t soil your seat during the drive home). All in all, it’s a winner! I’m stunned that it’s been under the radar for so long. Best part is that it’s not a chain and George takes personal interest in his product. So far, George’s is tops on the list and the best part for me is that his shop is only 5 minutes via car. He’s conveniently next door from Rick Beverage too. My wife just commented that the crust was good but can’t say it was the best however can’t describe what the best is but will know it when she has it. Me? I thought it was great. My next one will be a custom pizza. I’m done searching. No need to anymore.

The owner, who I’m assuming was George, was incredibly nice when I went in. The food was great and I could tell that the dough was fresh. $ 10.99 for a large pep was very reasonable.

I have an uncle George, so I had an immediate, if not curious, fondness for George’s pizza. My fondness only grew when I discovered that Tuesday night is their«special» night(my large pizza turned out to be less expensive than the medium I would normally order). George puts out a pretty good pie with friendly service, a smile, and a great price. It’s one of those«bastard» pizzas(not quite Ohio, not quite NY, not quite Chicago. .. .). Anyway, the crust is thicker than your average Ohio pie and the toppings do not go all the way to the edge(but you do get the square cut). Around the rim, the crust is very crispy with the taste and consistency of a bread stick. Under the toppings, the crust remains thick, but not so crispy. .. very dense. The sauce fell on the robust side(no sweet or tart notes). The toppings were all high quality. Something in either the sauce or the peps gave this pizza a very nice, spicy kick — one that hit you late in the process. I really enjoyed that spiciness. All in all, George tosses out an A-OK pizza. Definitely worth a try.

Kind of a hole in the wall place, but awesome pizza. Perfect if you are in one of the nearby hotels and want to eat in. Lots of toppings and great crust/sauce.

I am from Atlanta and I was looking for a great, local and«family owned’ place; I hate chains. This was right next door to the Fairfield Inn where I am staying. Wow! This didn’t disappoint as it was delicious and wasn’t overbearing, just the right balance between too thin and too much. Not sure if it was«George»(I should have asked) that cooked and brought me my pizza but he was a delight to talk to. I highly, highly recommend this place.

I live near George’s Pizza and most of the time it looked quite empty. Gave it a try and it was really good! I ordered their Pepperoni pizza and the crust texture was amazing. The pizza was topped with so much cheese and pepperoni. Service was good as well. Definitely will visit again to try other pizza.

George’s Pizza has«Weight». You know what I mean? Weight, like when you pick up the box and it actually feels like there’s something substantial in there. I can put away almost a whole large pie if I let myself but this one smacked me down at about half way I just couldn’t eat any more. So George’s Pizza lured me in with their weekly special — $ 2 off any large pizza from Sunday to Wednesday. If you want a thick crust, but not deep dish, crispy on the outside crust loaded with toppings, this carryout only place is serving up a really good pie. I got a large pizza with a generous amount of mushrooms(canned), fresh tomatoes, banana peppers and fresh white onion that set me back $ 16 with the special deal. So for $ 16 I had a huge dinner, some cold pizza in the morning and a mid afternoon snack too. I’m cool with that. Additional kudos: They put a bag of red pepper flakes in the box along with five mini tootsie rolls. Free. Also the dude was thoughtful enough to offer me plates, plastic utensils and napkins. So why not five stars? I’d give 4 ½ if I could as the pie wasn’t browned on top and it did take a while to bake. A great pizza oven can knock out a pizza in about 10 minutes, theirs takes about 20 minutes or so. It’s a minor gripe though. They do cut it into squares, as it should be. I will definitely give them more of my pizza business the next time I get the craving for a pie.

I did not try the slices, but the pizza made to order is very tasty, and the staff is very nice and helpful. They kept the take-out pizza warm, and it travelled well. This is college pizza — a lot of toppings but mostly the ones you expect. The veggies were perfect, not over cooked, and the dough was very nice as well. Definitely a great find!

The first time I stopped in I got a small pizza and the wings on a Friday or Saturday night. It was suggested I get the special which included a larger size pizza. I declined and later regretted it. The price was a few $ less and when my husband came home he wanted to try more than what was left for him. The wing sauce comes on the side so you can control the amount of sauce. I remember I liked it. They offer $ 2 pizza by the slice. The last time I stopped in was around 6pm. The by the slice pizza looked old and inedible so it’s probably only a good idea for lunch or an afternoon snack. George’s has a sweet sauce and a higher crust to toppings ratio than I like. It wasn’t noticeable with the small pizza but definitely noticeable when I got the large. The two times I’ve stopped in the counter service has been good.

Take out and delivery only. This is not a dine-in place. We had a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. It was pretty good, better than the typical pizza you get from a national chain. The texture of the crust and cheese was different from the places that I normally get pizza from – which means I will probably put it in the list of places I consider when I want pizza – but overall the quality did not stand out a great deal.

Not bad, but nothing that would make me order from here over the many other places nearby. I’m still baffled about the Columbus-style cracker crust, cornmeal dusted, salty, round pizza that for some reason so many places cut into squares(which is strange in this instance when the round, pie cut, billowy crusted pizza on the George’s website looks nothing like the actual product). I feel bad not giving a more positive review because the staff was so nice but this is nothing to write home about and I’ll probably just stick to driving a little further to get some of the other chewy-crusted, less salty pies.

I was crazy surprised to find out about this place. I work minutes away and eat in the plaza that houses it all the time(same plaza that houses Sushi Ting, Fortune, Café Kabul, etc). I could not believe I’d never heard of it before. If I find a place I’ve never heard of, AND it only has two reviews… I must go. This is a hidden secret, I tell ya. He makes his own dough! Since I was dining alone(I couldn’t get any coworkers to commit), I just ordered a sub. However, their website clued me in to request it be prepared on their house-made garlic bread. This was a wise decision. It was delicious! The sub was just a standard vegetarian, if not for the bread, it may not have stood out, but they have lunch deals, which are real nice, and I cannot wait to go back to try George’s pizza. Oh, if you are having trouble finding it, It does also apparently go by George’s Pizza. So I’m not totally positive on what the correct name is. I’ve seen both.

It’s a great carryout place that also does delivery after 5:00pm. They have great deals Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Sun. The menu consists of pizzas(homemade crust and stone baked), subs, salads, wings, and a couple of pasta options. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious. The owner is very friendly and seems to really believe in quality ingredients and attention to detail. The deluxe garlic bread is particularly tasty. This is a fairly new business and I want it to succeed so please give it a try and add your 2 cents.
